Wish we could sort the mods

It kind of sucks wading through all the mass entries for x FF title.  Is there some way we can introduce a way to sort them?

I think one idea would be to have a Released Mods section that either links to each mod - or where all main release mods are placed... rather than graphic, other, sound, etc...  Of course, we could add the type in the title tag.

We used to manage the Big List of Mods when Bootleg Configuration was around, but it's a pain in the butt to keep updated.

Sort/Search will never be satisfying on a forum, it isn't really made for that.

The ideal solution would be a database of mods that can be browsed with some web app, indexing with search and sort could be done with a free Algolia account to keep results instant and simple -- and also store the mod files in a central location, because links die and things get lost forever.

It could also serve as a single source of truth for a mod manager

But that is starting to get into the weeds...

A central place to store all mods already exists. There are Final Fantasy sections at Nexus mods, but it's severely underused atm.

We have a lot of posts with dead links and abandoned mods.  So many good mods got deliberately removed because of superceded or something.
