Hey guys. Welcome to my first post. Hope you're having a great day.

I'm new to Final Fantasy VII Modding, and a few months earlier, I got myself a copy of the old 1998 PC Version of the game. Needless to say, it wasn't a good experience. But after a few months of patience, and tinkering with it, I've come up with a combination to preserve the game in almost Vanilla state, with no errors in Sound or Soundtrack.

Example: The Vanilla game, without the official 1.02 patch, after escaping the First Mako Reactor, when it explodes, the sound just mutes. The official Patch 1.02 fixes this issue. When I did all these steps that I detail down below, without the patch, having the music and sound effects totally gone all of a sudden, was quite jarring.

So without further a do, let's get started.

1 - Install FFVII, wherever you want. Maximized Install.

2 - Install Aali's Custom Driver.

3 - Apply the Official 1.02 Patch.

4 - Paste this file onto Final Fantasy VII/data/midi  http://www.mediafire.com/file/t4wwy432vnm/midi.lgp
It's a file that mutes the MIDI music from playing in the game.

Update: You don't have to paste this file. You can just delete the midi.lgp located in the route stated, and it will prevent MIDI music from playing. I use the attached file for personal assurance since I haven't beaten the game on PC.

5 - Install FiceDula's FF7 Music, Cobarr's installer, and choose the type of soundtrack you want.
I choose PSF to mantain the game as close as possible to its original PS1 Counterpart.

Cobarr's Installer: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4vbotfeeeac52jo/ff7music_install_15113.exe

6 - And you're all set!

Hope I could save everyone some time, it took me quite a while to get the game running with the original PS1 soundtrack, so, hope I could be of assistance and, see you on later posts.

I don't even recommend my installer nor FF7Music anymore. DLPB's Anxious Heart is a far better solution, if you can actually find it floating around.

Also, when I get round to releasing Reunion.... the new musics have had loop points fixed by a program - cause a few were slightly out.

I know. I tried downloading Anxious Heart but unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a single seeder. So instead I tried to come up with a solution myself from what I could with the materials in hand. Thanks for reading!
