A thought about the Nibelheim Sephiroth
« on: 2012-01-02 13:55:10 »
Has anyone ever tried removing the materia from Sephiroth in the KERNEL.BIN? His AI script forces him to use certain attacks in given situations, but if he doesn't have the materia to do it, will he still do it?

I remember, a long time ago, that I used a gameshark code to allow the removal of Sephy's Materia in the flashback. Didn't change a thing. I'm not 100% sure, more like 98% sure.

Removing the materia will not stop him acting - attacks specified in an AI script will occur even if the character hasn't the materia. I've confirmed this when I've made characters use spells as part of their counter scripts.

If my memory serves me correctly, the only thing materia really does is switch on and off attack / command options in the character menus.
