Hey kula_wende. It has been a while. I sure hope you do remember me.  :-D
As long as you said the word "scratch" then it should be no problem. Right guys?

I'd suggest finishing the model and the UV map before texturing, but it looks like you've got a good clean layer of texture started.

You can use only one "panel" and reverse/invert it to get the same effect. Frees up some texture

as it is, each of his panels are unique :P but yes that would be an efficient technique for that portion.

Just a wee tip,

If your going to post rendered pictures of your model progress,

Do so in a perspective or isometric view. oblique views make models look like cartoons.

looking good, your off to a really great start. I love the shape your at at this point, and the textures are looking good too. I assume in the final version it'll be a bit more dirty, and not quite as much bling factor?

If I had to choose a sword to be stabbed to death with, it would look pretty similar to that.
Great Jorb  :-)

Wow thats fantastic! can't help with the dotted lines though i think all higher res models have artifacts like that.

you should redo all clouds original swords, not only do they need them, But you're a good artist

my geforce 8800 gt has similiar problems with some games, so the problem can be in video card, or drivers, because when i try same games with 6600 gt everything works fine but much slower, and you made really good model:)
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: BlitzNCS on 2009-12-08 19:02:04
Wow, this is astonishingly good, i'm genuinely really impressed with this - although i'm not really an AC-stuff-in-FF7 fan, it's hard not to like Epic stuff like this.
The reason for the "dotted" lines is simple - The texture resolution is far higher than the default resolution can display properly, you're gonna need Aali's Driver if you want to see it in FF7 in all it's Glory.
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: drfeelgud88 on 2009-12-08 19:56:39
I agree with NeoCloudstrife. This sword looks beautiful in-game, but I too am not the AC-fan. Originality is always the best!  :-D

Post by: sl1982 on 2009-12-08 19:56:56
Turning on anti-aliasing in your graphics driver (when using aali's driver) will help as well, but could cause slowdowns on less powerful video cards.

No offense, but do we really need another Cloud? I mean, we already have this amazing Cloud from APZ and now we're getting this awesome Cloud from Advent Children and that's good and all but what about the others? Tifa? Cid? Yuffie? In battle, they look awful between the apz cloud. Again, don't get me wrong. Your AC Cloud looks pretty awesome, kula wende but if I had your skills, I would totally do the other models as well. Just to have one complete set of hi res battle models. I guess the others would appreciate it, too.

@ Cloud Cosplayer

Sir, I will just explain what i did and tell me what i did wrong okay?

I extracted the battle.lgp using lgp tools.
i copied rtac, rtcz, siac, sicz in the extracted folder file
then i made a new battle.lgp using lgp tools.

so did i do something wrong?  :-)
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Garland_Ilferet on 2009-12-20 09:16:41
nothing wrong..

hmm.. you did it the way i did...
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Soul on 2009-12-20 09:23:20

im also using aalis custom driver and ff7 prp. do you think its okay?
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: AngeBleu on 2009-12-20 11:51:27
Tetsujin,

-"Open" Battle.lgp with LGP Tools
-Extract ALL to a new folder, ex: Battle
-Exit LGP Tools
-Copy all Cloud's files: siaa --> sida to a new folder; ex: Cloud HI-Res
-Rename them to: rtaa --> rtda
-Then, copy them to your Battle folder you create
-Open LGP Tools and click on "Create" --> OK
-Go to the Battle folder you create --> OK
-Then Save to a new file: Battle.lgp

If it doesn't work, I can make nothing more for you ^^

:-o Wow, sweet dude. Maybe try adding slight highlights to the edges of the vertical lines? It's something i've always wanted to test out but never had the chance to try. Right now they look a little like painted line shadows instead of the actual parts of a jumper thingy :p
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Timu Sumisu on 2009-12-22 19:10:10
before you work on highlights, even out the lines, some are closer together than others. as to highlights, to the side of each resses (dark line) add a light line beside it.

i will try by simply blending on it with outer glow option

edit

this is usually do in the high poly models but if this makes look better to my model i will merge it

If you're finish with the Advent Children skin, is it okay if you send the link? By the way, I'm new here and seeing all these stuff (models and such) I feel like I want to be just like you guys. Once I get to study how to make this and that, can we team up and make more models together? I'd really appreciate it! By the way, I'm from the Philippines as well.

im not satisfied in this to fit in his clothes and apron i think this details are the classic style like kh and dissidia models, it needs more details in his face and to his nose or some blend on it, i feel it needs a slight realistic details Lets see if what im done.

how about you guys what do ya think? or is this fit?

nose is a little pointy and his eyes are purplish not blue his mouth is a tad to small and his upper lip needs to be just a bit thicker.

