So how does everyone feel about the new look to this forum?

For the record as long as it's still here I love it.

I actually like it, it's somehow cleaner / more modern looking.

I'm not a fan of every post being "new" now. But that can't be helped. Hopefully qhimm doesn't have to go under.

Have you tried clicking the 'Mark ALL messages as read'-button on the lower right hand corner?

I see that there are two new smileys.

It seems like there are a lot more, but the smiley toolbar (or whatever you call it) repeats a lot of the same emoticons.

Very nice - I like the new look

I were thinking the same thing. Had it been opposite I'd probably liked this one better. Don't care much though.

Both this and the previous theme are mere default themes for SMF - no point in reading very much into it. They are being used because they come with it.

Whether Qhimm will ever finish his own theme is... a good question. Estimated time of arrival; about 5 years, I'd say.

As for the polls, I dunno if they'll ever be enabled for all forums. The poll ban has its roots in the old forums, 10 years ago.

I miss the old theme as default and plain as it was, in a strange nostalgic sort of way
I'll probably get used to this one in a matter of days however and forget about the old one methinks

The only thing that I see not-good is the fact that it doesn't have these (Qhimm.com > Off-topic forums > Completely unrelated > Post reply ( Re: New look? )) at the bottom of the page like the older one did. To me, it was a shortcut to exiting the thread when reading all the posts.

You see the little arrow thingie at the bottom right (says: jump to: unrelated), you click on that and bring the drop down menu and select public forums (or where ever else you wish to go), and presto.

It's at the top of the page, so you can either scroll up or change your settings (accessed from your profile) to display most recent messages at the top of the screen rather than the bottom.

Go to Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences ->Show most recent posts at the top.

It takes a bit of getting used to...

The old version had it at the top AND bottom, which was useful. If you set it to display recent messages at the top, you still have to go out of your way to scroll down when you start the thread. Either way is suboptimal.

This is a nice-ish solution. Still an extra click vs the old way, though.
