I am only taking a wild guess here, but the washy look may be due to your 36in TV. Try increasing the Internal Resolution inside Bootloader Configure and let me know if that makes a difference.

Oh I definitely don't disagree. I work in IT and do custom pc and server builds, so I'm very used to user error. I wouldn't be surprised if I've missed something.

I'm glad you have experience with it. It makes explaining the obvious feel less bad on my part :)

You can always manually install them as well. Just extract the 5 files I mentioned into /mods/Bootleg/field.

Be aware that when you extract FacePalmer.zip, it has a single folder called field. Inside that folder are hundreds of other .rar files, so it's best to extract the field folder somewhere temporary first, then extract all its .rar files into /mods/Bootleg/field. Lastly, extract all the Fixes into mods/Bootleg/field.

I don't think this is an "issue" with Bootleg, but rather a user error when installing. It happens all the time  :P

...complex shader and put the setting to DXL (shader option, whatever it was called) to 420...

I'm confused what you mean by this.

All my videos use FacePalmer field textures. Run BFE.exe again with FacePalmer as your Field Textures option. I don't know if you downloaded my torrent pack or if you did individual downloads, but if you did individual downloads, use FacePalmer.zip + FixedLightingTexturesPART1.rar + FixedLightingTexturesPART2.rar + FixedMissingFiles.rar + FixedSpecialCases.rar. So long as those 5 files are present and green, you don't need to download Omzy'sFF7FieldPack.zip because they are the same thing.

The black screen after clicking Play is common. Open FF7Config.exe, click on the Sound tab, and set a sound device. When it's left blank, the game won't start.

I said some of that yes, but I was very specific with the directions. It wasn't just uninstall and reinstall. I've noticed the small details always missing in your responses, so I am wondering if the language barrier is preventing us from working this out. If anyone can speak good English and Spanish, help us out please  :)

It's the same problem. Follow the steps above to fixing the Mansion Safe (...and Junon Parade, Gaea's Cliff, Rocket launch, etc...).

When you say "uninstalled and reinstalled," did you delete the old game folder before you reinstalled? The FF7 uninstaller doesn't get rid of the mods, so they remain there afterwards. If you then try to reinstall to that same location, problems can occur.

Filed Files? I think you did a typo there  ;) I'll fix it once you respond.

Post your APP.log

I can't see your screen to see how you replaced "enabled_postprocessing = yes" but your wording sounds as if you replaced it incorrectly. It needs to be replaced with "enable_postprocessing = no". Did you also file -> save before closing?

You can do these same things in Bootloader by clicking on the Configure button. Under the Main tab, leave Postprocessing unchecked. Under the plugins tab, the Post-processing Shader section has a drop-down menu for all the different plugins. Try the Disabled option first. Make sure to click the Write CFG button in the top right before closing the Configuration window. If the game launches, then try going down the list of plugins until you find a stable shader that you're satisfied with.

Blue Counter Numbers Erro,

i can't see Number Counting, i only see 1/5 number.

Plz how fix it

I have temporary fix for you. The counter box won't align perfectly with the dialogue box, but it will be visible enough to continue. Be very precise with these directions. If you're confused before trying, then ask first. Doing the wrong thing here can cause the entire game to not work properly.

1. Create a folder called "MO" in your game installation folder.
2. Copy a ff7.exe (v1.02) into the MO folder: http://ffsf.aaron-kelley.net/downloads/ff7_1.02.zip
3. Copy a CLEAN flevel.lpg into the MO folder. You should find it in /data/field/flevel.lpg.bak0 -> rename it to flevel.lpg after you copy into the MO folder.
4. Install MO.exe (MO5c) directly to the MO folder with the same options you selected from Bootleg. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3Kl04es5qkqQnk1QnhmbVhKejg/edit
5. HexChanger 1.0 will state that it can't find a .bin file. Hit Ok, close the HexChanger tool, and MO.exe will continue. Ignore and close the text file that pops up.
6. Copy/overwrite ff7.exe from the MO folder into the game installation folder
7. Rename /data/field/flevel.lpg -> flevel.lpg.bak1
8. Copy flevel.lpg from the MO folder to /data/field/flevel.lpg

I should have been more specific. Every time I have seen a piracy warning given, it amounted to the green Watched icon, so that's the warning amount I always assumed was given.