I'm no modeler or texture artist so i really cant talk much. But thats my opinion on the matter. All in all though i think it looks fantastic :-D

I think I have an Idea with your Cloud AC version. I know its bad to rip and all but why not copy the APZ Cloud's head. Then edit this and that and then attach it to the body.
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Soul on 2010-01-02 07:02:47
thats a good idea.. if only theres a way that kula can ask permission to apz to borrow his clouds head..
but i think kula wants his ac cloud to be original.. but he can make an exception for the head..
if he only wanted to..  :-D :-D
Title: AC Custom Models

I think his "pupils" suppose to be bigger.
This is Nomura Style(hiss chars always has circle shape of them)
And this is emotional thing:
(http://www.drawmanga.ru/images/em2_image009.gif) (http://www.drawmanga.ru/images/em2_image011.gif)
They looks big in normal and small in shock
Now Cloud looks strange;like "Hmmmm...Something wrong here!Better be ready for everything!"
well i think eyes should be changed in my opinion  :|

this is the first idea that comes to my mind before but i want my originality :-),

no offend to apz,, im trying to make it as closely to the ac cloud in the movie and i think the apz cloud Head is not exact or closely for the AC cloud, again no offend  (apz's original design is very good :-) )

and this is not totally finished im post it to know the opinions of everyone if this kind of design is enough or like what im feel it needs a slight realistic details to fit in his clothes

Post by: Cronus on 2010-01-03 10:09:14
Well, you do have a point there. I mean, if am to make my own model, i'll keep my hands off from the other works. But you can always base your works from the other works. Okay maybe the APZ doesn't satisfy you at all, but how about use the Cloud AC version in dissidia as your basis. That wouldn't hurt, right?
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: kula_wende on 2010-01-03 11:52:41
maybe its a good suggestion and ofcourse im using reference before im making this model but not the classic style im using a realistic reference, maybe i will forgive your suggest in the other models that ive plan to remake, just keep your eyes in the future :-)
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Cronus on 2010-01-03 12:31:03
Well I can't wait!  :-D Oh by the way, can you help me out with your first tsurugi. It only shows a white texture and i can't seem to make it as detailed as it should be. There are two files. RTAE (if i'm not mistaken) and i forgot the other. RTAE i believe is the file that consists of the design. How can I make it work? The model works but with no design. And I mean just with a white texture. :-(
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: kula_wende on 2010-01-04 04:36:17
open the rtaa file to pcreator you can find the rtaa file in the folder that you extracted the lgp files and in the top left of the pcreator hit open battle hrc and find the rtaa file then set the number of textures to 3 or something up, if you not a modder its not easy to understand if this is not work for you sory i cant help you But don't worry ill fix this problem to the next release.

Sorry Jaitsu! I dont know how to modify my messages. I'm new here..
Hey Kula. Can you make a non-chibi of this Cloud model you're doing? I like it better if its a non-chibi. Oh and not that I'm being bossy around but can you also include the First Tsurugi (including the Main Blade, if possible) in the release of this? The First Tsurugi you made has a problem. Some people are experiencing it too. The problem is the texture. Its all white when i use it. I hope you get to fix that problem. As in, make it easier for us to use it with the details. And I also hope we dont experience the same problem with the Cloud you're doing. Oh yeah, does this model include the First Tsurugi on his back when on field? Again, Thanks Kula.

You are the best! The best ever! I will forever bow down to you when you get to make this all work. Heck, even now I'm already bowing down to you. Once again, CHEERS! :D

Love it, but I do have a few criticisms.

Firstly the neck is a little too thin. maybe lower the whole underside of the head too, makes the chin look kinda pointy.
Also, they eyes are a little too wide. Maybe you could also make them a bittle longer vertically too, but I dunno, you're the expert :P

aside from that though, excellent job!

I think he's done with the battle field AC Cloud as seen in the pics. I also think he is done with the chibi field models but not with the non-chibi. But I sure do hope he gets to finish everything and I also hope that he would release all these soon.

Looks really really good kula! I can't wait for the non-chibi. I hope you get to fix the First Tsurugi i'm complaining about (the 'white-texture-only' problem) and include it in the release of this custom model. And I'm really really hoping for the fenrir and the complete sword of cloud. Like the vendetta, vigilante, merciless, avenger, ascalon, and sidewinder.

