Not sure how to resolve the GUI, maybe compatibility mode, however... you can use keyboard to get through the settings as required.

start installer> enter > tab > up arrow > enter > tab > enter > navigate to your ff8 root dir > tab > tab > enter > tab > tab > tab > (/select your options!) enter > enter > wait for it to finish, then enter.

You can also reduce your DPI to 72 (previous page reply by DLPB)

I have a question that I can't find the answer to and can no longer remember the solution spite knowing I've resolved this in the past...

When I start the game I have two sets of audio playing, the music is playing twice. Pointers?

edit:

Figured it (somewhat out) and I'm taking a complete guess at what is happening with your installer, but it should non-the-less help you resolve the issue.

Basically where I had installed a previous version of RaW, I had a dmusic_backup folder already.

I believe that maybe when your installer attempts to create the backup folder, it fails that section as the procedure because the folder already exists and therefore does not proceed to move the sgt files out of dmusic and into dmusic_backup.

Because (for what ever reason) I had the midi files in the dmusic again, spite the backup folder (perhaps a steam verification check) both your music and the midis were playing.

Announcements and site development / Tunnel Vision
« on: 2016-01-08 04:42:14 »
Hello All,

I've been visiting Qhimm.com for most of this millennium spite only registering in 08. I've watched this forum evolve over time and only now do I feel the need to say something...

The work done here by the members is so remarkable, and I know of the amount of work that goes into keeping a forum running and active.

I don't want to step on toes, but I feel now is the time to express my belief that those of you who keep this place breathing day in and day out have a bit of tunnel vision in regards to the way the entire forum is organized.

What I mean by this is that you are all so familiar with how this forum thinks, how  the forum is structured, that you may not quite see, or appreciate how difficult it is to navigate without knowledge of the place. I've floated about these forums for years, I've never been an active member though, and every now and again when I pass on by to see what's going on, I have to relearn the structure and the way the forum thinks to find out what is going on.

When we, as the collective forums.qhimm.com, started to create the sub forums for mod releases, to separate discussions; I was excited to see that there was some forward thinking going on. I expected this to continue but sadly it hasn't, spite Administrators such as obesebear's best efforts to make clear cut rules. Though I can see the logic behind it all and it is beautiful in it's own way.

As I said before, I do not wish to step on toes, so while I feel that this next paragraph should now consist of examples and suggestions on what I would change, I also don't feel that is appropriate right now. I mearly want to bring the community out of the tunnel and into the light.

With the inevitable hype that the FF7 remake is bringing to the world, let alone this forum, now is the time to look outside the box, change the way you think, use different tools if required, recollect your data and files that have been made through-out the years. Turn this place into the hub of information it is supposed to be, and ensure that it is easily accessable.

Thanks for reading.

Warm regards to all,

- James.

7thHeaven / Break 9999 crash
« on: 2016-01-08 03:44:34 »
Can't confirm if this is a conflict with another mod... yet.

Enabling Break 9999 causes the game to crash.

Tested and reproduced with the initial battle.

No Gameplay mods enabled.
Menu overhaul being used: without beacause, removed hand indicator, and no battle boxes.
Jessie Mod not being used.
Sephiroth Story mod not being used.
Faster Enemy Deaths: 1
Always Run: 1
Clock Fix: 1
Increase Sense Limit: 1
Save/PHS Anywhere: 1
Skip Cutscenes: 1

Everything related to textures in use (not likely to be related anyway).

Was suggested to post here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16604.0

Content:

Under Workshop > Open GL Driver Configuration; the help text stating the "Should be" are the wrong way around... right?

Another:

Using space bar to raise priority of a mod makes the block appear out of sync and behind other blocks.

Reproduce:
Disable Miscellaneous - Dynamic Cloud Weapons
Enable it
Go to bottom and click on up arrow
Hit space bar to raise item to the top.

Closing and reopening 7H resolves bug.

7thHeaven / [Solved] No Music
« on: 2016-01-08 01:29:50 »
Trying 7H for the first time; I've always been one to manage the mods manually my self, usually...

So, as the title states... No Music. Is FF7Music.exe supposed to load somewhere?

Where to begin trouble shooting? I have sound. Sound Effects change if I change them, but no music. (FMV music, obviously plays but nothing else.)

Advice?

[removed log for clean post]

Solved.

Suggestion to EQ2Alyza

Under your important notes you have

-------------------
Important Notes
➣ Music Plugin: VGMStream <-- Music will not work if this is not selected.
-------------------

At a glace, due to the double use of "not" appears like one should not use VGMStream.

This should be rephrased from a negative sentence to a positive one, something like the following to avoid confusion:

-------------------
Important Notes
➣ Music Plugin: VGMStream <-- VGMStream must be selected for Music to work.
-------------------

edit: spelling.

Yes this is "normal".

You have chosen that particular type field texture - Ozmys Field pack: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12260.0 - unfortunately imageshack sucks, so you'll have to click on the now-disabled images and hit download to compare.

I promise you'll get used to it; I remember feeling very odd using the pack once upon a time.

To expand on this, you have two options if you hit Configure for "Field Textures - Part 1": Omzy and yarLson.

As described in 7H: "Omzy = fractalized detail, yarLson = preserved detail"

Decide which you prefer, if any.

You want to do the following to resolve this:
Open 7th Heaven> Workshop> Settings
Under FF7 exe, ensure that the FF7_bc.exe is used.

%ff7location%\FF7_bc.exe

Or... (not recommended)

Renaming the file ff7.exe to ff7.bak.exe and then renaming ff7_bc.exe  to ff7.exe will fix this.

Hi All,

I've been one of these silent members of your community for many years, even a few prior to actually registering to the forum back in 2008.

Lately I've noticed that these forums have been experiencing issues and whats more worrying to me is that many links to files that the members here have distributed are slowly becoming unavailable and I fear the hard work may be lost.

I work in IT and operate my own business in the UK. I have access to servers in datacenters around the world in network environments that have been built from the ground up for specific needs.

I would be happy to discuss the needs of the Qhimm (site &) forum community if someone would like to get in touch with me.

Kind Regards,

- James.

In regards to this download, can anyone tell me what they get as the MD5 Hash?

I have

The same is occuring to me when using the cutom driver.

Are you guys getting a slow down/drop in FPS per screen?

20
In regards to FF8 / FFVIII ,

Using the driver the following is observed...

The game's FPS' go down, to temp resolve, one has to open up the game menu and apon exiting the menu the game runs as it should: smooth. However, should you enter a new screen the problem reoccurs.