You're playing the Hardcore Difficulty Mod, which changes the Master Materia to those 3 you stated.

I didn't know it existed. Will do.

It's like my favorite button hehe  ;D

Backup the folder called "save" before you uninstall. After your new install, copy/paste the save folder back into the main installation folder.

Things like this just don't excite me anymore. Not enough to pay that kind of money at least. I could deal with the $9.99 tag for FFVII because it was playable on PC, which is pretty much all I play now, but that's as far as I go. No way I would pay for those game prices + PS3. It's easier to watch a playthrough on YT and witness the exact same gameplay and storyline all prettied up. I am not saying others are wrong for buying into it though. To each, their own  :)

sorry but all the files says Invalid or Deleted File. i already checked all the links ... dont work :(

Are you clicking on the links called FILE in my above post? Because they work just fine for me, all 3 of them. The QHIMM link takes you to the original thread, and all its download links are broken as you describe.

I added a video link at the very top of my guide. Go check it out.

I would recommend starting over with a fresh install of the game, no mods attached prior to running Bootleg, then beginning my guide at Step 1. If not, then there is serious potential for glitches, crashes, and broken gameplay to occur.

I found a problem ... each time i try to do  The Battle of Fort Condor the game crash it.
Anyone know how fix it? http://sadpanda.us/images/1548939-TCEK5HL.jpg

I need help too please eh!

Strayoff's Condor                                                       Author                              Bootleg Option                                             Info                                Preview

█ condor_models_v1.00_18-08-2011-strayoff.zip     StrayOff               Strayoff's Condor (Models)           Qhimm FILE                IMAGE

█ fcondor_rmk_v1.0_05-08-2011-strayoff.rar        StrayOff               Strayoff's Condor (Textures)         Qhimm FILE                IMAGE

█ compilation_v1.0_17-08-2011-strayoff.zip        StrayOff               Strayoff's Condor (Compilation)      Qhimm FILE                IMAGE

Option 1) Download the Compilation version first, extract its files, and run the setup.exe.

Option 2) If you still crash, try downloading the 2 files for Models and Textures, extract them, and run each of their setup.exe.

I do not know if either of these options will overwrite everything associated with the Fort Condor Battle, so if you are still crashing after trying both of them, then I would safely assume that Bootleg 040 installs the corrupted v1.02 texture pack for the Fort Condor Battle. So, what you need to do is uninstall and delete everything and start with a fresh installation again. Next, run Bootleg with the Strayoff's Condor option left unchecked. After it finishes installing the mods, run the Compilation version setup.exe and hopefully everything should work. The Compilation version installs the slightly older v1.01 texture pack, but at least it was a working version.

Mods that you have already manually installed won't ever show up on the Bootleg Mod List. What it does is check a list based upon what options you choose in the Bootleg Front End (BFE.exe). You need to uninstall and delete your FF7 installation folder completely, then start with the Bootleg Tutorial linked by mystery_editor. It has both written and video of the step-by-step process from the start of buying the game, to its installation, to its modding process, and finally it's post-modding configurations.

Feel free to ask any questions along the way. Good luck  :)

The BFE mod list is a bit unorganized, so try not to stress too much. Use this list to find everything you need: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13981.msg196162#msg196162

FMVRes.exe IS part 7. It's labeled differently than parts 1-6, so I understand the confusion.

Yarlson file can be found in the Field Textures section. It has a working mirrored link.

I'm not sure why your eidoslogo.avi is still red. Recheck for it in your Mods Source folder that you set in the Installation tab. There is no other reason why it would be red other than a misplacement.

I run CCleaner, and it does a good job cleaning up the registry entries. I swear, Bootleg is the reason I started using it lol Sooo many reinstalls when I was testing before every release.

When everyone here talks about reinstalling to try and fix things, are you deleting the FF7 folder after you uninstall the game and before you start a new install? That folder will still have all the mod files in it, so installing back to it may cause issues.