We should find a way to make a custom launcher so you can switch between AC style and original style

could always do what im doing, i keep a second data folder with all original files .rar'd and then can switch in between any time and make more

-EDIT-

by the way kula, are you releasing everything in one, or in multiple files (such as battle model in one, field model in another, weapon model in another etc.)
if you release it all in one, be sure to have folders that label what pieces the files inside purtain to they are to be used for, or a read me, either way's good. not trying to be pushy, just that right when i first started, i got confused easily so im sure others that will come across this eventually will be too

lol hey cronus, you gonna do what i do and just for the hell of it, recreate scenes from AC using these models (such as running around the forbidden forest for no reason other than to do it?)

but i agree, a release today would be awesome.

awesomeness

-EDIT-

alright, tried it out, everything looks great, however one small thing to critisize.

it seems that it doesn't replace clouds model on the world map for the chibi, it does in towns and etcetera, but on the Worl Map, it reverts back to good ol purple cloud.

not trying to be rude or anything, just lettin ya know what im seein, anyway, see ya, exams start today

I have a problem.. I downloaded the file and installed it. But when I'm about to use Cloud, his texture is all black and he has no head at all... no arms as well. Just the clothes with black texture. HELP!

 - EDIT -

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE??! I've downloaded the file twice... i've put the files into the battle folder more than 4 times... but it still gives me the same result! Here what I did:

Downloaded the file
Extracted it
Open Battle.LGP using LGPtools
Extracted it
Copy and then paste the files in the .rar into the extracted Battle.LGP
I used LGP tools to put them all together.
TEST IT OUT AND NOTHING!!

Now did I miss something? Like anything? Increase texture or something like that? Do I need a special kind of software? I didn't anything else but what I wrote above.

Well, yeah, world map uses a different Cloud from field areas, Kula would have to edit that one as well for it to show up.
Maybe in a future release.

Tested it, working and looks great, the skinny neck isn't really noticeable unless one of the field areas has a really low camera angle.

Okay I've read the instructions. I think I already installed it. I THINK. But when I tried playing it, Cloud remains the same. Can anyone please help me? As you can see, I've kept my eye on this and yet, this is what I get. Harsh....   :-( :?

APZ Cloud is working real fine with me. But whenever I use this AC Cloud, I get the black figure thing. By the way, I tried renaming siaa (final battle) to rtaa (normal). It turned out crappy still. But there are bits of him present than the one in normal (rtaa). But what the hell? Can anyone just help me? Please? Kula? Anyone?

did you try to open the registry file that comes with the driver? if your using 32 bit, you should use those..
if your using 64 bit, use the one with the 64 bit filename..

well, once you get your .cfg edited and saved, run ff7_opengl.reg, then do not, DO NOT, run ff7 config, that uninstalls it

the biggest thing you wanna run in .cfg is your resolution, you need to set it

okay.. first you edit your .cgf file that comes with the driver..
then double click the registry file that does not say 64 bit..
then click okay..
and lastly, do not open ff7config anymore..
you don't need those coz if you open it,
the drivers that you just installed will uninstall itself..

if i missed something, Jaitsu will just add the additional comments..

Edit:

Hey, that's a good idea.

Haha another problem... if i have to edit it, what should i put in? Can any of you tell me the best resolution or best settings? How can I edit anyway? I mean I know how but which one? There are like codes here which I do not understand. As I have said, this stuff is out of my reach.

By the way, the vid would help a lot but I really am scared that it wouldn't help me out. Oh and by the way, I am 100% sure now that my computer is 32 bit.

Well according to my screen resolution (which i found in the tab of settings in display from control panel) i'm using 1024 by 768 pixels. And it seems I can reduce it. Is that the one you're talking about? If so, what should I do next?

Hey Jaitsu. I guess i really need that vid. When are you going to make it anyway?

Here's the pic of my Cloud anyway. It is supposed to be Kula's AC CLOUD. I'm also having the same problem with Timu's Barret. Well I remember using Barret with textures. But after reformatting the computer due to a virus attack, i lost my program. So i had to install everything. And when I recovered Timu's barret, i got this. Here it is anyway.

hmm.. you can edit your resolution in the cgf your cgf file..
just change the 0 to what ever value you want..
but be sure that it is equal to what your current resolution is..
or it can be lower than your resolution..

Well, first I searched for it. When I downloaded it....
- I pasted everything.. EVERYTHING in it in my Final Fantasy 7 folder where ff7.exe is
- I opened .cfg and changed the two 0's into 1024 and 768 respectively.
- I double clicked one of the register file (the one without the 64 bit or vista)
- I then started running ff7.
- Poof... nothing

It says I can only change it to:

- Windows 95
- Windows 98/Windows Me
- Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)
- Windows 2000

I dont see Windows XP sp2 there.. Oh yeah, I also forgot to tell you. I didn't pacth my ff7 with Saint's High Res.. Cause whenever I do, everytime I boot my ff7, my screenm would just blink once. Then it will bring me back to my desktop. So I skipped that patch.

Well, I was playing ff7 2 - 3 weeks ago.. suddenly, a friend of mine sent me a message through Yahoo Messenger. I didn't expect it to be a virus. Perhaps you could call me gullible or a fool or a person who has a very low IQ. But seriously, I didn't know it was a virus cause the way how the virus was written is the exact way how he writes messages and how he talks. Anyway, there it started. So I had to reformat it.

