SOLVED: Xbox controller works but not PS2?

Im have a ps2 to usb adapter but when I try to play FF7 with it, it doesn't register but, if I use my wired xbox controller it works no problem. I would use my xbox controller but some of the buttons are stiff and the analog gets stuck sometimes.

EDIT: Also when I installed it there was not input.cfg and it says that in red text when I start it up.

EDIT: Xpadder works but not in fullscreen mode, I have to have xpadder open covering up the screen and that makes final fantasy 7 have no sound.

wired xbox 360 controllers are supported mainly because its microsoft. i havent checked if the rerelease even has the option to configure a controller. if it does try that. if not use programs like xpadder or joy2key. match the buttons on the controllers to the corresponding keyboard controls. happy gaming

I think I figured it out, If I run Xpadder as admin it works fine, thanks for your help problem solved.
