I must say this is an amazing work that you've accomplished....Now if we can just get something easier to use than FF music we'd be set!

Some of the tracks sound a bit strange, not how I'd expect, but the majority are very good indeed.

I'd give it a "picky bastard" 8/10 rating all together.  :-P

hehe i know exactly what you mean...but i gave it my all to let them all sound the way i felt when i first played FFVII on the PSX.
The problem is...MIDI instruments dont always sound as real instruments...so i had to deal with complicated stuff like different velocities, volumes, reverb, panning and convert that to real instruments.
And i lack the studio monitors for better sound control/mastering so the music will not sound the same with everybody because of changes in type of speakers, configurations etc.

Thanks for the 8 though  :-D

I love your prelude remake. Is it possible to know what software do you use? Probably you made that under a MAC but I want to know if it's possible to do something like this on windows.

windows pretty much fails at music editing :/
the only thing thats anything like "garageband" or one of them is something called "mixcraft", but it's nothing compared to a mac.
if there is something for windows that's even a bit as good, let me know too ;)

Why do you say 'MAC' as if it's an acronym?  :?

There are plenty of packages for Windows, but they are all pretty difficult to use, nothing as simple as Garageband (although that's extremely limited anyway). Only Macs get Logic Pro, but you can get stuff like Cubase & Reason on Windows too.

Thanks all for the nice comments, much appreciated  :D

I love your prelude remake. Is it possible to know what software do you use? Probably you made that under a MAC but I want to know if it's possible to do something like this on windows.

I use Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer Edition on Windows Vista x64. I switched from Cubase SX3 to Sonar 8 since Vista x64 doesnt support Cubase SX3 and i heard that Cubase 4 is very buggy on all OS.
And yea...you need 64-bit for producing media these days :D

Don't know where people got the idea that professional studios (dont have one) all have Mac to produce music or video for that matter...its not true! I visited some studio's where they mainly have Windows XP (and Vista) 64bit...
Mac lacks "good" audio peripherals for professional audio equipment.
Its more a hype to have a Mac then really need one.

windows pretty much fails at music editing :/

Somehow, it didnt fail for me
No crashes here...my system is running smoothly and very stable :)
Garageband is cute for testing things out, but limited in advanced options.

Hey there again!

You have my approval :) only with your own conditions

First off I just want to say I really enjoyed the remasters, it really breaths some new life into the soundtrack and likewise into the game.
Not to turn this thread into a f.a.q. on how to get these into FF7music but I think the files themselves won't respond to the programs cues.  I cued up all the filenames to the mp3s and it is still dead silence.  I'm using in_mp3.dll and out_wave.dll to no avail  :?
I don't think it has something to do with the ini unless I'm wrong on this.

windows definitely does not fail at music editing. it may not have garage band or logic but it has tons of other programs that are just as good or better. reason and ableton come to mind immediately. i use a pc for all my music editing and creating and have never had a single issue.

Hi,

I'm currently coding a PSP homebrew game in C, called Final Fantasy VII - The Complete Saga.

The plan is to create a homebrew rpg, which contains the story of FFVII Crisis Core, FFVII, and Advent Children.
My original plan was to use the original midi files as music, but i recently noticed this on the torrents.
The description contained a link to this thread :)

Could i use this music in my game?

If needed i'll post screenshots, not great yet though, i only got zack/cloud running around on a field ATM xD

Thanks in Advance,

Thomly

(PS: I do not know why, but i followed a link to this thread in a forum i have never been, and i am logged in as someone called LimitBreak lol
I AM NOT that person)

Talking about passion you got there ...I can imagine that project will take alot of work.
Sure you may use it, but dont forget the credits  8-)

PS: Maybe LimitBreak used the same (public) pc and forgot to logout?