You can Quote by clicking the button 'quote' on someone else's message  :-D

Yeahp!  :-D But after checking my characters, I saw my Cloud as the APZ Cloud (the way how it should really be). And then of course his other party members, Barret and Aerith. Both Cloud and Aerith have textures. But Barret's texture is just all black. That's Timu's Barret by the way. But before I had someone to reformat the computer for me, Barret looks fine.

I really can't wait. I think Kula's really really busy. Or maybe converting a battle model into a field model is really hard. OR MAYBE he's starting from scratch just for the field model! :-o
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Soul on 2010-01-29 12:36:22
haha.. i think hes just really busy..
coz i red it in someone's thread that you will just have to resize things when converting battle model to field model..
so he just need to resize some parts.. or even make his ac cloud cooler by putting his first tsurugi in his back in field model..  :-o
but its his choice.. just cant wait to get my hands on his mod..  :-D

Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Cronus on 2010-01-29 12:42:49
SAME HERE.. haha.

To those who wants to install this, make sure you have LGP Tools. Use the software to extract battle.lgp in data located in FF7 folder. Then save it to a folder (just create a folder). Then Get the files in this download and then paste them into the folder where you extracted battle.lgp. After which, click the "Create" button in LGP Tools. Then select the folder where you extacted the files (where you put the AC Cloud mod in). Then create the file by renaming it into 'battle.lgp'. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACK UP OF THE ORIGINAL BATTLE.LGP

like  cronus said, first you need to get lgp tools..
second, back up your battle.lgp file
third, create a folder (any name for that folder will do..)
fourth, open lgp tools, click file, then open lgp.. locate your battle.lgp in the data folder in the location where you can find ff7.exe..
fifth, click extract all then choose the folder that you created awhile back
sixth, copy all files located on the ac cloud folder that you downloaded in the folder where you extracted your battle.lgp
seventh, go to lgp tools, click file, then create new.. you should put the name battle.lgp
lastly, after its finished in process, copy your new battle.lgp and put it in the data folder located on your ff7.exe

if everything goes well, you should able to play with ac cloud..
if not, just use your back up battle.lgp and wait for others help or opinions..  :-D
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Cronus on 2010-01-30 02:56:15
Yeah! Like the way I did.  :-D
But of course... if no one can help, you have to do it on your own. But that doesn't mean they dont have to give you their support. Just chill and try it out. If it fails, ask someone to help you.. if that again fails, do it on your own. But that shouldn't stop from there. After solving your problem, you must report it to the people who tried to help you and tell them how you solved it. It would help people who are going to face the same problem. And who knows? Maybe some would make a driver or a software or a program that wouldn't need any of us to go through what you've gone through.

Oh hey Kula. I have a request. Can you make a model? A fenrir model in the world map? A fenrir model that replaces a black chocobo. (Not the gold chocobo.. so the gold chocobo would have its purpose in the game hehe..). And can you also make an AC Cloud in the world map as well. Both non chibi and a chibi for the WM. THANKS KULA!

Aside from that, I had to go through some problems with this model like the ones i've posted before. And see how I managed to still go with progress in school. I even solved this model's problem.

So yeah! Got any problem with filipinos?

To make the Field model work on the world map you need to save it in kimera as bbe.hrc then put it into the world_??.lgp. I think you could also just rename the aaaa.hrc to bbe.hrc, but I've never tested it that way.

For convert field model to worldmap model, Just extract both with LGP Tools to Char's folder and World's folder, and for exemple:

-For Cloud: (Char.lgp: aaaa.hrc --> aaga.a) Copy them into the world's folder and rename aaaa.hrc to bbe.hrc and replace
-For Tifa: (Char.lgp: aagb.hrc --> abcf.a) Copy them into the world's folder and rename aagb.hrc to dlb.hrc and replace
-For Cid: (Char.lgp: abda.hrc --> abja.a) Copy them into the world's folder and rename abda.hrc to ata.hrc and replace

finally create a new Char.lgp and a new World_us.lgp

Just it !! I tried and it's work !!  :-D

That would be another great task to be undertaken!  A group of people to go through the animations and make them better.   Not all would need fixing but with the "to scale" models we have now, some of the animations are pretty terrible looking.

Yeah but I really do hope he'll fix the height of Cloud. I also noticed one thing. Whenever I use the First Tsurugi, its too long.. Like the tip of it is overlapping the ground. It can only be seen after he do his winning victory pose. But the rest, its all damn good!

