The ugly logo basically ruins it completely.

CVGS? When was that last updated? Do you guys also use ZSNES by any chance?

Mednafen or Beetle-PSX (HW) are definitely still the best right now, by a long shot.

I thought the remake was going to be terrible, I was going to avoid it, but DLPB is making me want to give it a chance!

- Way too much happening on the screen at once, it burns my eyes.
- Did they forget the guitar in the boss theme? Is everything going to be orchestral now? ;P

...or maybe I'm just not as precious about it as you are?

You should learn to lighten up and enjoy things, you'll have a better life for it.

6
Wow.  That was a painful ending. So so bad.  Worthless writers.
It's OK, it's over now! I loved it. Have fun waiting for your books :D

7
I feel sorry for you guys who can't enjoy it. Must suck!

8
I really enjoyed episode 5

Game of Thrones will never touch that.  And even BB doesn't.
This has to be trolling

9
Honestly, though... no show has disappointed me with an ending as much as GoT.
You should watch Dexter next

I was hoping for more of a dark plot twist, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. The battle itself had me practically cacking myself throughout, so that's something positive at least.

It would be alright if you could run the pre-rendered elements through the shader, but running the entire game through it like that just looks wrong to me. The text is so distorted.

I found I had the most satisfying results with the 'CRT Royale' shader. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd suggest giving it a spin. I ended up loving it so much I got myself a PVM for the true experience!

13
Perhaps you should have a go at re-writing the season, I'm sure it would be a good read.

They're compressing an awful lot into a limited number of episodes, I quite like it having some pace for once.

If you want proper detail, stop watching it and wait for the books to be finished.

Just tested. Can confirm, 16 colour:

JASC-PAL
0100
16

16
Jasc (Paint Shop Pro) Palette files start with the following 3 lines:

Code: [Select]
JASC-PAL
0100
256

Then that follows with 256 lines of RGB values (each colour value separated with a space, eg: 0 0 0)
Simple as that :)

HxD has a nice binary comparison feature, if I remember correctly

Man this is just too good! I was wondering how it would be possible to top Part 1 but you've done it...  ;D

19
Wow, that's impressive on so many levels!! The editing is prime, it really makes these stand out from all the other FF music videos.

Looking forward to seeing more.  :D

Someone on that site has now posted the links again at https://app.box.com/s/b02715f2fe91cdc42fd1
Amazing! Thanks very much  :D
The finished result (for VII at least) seems to work fine in pSX, just running some tests now.

Edit: Works fine for me on everything I've tested it with so far, it can load a save game from any disc and the transition between discs is seamless (Doesn't ask me to save, either). Sweet, that's about 700MB shaved off.

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / [PSX] Merging Discs
« on: 2014-05-04 11:05:45 »
I recently decided to unpack my FF7 disc images and diffmerge them together in an effort to unify the 3 CDs into 1, for the sake of portability.
I knew there would be a great deal of hackery involved in removing the disc swap checks, but I felt up for the challenge.
After googling a couple of the filenames that were always different (namely the FMV index "MOVIE_ID.BIN"), I discovered that this was old news and some guys had already merged FF7, 8 & 9 into DVD format via batch script patches. Unfortunately, the thread is now a ghost town and it seems impossible to download the scripts.

Here's the link, if anyone is interested: http://ngemu.com/threads/disc-combining-kits.118402/page-2#post-1603061 (If this somehow violates any rules for whatever reason, please just delete this whole thread)

By any chance, has anyone got a copy of said scripts saved somewhere? I feel as though it's something that's missing from the grand archive of final fantasy hacking resources we have here.

22
Wow!! Fantastic effort. 20 minutes and only part 1?  :o

23
Do people still use this? Would it be worth me fixing it up?

24
Let's not forget just how awful a fair percentage of the 'white British natives' are now, shall we not? Think of those who have no desire to work, vandalise public property and reproduce like there's no tomorrow, there's a growing number of them and they certainly aren't immigrants. That being said, I still think the system is messed up and agree with you on some of the points you have made.

The solution to all the problems in this country is simple, we need another war, or better yet, a plague!

25
I will be interested to see what they do about sounds and music, surely they won't be relying on MIDI anymore? haha!
Also what do you think will happen with regards to disc swapping?
