Why do I not currently have it? I thought I was going to be a part of this...

Hey! I just realized that this is the first topic started by me!  :D

Seph, I've already posted some names to Qhimm, but I have to at least give Qhimm some time to authorize each user. He says he will be adding the user priviliges manually so I will have to tell him who to add. Okay, I need to know how many of you NEED access to this forum.

When I say NEED I really mean NEED. I believe only people who wish to help out with the storyline actually NEED access to the forums. The tech stuff still have to be done here as to keep it open to all.

Considering the speed of which Qhimm created the new forum, you guys can expect to gain access latest tomorrow.  :)

I think we all owe Qhimm one.

Edit: I have access. The others on The SaiNt's list might want to try accessing now.

Obviously I can't promise technical advances, but I've just finished term at uni (and handed in 4 pieces of coursework) so I can work on my programs now. I might not get anywhere, but that's why you haven't seen much updates from me - now, there's at least a chance I'll find something new.

I'd like to have access if you're willing to give it, I'd like to see what you're up to and input suggestions on the story if I may.

How would the storyline thing work?

I mean, all the scenes are going to be the same, right? Is it going to be like the different version of FF5 ROM's out there. where the bubbles are just filled with different meanings of text? Or are the scene's really going to be altered?

Maybe I'll do a little playing with words in my freetime that will fit in the dialog bubbles (or can I make the bubbles as long and as many as I want?), that will make more sense out of the Cloan/Soldier topics...only problem is, I don't have much freetime.

Well, we will be using the current FF7 engine and changing the scenes. It's not gonna be one of those SNES style games. If you mean if there will be textboxes, then the answer is yes. We will try to retain the FF7 feel as much as possible. But honestly, it all depends on how much of FF7's coding we actually understand

Threesixty: The scenes remaining the same? Depends. If we can figure out most of the scripting in the level files, we might be able to create totally new locations. That's the hope, anyway.

:D if your team manages that, it won't really be a remake....it will be a squel (damn I need a spellchecker, this computer doesn't have word loaded....did I spell that right? I need to weed into that PB Master disk to get it back.)

Spell checker? Cant be bothered with that.

And  as I have stated before I have a freind that could probley draw to the quilitie of FFVIIs rendered back grounds if he had the write tools and enough time and effort. I dont think we could count on him doing many though. and he would have to mostlikely do them on paper then I would scan them it at highish res.

think about it.
