Releases / Replacement FMVs for FFVII
« on: 2009-11-19 04:34:46 »
I don't remember what came of it, but.... I know Grimmy released a different prelude and was looking in to replacing the scrolling text with pictures or something else.  I think it has its own thread, but you'd have to do some searching.

My bad, I just realise the 'Prelude' in this thread no longer had the credit words. It's replaced with pictures already xD and no need to search for a new thread I guess.

Or you could just use the beta installer. So far it seems to be problem free

LOL. Seems like you're really 'heavily promoting' the installer huh? xD It's like often people (including me) enquire about how-to-fix-this-and-that and you would say 'just use the beta installer', kekes, I just find it funny, no offences, ^o^

O.o what is this? A new project or something? lawls.

If so then it'll be interesting!

Firstly, I apologise for digging up a thread that has been inactive for quite some time.

May I ask if these FMVs will still be re-uploaded in 1280x960 like you claimed? Some of the FMVs here looks decent and I'm quite interested to have them ingame. I had already downloaded a few (despite wanting all, alas FileFront had had it's problem too), tested them but I thought the quality could be of much better. So I was curious about the status.

Also, is it so that the 'Opening Credits' and 'Prelude' both have the credit words? It would look weird IMO, because of the 2 occurence and repeatency. Alas if this thread is no longer under developement I shall once again apologise.

I've said it a number of times already, there are some random crash issues in 0.7.2b and they have already been fixed on my end.

Cool, I can't wait for the next release ^o^ I wonder when it'll be out? I wanted to use Nero's fullscreen start menu with 0.7.2 but with the many issues I had to hold on to 0.7.1 atm ):

Anyways, I'm really grateful for all these great works coming from you. Thanks alot ya!

8
Hm, is anyone looking into the issue? I hope what I've provided helped for a fix :D

Sorry for late posting. Here's the error that showed up when I tried to start a new game which initiated the opening FMV, and crashed.

Code: [Select]
Oops! Something very bad happened.
Wrote crash.dmp to FF7 install dir.
Please provide a copy of it along with APP.LOG when reporting this error.
Write emergency save to save/crash.ff7?

YES/NO

Here's the APP.LOG and crash.dmp:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AOOE2YSE

P.S. There were also a number of error (similarly) that occured when trying to enter the Highwind's cockpit and also when coming in/out (to/fro town?) the worldmap. There might be more :o

10
Seriously? xD So the 'Beta Test' is an installer only for the Overhaul or wuut? Does it include all of Team Avalanche's work? 'cause I like them all! T.T

11
Thanks for letting us know, but it would be a lot more helpful if you provide more information.
Was a crash.dmp generated? App.log?
What other mods are installed?
What was the error that appeared?

Any information you can provide will help this bug get fixed. Saying that something broke between the old version and the new version doesn't really help.

Sure, but it's getting late here. I'll install and then post back. I however had no idea on how to provide the crash.dmp as it's so long. Do I upload the file (as I never had)? :D

12
Sorry for being a retard but may I know how can I get the 'Summon Pack Addon' to work, there's no guide or instruction there T.T

sorry sorry, sorry sorry~ xD

EDIT EDIT: Damn, still confused :l

13
Is the server down? :o

Hey there. I just updated to the latest FF7 version of the driver and I encountered an issue. Note that I didn't add anymore mods after updating to the latest driver, all was done beforehand.

I tested by initiating a new game from the menu, and the opening FMV started to play. But not more than 5 seconds, the screen crashed and an error appeared. Apparently I had to ALT+F4 to get out of the situation. It happened all the time as I tried. So I decided to revert back to 0.7.1b version and bingo, the issue was solved.

I reckon that the problem lies with the latest version. I don't know if I'm the only one who got such an issue but probably many of you neglected it. So I guess I'd still be using the 0.7.1b version, hahas :D

« on: 2009-09-01 14:09:02 »
Lol, yea, I did have Aali's custom driver even before I downloaded this.

I always 'run as admin' for ff7. Do I need to set anything in the ff7_opengl.cfg too, like for the textures to work?

I need help with this! Q.Q I can't seem to see any differences at all (and yes, I'm positive that NOTHING changed).

I think I probably did something wrong. But this is what I do:

1. Downloaded Beta 7 to Desktop
2. Extracted GUI folder to Desktop, moved it to FF7 folder
3. Downloaded and moved lgp & unlgp into GUI folder
4. Moved magic.lgp, menu_us.lgp and flevel.lgp from original folders into GUI folder
5. Ran PATCH.bat (I ran it twice; the second time I did 'run as administrator' just to be safe, but..)
6. I moved back the 3 LGPs in the respective folders (although I did back-up my originals just in case, not sure if theres any differences)
7. Moved seffect1.tex from GUI to data\battle (as always, I back-up the original)
8. Moved textures to FF7 folder (asked me to merge or not, I canceled the option but instead moved the contents inside the folder to my FF7 textures folder)

I guess I did everything as the instructions told, but I couldn't get it to work/nothing changed but still playable like before.

EDIT: Omg, I think I've never been so detailed before, LOL.

Troubleshooting / The APZ Cloud Project!!!!
« on: 2009-09-01 09:29:10 »
Heya there, may I know if the 'APZ Cloud Final Battle' as included in the downloaded folder, is purely just the Final Battle version of Cloud or there is some modifications of it?

Sorry, cause I'm just not sure which one to use, the 'APZ Cloud' or that one, geez (and I'm lazy to try both out; currently using the 'APZ Cloud' version).

EDIT: Would it be possible to use both together? Like after I overwrite 'APZ Cloud' files over the original, and then add in the 'APZ Cloud Final Battle' to make battle.lgp?

You can use both, thats the whole point, one is cloud (rtaa) and one is the final battle (siaa), they both look the same, just copy all the files into your battle.lgp

Ooo icic! Thanks for clearing that up, now that I know, kekes! :D

This is a definitely MUST-TO-BE stickied thread man, saves us alot of time downloading and stuffs. Somemore its direct links, lovely ~o~

Great work, imma say thanks, if not for the links, I wouldn't have been able to download some of the mods (as those former threads of them linked to FileFront and doesn't seem to make me download).

Ugh, I'm interested in this but I can't seem to download from FileFront. Tried several times but still no avail. Not sure whether it's just my internet or that the server's at fault.

Is there any other ways to download, or probably a mirror link? kekes:D

Oh yea, and good job on these! I'd be expecting more great works from ya!

22
Uh, may I ask if the mirror link is completely same as the original? If so, then it's my stupidity that I couldn't get anything to work.

I downloaded from the mirror link and followed Aali's post about how to get things work (by just clicking the reg file to enter it inside the registry it said), but I failed.

I mean, I don't see any differences from before. How do I configure things, or do I even need to? Ugh..
Yes, it's the exact download Aali had up.  I'm guessing you're not using windows XP... try running different things as admin and see if that helps.  Also go into the .cfg and set 'fullscreen=no'

Uhm, sorry but how do I open .cfg files, with what programme? :S

Well, guess I've got to wait then, kekes! I'm glad that it's not my connection tho, cause my internet gone haywire nowadays

Thanks alot for the prompt reply guys!

Heys, I'm a newb here.

I can't seem to download the FF7 custom driver, I don't know if the link is dead or that my internet has got a problem.
Could you please kindly upload a mirror? :S I really wanna try this out, looks awesome!

BTW, does this support resolution 1366x768 (16:9)?

P.S: Sorry for any inconvenient caused.
