If it is a bios setting, you could try resetting the cmos/bios using jumpers.  If you don't know how, it would be wise to look up where and which jumper to use from your motherboard's manufacturer.  If its a bios that is flash only, the same principle should still apply.  Oh, and if you don't have the manufacturer's info there should be small text printed on the board that says either cmos or bios, it usually has three pins with only two covered by the jumper, if this is the case move the jumper to the only other possible combination(i.e. the jumper is on the 2nd and 3rd pin move it to the 1rst and 2nd and vice versa).  Then start the computer with the moved jumper.  After everything boots up, repeat the process by returning the jumper to its original position(important).

:?  Confused? If you don't wanna do all the crap I just said, then alternatively you can remove the battery in the motherboard(looks like a watch or button battery) and remove the power cable for a few hours. Then just put it back, but the other option is safer as long as you know where the cmos jumper is.

I hope you don't have to do anything I just said and its an easier problem, but if you do I wish you the best. :-D

I believe in my opinion that since the original game was in Japanese, with the intention of a resemblance of earth as the original idea, being a purist I believe that it should be Aerith.  On a side note there is no 'th' sound in Japanese, so they replace it with 'ス' or 'su' and because of that there are many mistranslations.  I hope don't have to tell you examples since you probably already know the mistakes mentioned in this thread http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7616.msg92311#msg92311.

just throwin this out there, but wikipedia has Aerith Gainsborough as the character name when describing events of the game

What application was this?

sorry i was out of town for a bit.  I used intervideo's package of burning software.  It doesn't really matter too much what the program you use as long as its compatible with everything.

I discussed this with him in the irc chat and I think it was resolved there too, but if he wants to continue he'll be doing it without me.

The Intel 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M) driver seems to be the one your looking for.  You want to put that on a CD or floppy and when you start installing xp the blue screen with white text appears on the bottom "Press F6 if you need to install a SCSI or RAID driver...." press F6 and put in your disk with the sata driver. I found plenty of sites with the driver download by just googling "Intel 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M)"

make that glorified federal postal insurance and he was talking about possible fees being paid for copyrights(if it was just copyrights it probably have never ever ended) :-) oh and sorry for thinking that was you griever(you were the the first person to talk to me in the forum and the channel, so I went out on a limb, but now its severed).  should have known better, but im glad you enjoyed it :-D  Oh and I apologize, jari, for assuming you were in the US and knew things about it since you knew things like that Disney incident, but Disney is an international company, so i assumed wrong.  But like I said copyrights and copyright protection (registration, proof in a court of law, etc..) are not the same  :-P

have you check your Data paths in regedit?  don't know about vista too much, but maybe the registry 'DiabloIICD' has the incorrect path.  In XP for me its in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE/Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II and it's set to a root directory for a disc drive

If El Ammo has a go at me, I'm going to do the same as I do when he does it to anyone else, I'm going to read it with a massive smile on my face, because personally, I find some of his posts quite hilarious.

I had an argument with a person named jari on the irc chat and even caught him on a few lies, but haven't had the pleasure of meeting him on the forums.  Is jari El Ammo?

What program are you running to burn?(windows, roxio, etc.) I had this same problem with my dvd burner using Nero 7, but got around it by making it an image/ISO file, then burned it with another application.

Sorry, my excuse is I'm new here, so I didn't fully grasp what was meant by the rules and regs, and now I do.  But really I just felt I had something to contribute, and when people reply to my messages, I feel I should respect (not disrespect) them with a response.

don't post in it (unless you have an important follow-up or question exactly on-topic, and the topic is still recent). If you post just a comment on something somebody said ... chances are no-one will care because it's been a while since everything was posted.

Well, I see this as an important follow up since there are people that seem to miss the very point I was making, it was very relevant to the thread, and although the topic was not recent there is obviously someone who cares.  :-)

http://64.233.161.147/search?hl=en&q=truemotion+filter+download (HINT: it's the first link)

and just incase your new to forums scroll down and look for a link that reads 'Next Page'.  It's next to the link "Post Reply - ".  After that the very first post of the second page has a link to download it, just copy and paste into your address bar and follow instructions.  Then back on the forum found through the google search(on page 2) scroll down and you will find detailed instructions on how to install the file, pay close attention to the instruction nearest the end and use only one of these '\' at a time.

   Alternatively h t t p : / / f t p . i d i l i s . r o / w i n d o w s / C o d e c s / A C E M C P 6 0 3 P R O . e x e will get you an installation package with the codec, but you should only select the tm20 codec to install.  (that last link was on the same exact webpage as the instructions.)

hey, no hard feelings we're all here to help, learn, and have fun right?  I just hope that those that already gave up will see one of my posts seeing as how they seemed to have gone through the same troubles i did.  I am, however, a little dissapointed that such an easy and obvious solution wasn't mentioned for them, though I suppose it would simply have been a matter of time before anyone in the same predicament would have discovered it too.

Really? Is it really?  Well I suppose that's true since I didn't realize that I was being attacked.  ( smiley face )

A repeated post? Sounds almost as bad as a repeated problem.  ouch

goes to show you how many time this problem has been addressed and not solved.
