Troubleshooting / New Threat Controller Mapping
« on: 2020-10-15 03:23:34 »
Hi everyone, mainly I just lurk these forums but I've come to a problem that I can't seem to figure out.

I'm trying to play the New Threat (have the newest update, 2.094) and use my PS4 controller to input commands. Which, it works, but the mapping is all off and I'm not quite sure how to change it. Mainly because I'm unfamiliar with the keyboard to controller translation and not knowing what to call some things (such as, I know Square hides the menu in battle but never would have thought the command was called "Switch").

I'm using the Steam version of FF7 and I just used the New Threat installer to edit the files of the Steam version (IE: no 7th Heaven). I also have a program that allows me to map the keyboard to a controller (AntiMicro), but the controller is working fine on it's own, I just am having trouble with the configuration. So I'm thinking the problem exists between keyboard and chair, lol.

Anyway, this is how the controller vs keyboard is mapped according to in-game commands, and how I'd like to change it.

Directional Buttons: they're mapped to the joystick, would prefer being mapped to the D-Pad

Menu: mapped to square, should be mapped to triangle
OK: mapped to X, should be mapped to circle
Cancel: mapped to circle, should be mapped to X
"Switch": mapped to L1, should be mapped to square
Start/Pause: mapped to triangle, should be mapped to start.
Select: mapped to pressing left joystick down, should be mapped to select

L1/turn left: mapped to R1, should be mapped to L1
R1/turn right: mapped to select, should be mapped to R1.

This is all without the program. The program also works, but it won't override this config, so I end up with 2 inputs for 1 game.
I'm not sure if this is Steam settings, controller settings, or mod settings. Any advice? Thank you in advance.
