This is common when restarting/shutting down a computer because it installs Windows updates in the process. Updates can cause the registry to change. Run the game converter again with the Overwite option, and it should work again.

I guess I should just delete the current mo.exe from the game converter, rename bc.exe to mo.exe, and change the tutorial to state only needing mo.exe (renamed bc.exe) when using Menu Overhaul?

You don't have Menu Overhaul from the catalog activated. How are you using it exactly?

That's a very common issue reported many times before. It's usually related to the wrong .exe being used. Post your Profile Details so we can understand what other mods you're using.

Not sure why it's giving a 1.57 update message but nonetheless, there is nothing wrong with generating the catalog in 1.56. Don't need the quotes, if they're in your subscription window. Also check that there aren't any spaces before or after the subscription link.

When it's finished is the only info we know. DLPB is very particular with his work. He generally doesn't release broken or buggy mods because he does all his own internal testing and tool creation. It takes time and patience to achieve the amount of work he's doing.

R05c won't be added. It's a massive mod to pull apart and organize all the proper files, so I'm waiting until R06 is released to start that process.

No, I don't think he has a problem with me. He's had his own agenda for years on how he wants to mod FF7, and he's sticking to it. Both can coexist, so it's not an issue. It's just a matter of waiting for R06 and the (final) R07 before we can start benefiting from both.

It's not gonna happen. Best bet is to use the game converter, install R05c onto that base game, then mod with 7H. You will get mixed results, and DLPB isn't the person to ask for 7H help since he doesn't support it. If any updates for Reunion happen in the 7H catalog, it'll be after R06 is released.

Yep, I got it :) Have a ton of mods to update, CHaOS 1.7x included, which I think should resolve the issue. It's probably not the mod's fault (Kaldarasha makes quality stuff), but rather the way I pieced it all together for the catalog .iro. I don't usually just download the mod from the OP and add it into the catalog as-is.

The game converter sets up the ff7_opengl.cfg to have direct_mode = on, so why are people having it off? I've seen a few posts lately with it being off, which is telling me that they are not running the game converter correctly.

If you go to Workshop -> Aali Driver Settings -> Rendering, check the Direct Mode box and press the OK button, it'll update ff7_opengl.cfg as well.

Tried to fix this myself, but the  iro unpacker hangs on extracting the Field models - Main Characters iro at ACHF10.TEX in Red XIII - WolfMan - Red Werewolf + Harder Items 30%\char\ every time I try to extract it and fix the problem. It is a simple problem to fix if you can unpack the IRO. May try deleting and redownloading it to see if that helps with unpacking it.

EDIT: A quick google search says this has been a problem in 7th heaven since at least 2006 and is a real show stopper when it comes to editing mods myself.

Huh? 7H wasn't around in 2006 lol

Does D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\DLL_in have FF7anyCDv2.dll in it?

FF7_GC.log should be in the game folder.

'/I': is not a proper drive letter. It should be saying I:\ so I don't know what's going on with your converter. The FF7_GC.log should look like this:

All disc changes read for an FF7DISC1. It's a simple check used back in the days. You need to mount FF7DISC1 to the drive letter that it was assigned to by the game converter. Check FF7_GC.log to see which it is.

Yes, ff7_bc.exe is used when MO+BC are both activated.

I just loaded your exact profile, and my game starts up. One thing I notice in your APP.log is that FF7Music is being loaded in. Go into Aali Driver Settings -> Audio -> Music Plugin and change it to use VGMStream. I doubt this is the cause of your startup crash, but at least we don't have to worry about that anymore.

If the game still crashes, run the game converter again and choose the Overwrite option. The next step in your APP.log is to initialize the sound, so when the FF7Config window appears during the game converter, be sure the sound device drop-down isn't left blank. In the past, when this was left blank, the game window would launch and immediately close without any crash or error message, so I'm not sure this will solve your issue.

These are only background files, so it shouldn't interference with Menu Overhaul files from The Reunion. I haven't taken a look at the files in Remako yet, so I'll do that tonight and compare.

Very nice post. You are the first in a long time to give all details I ask for when reporting an issue. Thank you :)

Can you try running your setup with the Gameplay Cheats and Tweaks deactivated and tell me what happens. There have been several reports lately with certain options in it being an issue.

Through this onto an ff7.exe from a 2.0.8 install and it fixed most artifacts. I'm still getting a slight artifact under the item icons though.

You don't technically install over top of any mods from 7H. It's a memory injection tool, so it only pulls modded files out of the IRO and activates them in real time when the game calls for it. Your game files are left untouched during the whole process. So if you were to install Reunion, 7H would be injecting your activated mods over Reunion modified game files, which could cause issues. Animations are hard to say though. The amount of iterations people can choose for modding FF7 now are WAY too many for any individual to test, so users are gonna have to figure out specific things like this more on their own I think.