And i also hope he would make a high res vincent model. I dont think there's much of a difference between the Vincent from the game and from the movie.. Nor the dirge of cerberus. But yeah i hope he would make a high res for him including his forms especially the galiant beast (the first limit break if i'm not mistaken) and his last form: the chaos form..
Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: Tekkie.X on 2010-02-02 11:27:47
The reason Cloud looks so short is because he's used a correctly proportioned model to replace a non-correct model, the chibi models have larger heads giving the illusion of height.

Try a higher version of the driver. Just keep trying until you hit the right driver for you. That's what I did. Just go to Aali's profile and then check his/her last posts. Then from there, try every driver there is for ff7.

I think I saw a patch that would prevent your game from crashing or at least lessen it... I think its included in the FF7 PC NEAT PATCHES. It can also be downloaded via isohunt.com

Post the issue in Aali's Driver page. he can tell you more about it.
Cronus, no posting torrent sites please. And  those patches are probably all out of date. Aalis driver is really the only "patch" you need..

Heh, kimera can work wonders:

on a side note, this is the first model that i have sucessfully fixed the arms with the walking animation without it becoming all F'ed up.

haha that sword is *MASSIVE*.
Is that Timu&Millennia's buster sword?
I like it, though, cept his half-skirt and sleeve-dress aren't there...

Yeah, i took them out with kimera to make a more "Classic" cloud from kula wende's model, just to see how well it would turn out.

I never really cared for the half-skirt and sleeve on his left arm.

I also got this one on the bike as well.

Yeah, i used the erase tool to remove the skirt and the sword sheath thingy. Once i removed the skirt the sheath just looked wierd.

This is what ff7 really needs, some good field models

It's just the same Cloud that Kula made except missing the sleeve and skirt, you could PM Bloodshot and ask him for it as I doubt Kula would be happy with him openly handing it out.

@kula, not sure if this model is for replacing vincent, or his chaos limit, but in the limit break case, he doesnt have any weapon, so you may wanna consider that, not sure how death penalty would work in those animations, or if you wanna replace death penalty with the DoC one.

You've got a point. Chaos doesn't really use the death penalty in FF7, but it would still be an awesome alternative model for Vincent's Death Penalty. The stock one is kind of lame.

Could be if you compiled multiple p bones in a single file. If you add a textured sword you can't do that, it will probably apply the sword texture to cloud or vise versa if you do (though if the sword has no texture, but is instead vertex colored it shouldn't matter)

Title: AC Custom Models
Post by: titeguy3 on 2010-02-23 13:54:05
I'm not an expert but I don't think it works that way (easily, at least). I think the models would have to have the same number of bones, and they'd have to be labeled and oriented the same way, which isn't impossible, but the fact that rufus doesn't have wings leads me to believe the models would be too different.

I *would* be interested in seeing somebody try to make a new animation for vincent, though. I don't believe I've ever seen anybody successfully make a full animation from scratch.
I'm sure the modelers more experienced than myself here should know what that entails/if it's possible/if it's a pain in the ass...

It's entirely possible to edit one of his animations to display his hand being raised and then looking as if he fires a gun.  That's only time consuming.  The difficult part is triggering an effect on the enemy that would coincide with when the shot is "fired".  There would also be no gunshot noise, nor barrel flash, and would likely end up just looking ridiculous once implemented.

However, once he releases this, I may edit the standing animation to look he floats similarly to how he does in DoC.  As long as I get the motivation to do so of course

Well thanks, but Kimera can now edit animations.  All anyone needs to do is take the time to rotate the bones how they want it to look.  It's actually very simple, just time consuming

Lol.  All animations can be edited by anyone at anytime, the only people with rights to it are Square Enix.
The FF7 Chaos already floats.  But he floats differently (and it looks much cooler) in DoC

There is no reason to make a gun attack animation because I don't think there is any way to trigger special effects or certain sounds outside of hacking into the .exe...... well unless of course the Chaos attack sound is an original, in which case it could probably be switched with a gunshot sound using one of NFITC1's programs.

For now, let's just watch the progress of the model...

Ok, so I've been looking into this a bit, and I've downloaded AC Cloud. I have to say, by the way everything looks in the screen caps you guys have posted, and the model images posted, this looks to be and extremely amazing thread. I'm very happy someone would take the time to actually sit down and make these things, for free, and let other people use them, free of charge. Especially when everything looks so professionally done. I applaud you for your work Kula, and thank you for being so generous. Now if I can just sort out my problems with FF7music, and get it all running again, I can check out AC Cloud in game :D. Oh, and in case it seems like I'm not paying attention, I would also like to say, that is one sexy looking Death Penalty. I believe that Chaos is going to make just as many people happy as AC Cloud did, if not more.

you' d have to leave out the weapon files when you replace them in your battle lgp, they are 2 files, i believe ultima weapon was rtaa or something (not sure) and I've no idea what ragnarok was.

ok, so if not adding it to chaos works, why not replace the final gun for vincent (also called death penalty i think) with that model? at least that would make a little sense, would it not?

and about my problem, would reaplying the texture to each part fix the issue?

