That was actually meant to say without, but i was moving the text around and only copied the with bit hahaha

No problem man, the more people I can help enjoy your great work the better :)

52
yup, you may notice a couple of bugs here and there but for the most part it is totally.

If you do notice any bugs though please note them down as im compiling a list for Sega Chief

53
unfortunately this is the best we can get without totally messing and breaking the way 7H works.

anything else causes a desync totally messing up the game :(

54
the problem is to do with syncing, did manage to get round it myself and get it working.

you need to do a fresh install, then new threat, then 7H game converter, then Reunion and only the MO part, sega chief suggest using without the 9999 limit break.

Finally add "mods\Reunion" to the extra folders bit and you should be good to go

However the movies will want to load from the CD only, to make them load from the movies folder and have it to be as perfect as possible you then need to do the following

Create a back up of you final fantasy folder, then you need to install 7H game converter again to the non back, finally change your back up to be the main and the main to a back up or delete  and you should be good to go, worked for me :)

well in 7H you have limited options concerning the menu overhaul mod but the main part is doing something :/ If i choose no change but do choose to have no command box, no battle box and the 9999 break limit applied it will run fine... so not sure what menu overhaul itself is doing as this isn't my field, I don't mind trying your idea unless you already have a patch for me to try?

seems you were right, as they are working on RO2 they have took RO1 down :(

You always reply so fast you never cease to amaze me.

Ok I have done loads of testing and pretty much every mod works with your mod in 7H that I have tested, that being all the graphic increasing mods such as spell effect, models, weapons, world map textures, field textures, battle textures, sound effects and avatars so menu overhaul must be messing with something and you know it messes up pretty early on. The first battle with the two soldiers will be a battle with a high level enemy in a forest who kicks your butt in two seconds. loading a previous saying and ending up in a battle just causes a crash.

If we can crack this down maybe you won't need a 7H version? I'd be happy to help you test idea's if you want to work together on this?

BTW I had trouble with the game converter as well, specially if i FF7 installed in any form of program folder, even on my secondary drive but sticking it in \Games\Final Fantasy 7\ got it to behave and run properly

Hey Sega Chief,

After finally building my new pc i have got round to playing your mod, well sort of ha. I have mainly been trying it with 7H and loading other mods on top and going through which ones break it and which ones don't and so far the one i really want to work just totally breaks it which is the Menu Overhaul Mod, is there any reason why this would break it?

Also any chance you are close to releasing a 7H version so we can combine it with the HD stuff?

58
Hey EQ2Alyza,

I just wondered if you are going to be updating the game play to support New Threat 1.2?

Yeah, I'll make the promo stuff after the new version is uploaded, priorities and all that

All the fixes and tweaks are cleared in my list. Last thing that's being done right now is expanding the new sidequest's interface a little more.

Oh I'm so excited I think I have nibbled my nails clean off my fingers! This is going to seriously impact my law studies haha :P

I may as well make a new one; the old one has v1.1 written on the installer footage.
but more importantly how is that checklist going :P

Hi folks!

Looks like I'm pretty much done with 5min1_2. I'll just have to import and enviro light for the final render and that will be it - unless someone has useful advice about how to improve the scene some. So, here it is:

Who is going to spot the Scottish Easter egg?

Being a British person myself how could I not notice the fact all them sexy bottles are Irn Bru!!!! Bloody love that stuff and another great reason why I am happy the No vote won! Plus my Scottish uncle just brought down square sausages for us, seriously why do you have square sausages, they look burgers?

P.S. Looks amazing!

66
Hey, just to give you an update. I have now installed all the mods and everything seems to be running smoothly.

I tried new threat and nightmare and both were fine from what I could see but I only played them up to the reactor blowing up.

Though randomly on certain scenes I got error messages at the bottom about missing palettes, also got this in my normal play through where I am now at 7th heaven.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your hard work though as this is truly a great set and I do love bootleg but I have to say, this is so much better as you can easily just interchange between mods and setups without much worry.

Though obviously the advantage of bootleg is true customization

67
The game was a fresh install but I had a bootleg installation sometime ago however i deleted, uninstalled and removed everything then installed the 7th heaven way.

I had no music with it saying it could never find any of the music but I did have the default sound effects. Also a lot of other things didn't work such as high res backgrounds, avatar portrait changes and so on.

The issue was when you encountered the first two shinra soldiers every time, even if i choose no change it would still give me a battle with a random enemy and the gui would have glitches.

however since then as i posted before I have uninstalled the game again and manually removed everything from the registry and downloaded all the mods again and so far everything seems to be working that I have tested, however I am testing in bits. So far I have tested all these together with no issues;

Battle Models - Weapons
Media - Movies (though I can't actually tell the difference from the original and i chose DrLilo's)
Menu Overhaul
Media - Music and Sound
Battle Textures
Spell Textures
Menu - Background and Avatars
Battle Models - Characters
Field Models - Characters, Enemies and Objects
Gameplay - Tweaks and Cheats

68
ok ok I've got another update for you.

After getting totally annoyed with it not working no matter what I did I removed the game completely and then went into my registry and manually deleted every single reference to FFVII and then installed everything again. I've decided to test it slowly by adding only a few mods at a time but so far everything is good and the sound works!

current mods tested that worked fine.

Media - Movies
Menu Overhaul
Media - Music and Sound
Battle Textures

I should also note I downloaded the whole library again.

69
also i tried nightmares mod and again the first battle was all messed up. The first fight was the cactus thing even though it said ex-soldier and totally kicked my arse, also the battle background was the desert

Here ya go

# check your Nvidia/ATI/Intel control panel settings if this option doesn't seem to work
enable_vsync = on

# allow FF7 to use linear filtering for its textures
# some things look slightly better with this option on, but alot of textures just lose their detail
# only affects low-res textures, high-res replacements will still be filtered where appropriate
linear_filter = off

# plugin used to play music, VGMstream requires a set of looping .ogg files in the music/vgmstream folder.

The \/ aren't an issue. They can go either way. However, the APP.LOG is an issue. It's not recorded the first half of the process. Is this a copy/paste error on your part? Otherwise, I'm baffled as to how it could skip all of it and start recording at the FF7Config setup.

I haven't played through all the difficulty and story mods, but I don't think that is what Sega Chief intended. Is Gamplay - Difficulty and Story at the top of the Active Mods list?

New Threat shouldn't actually be there, but I forgot to take it out. Sega Chief has said it's only complete through Disc1, and after that the difficulty starts to skew and become unbalanced. He's working on version 1.2 to balance it all out.

Sorry it was early hours when I was trying this, copy and pasted it wrong. Here you go;

I can also confirm I get the same insane fight with new threat at the beginning, some really weird looking models as well. Actually thought somehow my game had sent me into some sort of radioactive nightmare mutant version of the game because of the errors lol.

[00000116] ERROR: couldn't open music file: G:\Games\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\/music/vgmstream/PRE.ogg

it seems to have some weird \/ just before "music"

A luxury, but definitely a nice one. I wouldn't mind this as well :)

Actually when you change it to compact view it does scroll fine with the mouse wheel, it is only in non compact view it doesnt :)

seeing as you made the packages and know what they all are you can just leave it in compact view for now and enjoy you lucky dog. I however need the pictures and descriptions lol :P

74
Ok I changed the load order as you stated (btw is Gameplay Tweaks before Battle Models - Weapons) as well, or literally must those two be first and then any order after that?

Either way I tried both and I am still getting the same errors at the bottom of the screen and I have it setup exactly as you say in your tutorial?

It is a completely fresh install and everything was setup up correctly with the converter?
