Has anyone kept up with the information on this? The original had a terrible launch, so I can't imagine a second chance to be any worse lol

11 is still doing fine, and as you said, original 14 was terrible
in fact, so terrible, it barely qualified as a game

I applied some time ago and got my key and that ages ago too but kinda confused where do i download the beta game lol still got the key here since first beta launch :S

I never got a beta key, feel a bit left out to be honest seeing as I pre-ordered the game in its original state and even stuck with it for a good few months despite all its faults ._. I'm also now paranoid I won't even get the free 30 days as squeenix seems to have stopped using the old version of their account login [I can still access it but their main website doesn't go anywhere near it, even the site FOR FFXIV]. if I log into my account on the new website the only thing in my games list is FF7 so i'm a tad concerned.

I have found myself more excited by this game than I really should be, especially since I don't particularly like either MMOs or monthly fees. I almost hope it turns out to suck so I don't buy it.

Haha, me too. I had enough of the MMO experience when I used to play Everquest in college. The social aspects are the best of any game genre, but the content is so combat focused, that is loses its charm fast and becomes stale. I think every MMO goes down this same road now .

I am in beta and it feels of similar nature $:-\$

Gimme gimme please haha... nah... I'm kidding. I signed up for the beta but Square has messed up the accounts access in several regions so I needed to sign up with a new account with no Square games registered and I guess that's why I haven't received any reply yet, if they are taking any fanbase into consideration...

Now that the pre-order package is released does anyone know if there are any bonuses codes for those who have bought the first FFXIV? I remember there was a registration code inside the case...

***Ok!!! I have visited my Square Enix account and noticed that in field where I had registered the first part of Final Fantasy XIV, the Realm Reborn appears now!!! Does that mean that I have the Realm Reborn or do I have to re-order it? Please help because I want to pre-order if I don't already have it with the first game!!! ***

Considering this is being marketed as the same game, and they shut down the servers for the original already, this is the only reasonable thing to do.

While I'm hardly wetting myself in anticipation after I felt 11 was a contender for worst game ever with it's shitty UI and lack of any atmosphere (it was pretty vacant when I tried it a couple of years back), I got my beta keys today, one for PC, one for PS3, gonna try the PS3 version, see how it handles on a console.