Hey jaitsu, i was experiencing similar problems with kimera and i was able to fix it by copying over all the .rsd files from the original hi res field folder,  as well as the .hrc file to the folder that i saved the edited model to and all the textures were there in game. Hope this was helpful. :)

ok, its worked for everything except the head, which is strange

hmm.. ok i will w8.. i try to go to to his site for the ff7 ac complete but wen i try to click the link there will have a user name and password.
and i dont have one.. i dont know where is the registration for the account.
also i want a motorcycle in the wordlmap instead of buggy or chocobo like the ff7 advent childen.. there's no chocobo there..
im pretty sure someone already made a bike model to replace the chocobo's with...

I also tried to pm kula about those things.. coz i also want them..
but he said the he didn't make those models and the maker doesn't want him do distribute it anymore..

and the bike field model thingy.. i know i saw something.. but i cant remember where..

hmm.. i see.. i also want ac model in complete patch but if he didn't want to share the complete patch it's ok there's no prob about that.. ill make it in manual.. it takes a lot of time before i complete the all character. and i dont knw where i can download the ac character.. for ex.. ac moded tifa, barret, yufie, vincent and the others..

and about the bike model in the world map.. i dont see other custom made.. i see it in kula site where the complete patch is in there.. i tryed to create a bike but it doesnt work i replace the buggy and it turns weird..

Remember. you're not actually replacing the .p files so the changes remain there(It did for me), However, this is just a really half ass way of solving this problem, i'm still trying to find a  real fix for this.

yes but does the hrc not dictate how each file is placed, as such if one thing is deleted or replaced, then by replacing the hrc that completely reverses the changes? also, i like the sword on the back :P

You can, but it'd require you to use kimera to replace the parts yourself for clouds model in the world_us.lgp - unless kula makes one, that is.

Not to be rude to you, but I'm pretty sure quoting your own questions in all caps and responding to them with the same reworded question - in

all caps doesn't really make you come off as older then 12 or 15.

ok true to that but i was kind of in a rush for a bit, so any ideas why the face would flash or glitch and maybe what file is associated with the problem?

secondly in battle i am supposed to have the sword from the pic or am i wrong because cloud does not have it in my game

Post by: obesebear on 2010-03-26 03:32:24
Lol, I've been in a rush before... can't recall it ever causing me to type in all caps, but I could just be remembering wrong...

Anywho,  I'm guessing the head flashing is in the field model.  If so, open kimera, click the head, click add part to bone, then add the head file again.

It flashes because the texture switches when the character is "blinking" to an alternate texture with the eyes closed.  Since there is no alternate texture in this model, it flashes.   Now when the head disappears, Head2 will take its place for that split second.

Well i'm still shaky with kimera but but, if it's the field model, open kimera, click open model, and where ever you have the files for the field model navigate their and open aaaa.hrc and you shouls see a cloud model visible in kimera, click the head and on your right hand side, click add part to bone and look for the file named rtao and then save the model, do not compile multiple p bones in a single file( you can try it but it crashes for me), this is where i'm stuck though, when i save the model and export it, it appears untextured in the game i don't know if it will be the same with you so try it first.

I just did the same thing with a different model and it also appears untextured in the field so I have a feeling that there's a different way to do it - at least for textured models.

EDIT: Just tested it with an older version of kimera - 0.91 works fine, no white textures. Seems that 0.95b F'ed up field model editing in some way.

awesome job kula wende. What is the poly count of your high res model? I have 2 GB ram in computer using kimera 095b to open his model and when I try to edit and stuff it takes forever. and My ram goes up 81% of 2 GB!!! o.O I have a 3,2 GHz proccesor and a 8800 GTX 768 mb graphics card. This shouldnt happen XD. I can open others high res models and my ram stays at 30%..

Just wondering if there is something different about your high res model.

I tried to edit so his arms doesnt look so wide open like that. but with the lagg it would take me days. XD if someone can do that for me Id greatly appriciate it.

A) Wrong thread
B) Why would you need *just* the dll? Isn't it bundled with FF7Music?
C) It's SUPER unsafe to post your e-mail address online like that. That's how spam happens.

I guess i find her acessories hotter (or kinkier?) in the original FF7.
Or maybe it's just teh b00bs.

Anyway i think it fits better the slums ambience, rather than the cute outfit she has on AC.

this seems really cool, and i'm pretty excited to use it lol. Just wondering where I should put the folder in so that FF uses those models instead. (I'm a bit of a noob sorry, but I love Final Fantasy 7 if it counts for anything =P)

Hey guys, need some noob help...

