7th Heaven Issues

Hi all,
(First off well done to the modders for doing such a fantastic job! :)
You have kept this game alive!)
 
I have recently installed 7H and after thoroughly reading the tutorial got it working.
So far I have had a few issues.

1) The game lags:
When the prelude credits come up it lags which i can deal with.
The game runs fine until  i enter a battle encounter the game lags considerably during the entire sequence.
Even worse when i summon chocomog.

2) Texture errors:
When i tick "texture cache" box the Start menu comes up with an "error: texture could not be compressed"
Also when i walk into the Kalm town Inn i get another error regarding texture loading.

3)When i summoned Chocomog and the Fat chocobo appeared the game crashed.
my app Log stated :
GL ran out of memory

I have allowed 2.5 GB RAM for Windows 7 to run the game is this enough?

When I change the internal resolution  to 1600× 900 it runs smooth with no lagging. Except i get screen tearing on the omzys background. It does this when I set anything lower than 3840×2160.
Is this all due to to the RAM being not enough?

If you're running texture mods, then I would turn off texture cache. See what that does.

The internal resolution was my other suggestion, but you've already made adjustments to that.

I've come to the conclusion i need to buy a suitable PC  to run the game with mods.

What kind of PC do you recommend to run 7th Heaven(or bootleg) Mods?
What are the specs required?

I have changed the internal resolution to the same as the output resolution1400x1050
This seems to have fixed the screen tearing and lagging :-)

That's good. Running this on Mac is not something we've tested at all, so I imagine it has some bumps along the way to get it going. Your GPU RAM is a bit low (512 MB recommended), so I hope you run okay through the whole game. If you start having issues with crashing and the APP.log shows memory running out, that will be why.

Ok. fingers crossed. Thank you very much :)

Only one issue still pops up when I enter some areas.
For example when i enter the Kalm Inn:

The glitch message is nothing on your part. The mod maker has to fix that, but currently doesn't have the resources to do so. Aali's Driver used to be able to turn off those messages, but since 0.8.x was released, it cannot be disabled.

I been beta testing 7th heaven for the past week. While the game plays absolutely fine in high res, i have found a few bugs to address that was caused by the mods.

Note: This bug did not occur until i reached junon.
Weapon mod - When using mike and millenia weapons for aerith, her weapons became white. Moving the mod up and down the list does not fix this. Nor does disabling any mods.

                        Using slayersnext weapons appear to be fine for cloud and aerith. Using mikes weapons appear to be fine as well for cloud and aerith.

New voice effects - Water splashes appear to be the sound of a little girl. When the dolphin in junon harbor jumps, he makes a little girl sound. When Heidegger pushes people into the water at costa del sol, they too make a weird girl voice instead of the sound of water splashing.

These are the only bugs i have found since i been playing. i am currently at gold saucer as of today.

I would also like to note i have not seen any texture loading errors, all my mods appear to be working, no lag, perfect resolution.

The white weapons on are my To Do List for fixes in the next update.

The water splash bug is from the mod author releasing it with that bug. I'll look into it, but not sure if I can fix it.

I have found a bug at the temple of ancients. On the first screen inside the temple where there is a series of stairs and vines, and where the ribbon is, there are shaded square boxes overlaying the maps textures. It only happens on this screen and nowhere else in the temple of ancients. But its possible that this bug was on my end, i will need somebody else to enter that area to confirm it. I am using the "Felix Leonhart+Ste41k+Grimmy" world textures and "Omzy" Field textures.

Hello, here is a list of all the issues i have noticed while playing 7th heaven. I understand some of the issues are from the mods themselves and not from 7th heaven, but i will post them anyways since i am not 100% sure. If i forget or find anything else i will edit the post.

When Menu Overhaul is activated and loading from memory card, the top right corners memory number gets cut out from the screen.
Upon using the new character battle models , i noticed Kaldarasha Vincent runs away slower than the rest of the team in battle.
Testing out the new weapon models i noticed Aerith's weapons become white when using Mike + Slayersnext and Mike.
I havent used this much, but the new voice effects for the music and sound mod are off in some parts of the game.
The last issue i noticed was in "omzy" field textures. In certain parts of the game it will create shaded pixels. And it will not allow you to cross the windy paths in the crater.
Omzy field textures does not slow the wind down to let you cross. In order for me to cross the windy paths in the crater, i had to deactivate my field texture mod.
