Congratulations!!
You are doing an awesome job here, pal!!
Still the Japanese characters in the upper screenshot of the 'Hardedge' are mirrored.
Maybe it's me... Should you fix it?

Indeed, I think they should be only in one side of the sword, not both.

PS.: Keep up the good work!!!! :-)

I just want to test the so called "unnamed background editor".
Needless to say, I know 7mimic, lol. But still... curiosity...

Does it work with the psx version?

You can just use the KERNEL.BIN and SCENE.BIN files from an existing FF7 PC Hard Mod, like this.
The only problems could be for new special monsters or field files features, but none of them are really important.

If you try what I said, just import these files into the ISO's with CDMage, for example.

The "leg" part from Emerald Weapon is here only for battle script purposes.
And for the "Safer Sephiroth" mistranslation I am unsure, but, Bizarro
was meant to be Rebirth (it could be Reverse too, but this has no sense).

Two quick questions so that I can terminate my project in the PSX version  :x:

1. Which kind of compression is used for code in .MNU files?

and

2. Which files store sector allocation tables for game data?

I've been told that FIELD.TBL, YAMADA.BIN, and a part of KERNEL.BIN
(probably the 'Initialization' section) store that info, but there could be
more files. I need to know exactly which files, and if possible, give me
an idea on how to edit its data. I've heard that Cyberman was working
on that long long ago, but I could not find anything about it.

Thank you!

You must decompress the file and then use a hex editor.

See this info.

There is a rumor saying that the original PSX FFVII will be hitting the PSN as an enhanced port before the end of this year.

Of course I know who you are and what you've done here, pal.
But also, I don't even care who you are. Just respect other people opinions.

P.S.: We are now in off-topic... don't you see?

Excuse me, funny-cute-cat, but this may be your forum.

Also: don't you know about respect?

We would need to know the tile-size limitation for each character and a colour palette.

Guides are not always perfect, I guess.

In PAL version it is just the amount of times
you've ran away, there is not a multiplier.

I think it is not in the NTSC-U/C version, too.
Not sure about the Japanese original game.

Edit: That guide is based on the japanese game, it seems. So... you know the answer.

Archive / Re: Aeris in Northen cave scene
« on: 2008-04-05 18:24:03 »
Long ago, it was stated that Aerith would have died in the Northern Crater.

There is a short cut in the FMV, and there are some other things pointing to it,
as there are many texts for Aerith after her death, and you know, the special
room in the Debug Mode that leads to the Northern Crater, with Aerith's Theme.

WIP / Re: Cloud Replacement Model
« on: 2008-04-05 11:06:02 »
Oh... sorry. I didn't know it was a KH ripped-&-modified Cloud model.
OMG, now I see that i didn't read you very well.
I thouhgt it was everything from scratch... *sigh*

Still, you've done a great job with him.
It would be awesome to see more characters.

P.S.: I am curious to see that SD Cloud model in-game. Could you take a snapshot?

That is the best Cloud model I've ever seen. You are awesome, pal.

To other people:
This is NOT a ripped Cloud, so he could actually release it with no problems, if he wants.

If you gain her final limit you will have 7 slots.

And if you have too much trouble for getting it just
use a save editor to put her final limit in your inventory. ^_^

123
No, I don't think you have to play it in the flashback.
My guessings are you have not well configured your keys,
or that your "sheet" is incorrect...

Troubleshooting / Re: Recording FF7
« on: 2008-03-21 20:21:54 »
If you play on an emulator you could use ePSXe to record it (it has that feature).

If you really need to record the PC version, I can't help you. I have never did it.

125
Don't remember, but maybe you need to be in Disc 3 or near the end of Disc 2...
Or maybe your "buttons sheet" is bad. Maybe you have a button assigned for two keys too. O.o
