Right I simply enabled it in the D3d tab in this tweak program Riva Tuner: http://tweakfiles.com/video/rivatuner.html" TARGET=_blank>http://tweakfiles.com/video/rivatuner.html

I took the tick out of TNT in FFVII config with this option enabled and 8 bit textures got a pass and the game ran in D3d with out the TNT ticked!

This is an intresting observation that no one else has noticed yet so...here it is.

Well your computer is screwy then.
I tryed driver after driver around the time I got my Riva TNT. And that was when I played FFVII more or less constantly to...8 bit never passed for me.

Luckey you?

u should get detonator destroyers if ur gonna change crivers alot, it clears it ALL out.
remember to remove the gfx card INF file from
c:windowsinfother so on restarting windows defaults to VGA PCI controller, thus a clean reinstall of the drivers

Oh yea I heard of that.
I use the uninstall driver thing in NVMax. I bet it does exacly the same thing.

I dont change drivers often any way. Not any more. I have stuck with the 1290s for ages.
They gave me a 250 point boast in 3dmark 2001 and are stable as hell so why bother changeing them?

All thouggh open GL is crashing so I might try this det destryer program and try GL setup.

But none of that will work I know I am going to have to reformat...again.

Cane....if you really want to force the 8 bit texture on do this: (don't know why your bothering, you still need the patch)

Go to the Power user tab.

open the Direct3d tree (it ends with Direct 3d, on my 6.50 driver it says, "Nvidia Detonator 6.50 w9x Direct3d")

Now search for "PaletteEnable" and change the number from 0 to 1.

I think you have to then reboot. All your really doing is changing the windows registery.