I just got Millenia's full pack of custom swords and they are AWESOME!!! But I would prefer to have the First Tsurugi from this model pack in place of Millenia's Ultima weapon. I have downloaded Kula's AC Cloud file and I have LGPTools, so I just need to know what files I need to replace in the battle.lgp to get the First Tsurugi sword from this to work with the rest of Millenia's weapons.

Thanks for the help!

Just copy rtcz in the battle folder of AC Custom Models then also change rtae because it is the texture file of rtcz.. :)

I replaced both the rtae and rtcz in the battle.lgp with the ones from the AC Custom Cloud files and Millenia's Ultima weapon is still there... I used the installer created by slr1982 to install Millenia's weapons, so is there something in that that's interfering?

*sigh* There's many people who asks this. Just use lgptools and extract the files in battle.lgp to a folder and copy paste the files in AC Custom Models download battle folder. After that create a new battle.lgp and its done. Also do the same with the field just with the char.lgp. You can also use Aali's new lgp.exe and unlgp.exe. I won't teach you how to use those though next time search the forums.

There was a mod like that before but it is illegal because it contained ripped models so it's not possible to get it now. He only released this AC Cloud model because its not ripped and Custom made.

Would it be possible to get a proper Readme.txt added to the file? I tried following your steps but all that happens is my game crashes when I get into a fight. Had to reinstall everything + my old mods. I don't mind and I'd really like to use this mod but I find your instructions leave out certain details. This is what I did:

Battle LPG Stage (Battle Folder)
1. Opened lpg tools.
2. Made a new folder called "Battle_Extract" in the main FF7 directory.
3. Clicked "Open" in LPG tools.
4. Selected "battle.lpg" from directory "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle".
5. Extracted "battle.lpg" to "Battle_Extract".
6. Copied and pasted every file in "Custom AC Cloud\battle" (including "final battle" folder) to "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\Battle_Extract"
7. Clicked "Yes to All".
8. Clicked "Create" in lpgtools.
9. Clicked "Ok" at warning.
10. Selected "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\Battle_Extract".
11. Clicked "Ok".
12. Selected "battle.lpg" from directory "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle".
13. Clicked "Save".

Char LPG Stage (Field Folder)
1. Opened lpg tools.
2. Made a new folder called "Char_Extract" in the main FF7 directory.
3. Clicked "Open" in LPG tools.
4. Selected "char.lpg" from directory "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\data\field".
5. Extracted char.lpg from "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\data\field" to "Char_Extract".
6. Copied and pasted every file in "Custom AC Cloud\high res field" to "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\Char_Extract"
7. Clicked "Yes to All".
8. Clicked "Create" in lpgtools.
9. Clicked "Ok" at warning.
10. Selected "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\Char_Extract".
11. Clicked "Ok".
12. Selected "char.lpg" from directory "C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy VII\data\field".
13. Clicked "Save".

If I've messed up a step could you please explain which step and what I should of done? I haven't touched the "Custom AC Cloud\field chibi" folder as you haven't said what if anything I need to do.

**Update**
Managed to get the out-of-fight Cloud to the high res version but in in-battle one is normal still. Any help?

Keep up the good work!

When you keep on repeating the steps I was tired of it so I let him do it himself. I personally use Aali's new lgp.exe and unlgp.exe. Its much easier to use . Thanks for the effort encoding those steps though I wish every member new here will see it.

yea i found my solution but bad luck in life just brought a whole new slew of problems for me and now i have to buy a new ff7 >_< cuz i dont think i backed up my disks correctly and i just moved in with my grandparents and some how he got into my collection of disks (i had them all in leather zip up case) he tore it open trying to get to the smell of watever was spilled in it a few weeks ago >_< i tried to back up the files and i was able to PLAY the game and mod it but when i use the Aali custom driver it reads the original lgp images from the backup instead of the new ones i made and its only the original cloud and i dont even have the tsurugi anymore >_<

had my friend across the street (who owns a ultimate edition) send that over to see if it would work any differently (just for test run) and i got the mods into the ultimate edition with the same black body headless one armed issue so then i threw the custom driver on there and again threw my backups on when it said to insert disk and it read the freakin original lgps instead of teh new ones this is soooo frustrating >_<

Hi guys I'm new here so I was hoping I could get some advice on a problem I've been having. I installed the ac custom model using highwind and the field model works fine but when I enter into a battle the game crashes and I get an error message. I went back and reinstalled the orginal battle.lgp and the battles work fine even with the ac custom field model, witch led me to believe I'd screwed up the battle.lgp for the custom model so I went back and made it again and when that one didn't work I made another one witch also didn't work. I'm really at a loss here so if anyone has had this problem or is just awesome that they know whats wrong please tell me.

