Did you maybe install it twice and alter the location of one of them?  I've had similar things happen but after installing and uninstalling a few times it always corrected itself.
You may want to try a general google search about completely uninstalling programs.

I can tell you that Square probably didn't expect to make all that much money off of the PC port.
If I remember correctly, Command and Conquer-esque games were the really popular genre in the late 90's so it's doubtful too many PC gamers were going to jump all over an RPG.

Hmmm... well if you are using some kind of downloaded version of FF7 (i.e. utima) it could have the models already pre-installed.     It could also be, though highly unlikely, that your antivirus or system restore is somehow blocking you from completely erasing everything.

Just my guesses.

I used the emulator pcsx2 I think it's called.  Then after grabbing a gamefaqs save,  I finally got to the ingame model viewer and used some other program on my pc that extracted directx information.

It's been many months since I did that and I can't recall what all I did to even get the game to start, and I definitely don't remember the program I used to try and rip the model with textures.  I just wanted to state that if someone wants that model badly enough, it might very well be possible to do so with the right tools and mass amounts of patience.

It requires quite a bit of editing to import a KH character into FF7 and have it look the same.

Unless you somehow find yaz0r's .obj exporter for the KH models

Probably just when they were released and the prices.  Square didn't make any changes (that I know of) after they fixed the grammar in the original PC port.

Also, I admire the work you're doing with Castlevania, have you done anything FF7 related?

Best of luck ripping anything off of DoC.  I tried a few months back with an emulator and, if memory serves, I got a lot of jumbled textures and that was it.  Good luck tho!

You can also check out the one somebody made for Jedi Academy.  I'm pretty sure he didn't give permission to release it in FF7, but you can always put it into your own game.  Vincent Valentine

I can't help in dissecting the monster skills, but I am curious what it looks like if you can upload a video.

I think it says something along the lines of he gained the knowledge of the ancients, but if he did indeed travel in his real body through the lifestream... then why is only half of it in the northern crater?   I thought his human body simply couldn't handle being in the lifestream for so long.
And I want to think in one of the Ultimania's it states that he was able to reassemble his body because of his strong will.  Though it would make since for half of his body to survive since he's half human half Jenova.

Well i always thought that Sephiroth's body didn't return to the lifestream but just traveled through it, then it ends up in what he thinks is the promised land.

By promised land do you mean that egg in the northern cave, or did I miss something?

He was never severed in half.  His body returned to the lifestream but Sephiroth's spirit/will was so strong that he had begun reassembling his body in the Northern Crater.

As a matter of fact most game companies do not like you taking their models and inserting them into other games, and especially not distributing that model to people who may not own the original game.

I personally can't tell it was taken from KH because of the heavy modification, and I think it could be released without so much as a C&D.  However, if apz freak is looking into a career in computer design industry it would probably be best to keep the KH ripped one undistributed.

But lets not turn this topic into another why it can or can't be released.   Apz freak, are you planning on texturing any of the other models?

Ah yes, I remember that.  While it does sort of make sense for him to be coming from the top of the Northern Crater, his body is only half formed and definitely not dressed in his typical attire.

I guess it could be possible that it was originally intended to take place in the Great Cave but I really doubt it.

Ultima espio is right, and the texts after Aerith's death are there because the text was made before it was decided when Aerith would die.

I am curious about the short cut in the FMV you're talking about.

this would be cool t'were it not an april fool's joke, as I firmly believe Aeris was supposed to die in the Northern Crater, my main evidence is within the FMV
What evidence is that?

ive got some unused editing software on my comp, and i was thinking about maybe remakeing a couple of the games fmvs...and seeing if i could get them to work like the ones they made for the ps3 release...(opening scene and sephi's fire scene if any1 hasnt seen them)

If you're talking about editing the Sephiroth and opening scene into the game, it's already been done.  I want to say Otokoshi was the one to edit them in, but I'm not positive.

found 'em... FMVs

No the SFX are not in the MIDI lgp.    If I were to guess, I'd say they are probably located in the FF7.exe.   You may want to try what Otokoshi suggested.

When you open the ingame menu and configure the sound option, are you sure you didn't slide both the midi and sfx adjuster to 0?  Just want to cover all bases.

Since it isn't a port of the KH Cloud there is no reason he couldn't release this if he decides to.   Apzfreak's model looks nothing like Cloud in either of those games and would most likely be considered an original work (fan art).

I've gotta say, it looks great!  The blocky version is hilarious.

I don't know if you need reference material, but silenttweak.net has every Crisis Core video uploaded.  May help your modeling.

Actually I think most eboot creation programs have an option to change your PAL iso to NTSC.

Also when you do get it on your PSP make sure you run popsloader on 3.71 (maybe 3.72), running on 3.90 doesn't work and I've heard 3.80 also won't work.

I think Myria Kitty was doing some work on the FF7Music, not sure what all has been done though.    http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7308.0

Exactly what SFX sounds are being turned down?

If you have a program that edits MIDI files, you can try opening up midi.lgp and one by one editing all of the MIDIs you don't want to hear to be silent.
Then repackage the lgp.    I still haven't had the chance to try this, so let me know if it works or not.

Also, deleting the MIDIs will work, however the music will start over when you move to a new area.

You'll see from one of my other posts that I was trying my best to get FF7 PC working on the PSP, mainly for the NPC RP.  Unfortunately it just isn't possible yet.

And yeah, it is possible to have FF7 PSX on the PSP.   If you had a doctored pic of the PC version on the PSP, you would've had me spamming your email begging for directions
