Menu overhaul issues
« on: 2017-03-05 20:48:48 »
I'm having misaligned text issues and my battles has some wired glitches all go away when not using menu overhaul. i'm using ff7_mo.exe as well since I'm running with new threat. Here is a screenshot of what happens in battle. Also I disable menu overhaul and 9999 break and use ff7.exe all the text and everything else looks fine.

I think you've gotta go into the opengl comfig inside the ff7 root folder and change the modpath from reunion to textures

I found 2 options in ff7_opengl.cfg which one are you referring to?

# mod directory
# subdirectroy of mods/ where textures will be loaded from
mod_path = none

## MODDER OPTIONS ##
## These options are mostly useful to modders and should not be enabled during normal play.

# read files directly instead of using LGP archives
# for example; if FF7 is looking for aaab.rsd in char.lgp, this option will make it open direct/char/aaab.rsd first,
# if this file doesn't exist it will look for the original in the LGP archive
direct_mode = off

# show every failed attempt at loading a .png texture
show_missing_textures = no

load_library = Multi.dll

change your mod_path = none to mod_path = textures; direct_mode = off needs to be changed to on.

yep that did it for me I'm wondering why the config file was set wrong? there was no mention in the tutorial or FAQ that I had to do this. Maybe good idea to add it to the FAQ at least.

The GC should have set those for you automatically, so something must have happened for you during the conversion process.

No idea why that happens. But at least its an easy fix. Direct mode doesn't actually make a difference if on or not unless you actually use it.