P.S here is a list of the mods I've installed incase you need to know

ff7 v1.02 official patch
Team Avalanche's Graphical Overhaul
Aali's Custom Graphics Driver
Phoenix Rejuvenation Project

You used Highwind?? I never used that so I don't know if it works well. Try using Aali's new lgp/unlgp.exe. Its the most effective one. And when you crashed I'm sure its the battle.lgp with the problem.

I'm not really sure how to use Aali's new lgp/unlgp.exe being a noob and all. Do I have to download something to use it or is everything I need build into the custom graphic driver

I've used the unlgp to make it(several times) as well as highwind(also several times) but the game still crashes, with leads me to believe that something else is causing it but I've no clue what it is

I had this same issue and used your method to resolve it. As an addendum, an easy method for duplicating the 'final battle model' to 'battle model' can be done by the following:

Navigate to the 'final battle' folder through the Command Prompt.
copy si* rt*

I don't know why the normal battle model causes FF7 to crash. app.log only reports an unhandled exception with no additional information.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who was having the problem but if like me you want cloud to not have scars and the black sleeve thing on his left arm like in the non final battle version what I did was take his head, left and right arm files from the regular ac cloud and copyed over the final battle versions head and arm files in the battle.lgp and it works.

How's that Chaos model coming along?

kula_wende hasn't posted since March 1, and hasn't been active since May 19.  It may be a bit hopeful to presume that the project is still in progress.

(As I have attempted quite ambitious mods of the game myself, I can say that it can be terribly difficult to keep your motivation up, even when you do have enough time on your hands.)

just a quick question.

Does this AC model show him carrying his sword on the back?

because i've seen an AC cloud mod that shows him having his sword out (in the field).

No, it doesn't.  But adding the sword to his back yourself in Kimera would not be difficult to do.  Even I could do it ;)

(Scorpicus's Tutorial should be enough to help you on doing this.)

everytime i try to save it, kimera does nothing, and errors T-T

Could it be that you have an outdated version of Kimera?  Or maybe you need to install some libraryfiles...

Here's a bunch of links I found in another topic that may or may not help you out...

Which one do you need sl1982?
These are the versions that are currently uploaded:
*Kimera v0.7: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9K69IQPQ
*Kimera v0.84c: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VHUMTZ2Q
*Kiemra v0.9: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RNNEZC9N
*Kiemra v0.9a: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WXKD1EAJ
*Kiemra v0.9b: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1BT34199
*Kiemra v0.91: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LX8UER9E
*Kiemra v0.91a: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L4P7T2XM
*Kiemra v0.92: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UBK1O1L4
If you need something older, let me know.

-mod edit-
*Kimera v0.93: http://www.filefront.com/16569985/Kimera093_bin.7z/

Here a file I found some time ago that contain all the libraries I ever needed.  So if anyone lack some dll, ocx or any library files just download this, install it and it should work :-).
libraryfiles.exe (http://spinningcone.com/ff/stormmedia/Libraries/libraryfiles.exe)

i have kimera 0.95b. and the library files installed.

i'm running win7 x64, could it be because i'm running a 64 bit os?

I never even knew a Kimera 0.95b was out...

I guess I really need to keep up.

I'm not much of a computer expert, unfortunately.  I have no idea how to answer your question.

hmm. . .it seems like Kimera does not like me.

i went on to another computer to try it, and yet it still errors.
so i then tried an older version, and yet still errors.  :'(

I installed the libraryfiles.exe and use Kimera v0.93, and everything works fine.  This is on a Windows XP.

yeah i tried both kimera .95b and .93 with librartyfiles.exe installed
and it error'd no only on my computer but a friends as well.
we both have win7, but mine is x64, and theirs is x32.
so perhaps a problem with win7?

EDIT: and i ran the programs as administrator, and same problem.

That's easy. Use lgp/unlgp or lgptools to extract all from battle.lgp to some empty folder. Now look at the files in AC Cloud you have rtck-rtcz are weapons, just copy the weapons you wanna have from AC Cloud model into folder you extracted battle.lgp, then use lgp/unlgp or lgptools to create new battle.lgp from that folder. You could use replace in lgptools to do it faster(by opening battle.lgp and replacing rt*ck-cz with the weapon you want), but I find it a little buggy. Ah and you don't need to replace same weapon you want to add, you can rename the file with the weapon of your choice to change different weapon(for example - "loved" by everyone - nailbat) then tweek it's stats for your liking with WallMarket. To find which exactly ck-cz is what weapon you can look on Wiki, open the kernel.bin with wallmarket or for example opening model in Kimera or Biturn. Anyway it's simple rtck is first weapon rtcz last:P.

You can save that folder and mix stuff from different weapon/model packs untill you have all you want. For example when TA Cloud will be released you can just add this model without weapon files and get TA Cloud with AC weapon/s.

The downloads or the first post for each post related to releases goes to game tweaking. The download link is there.
