The Zell love quest is not editable easily with Hyne. Some infos are in the field vars sections (editable in the hex editor), you can find it in Deling editor (but you need to read and understand game scripts for that).

Thanks for your answer myst6re,

I just used Deling and wow that's an amazing powerful tool, but even if I managed to kinda find the scripts group of the BGU Library, I'm afraid it's beyond my knowledge and skills.

But maybe I also misunderstood the prerequisite for this quest, do I need to never miss a stage of this quest? Or will I be able to complete it later nonetheless? I'm confused, between the 1999 French Official Piggyback FFVIII Guide where there is very few details about this quest, and some of the best GamesFAQ Perfect Game Guides where there is all the stages described but where some scenes seem optional.

Maybe you can clear that up for me?

I think I played too much Triple Triad xD

I went back again at the Library and she was there in front of the counter, I don't know why I was expecting her either behind the counter or near a book shelf, and I was also looking to her name in the dialogue box, and her text for this scene is a dialogue between her and another girl, and for once there is no mention of her name "Pig-tailed Girl" in the dialogue box, so I don't know why I thought that girl wasn't her, I think I focused more on challenging everyone to Triple Triad...

Anyway, my bad, but at least this allowed me to discover Hyne more deeply and above all to try Deling, a great tool to avoid some laborious video compositing to create parody, etc.

Most of save file is untouched by Hyne, it changes only values you edit and checksums (mandatory to say that the save is not broken). But sometimes when you change values, this implies other changes. For your change, this isn't the case though.

And no one will know you used Hyne, except by reading your post here ;).

Every draw points are listed, the first half is for field and the second half is for worldmap.

Hyne 1.9.0 released!

That is basically a minor update, but the Qt library was updated to major version 5, which implies some internal changes.

Changelog:
  • [Draw point editor] Adding indication if located in field or worldmap
  • Fixing keyboard shortcut conflicts if more than one main windows was instanciated
  • Improving detection of user's documents directory on Windows
  • Reencode source files to UTF-8
  • Migrate to Qt 5 library

i forgot that launchpad has a fatal error importing from git that uses submodules. as a result i can't import the newest hyne to the ppa .ill see if i can find some way to work around it.

The submodule is not mandatory for Linux OSes.
Unfortunately lanchpad fails to import to bzr (its interal code hosting) if your git project has ever had a submodule in any commit.  I will have to manually build the new hyne and upload it . not a big deal i just need to make a vm for it.

Hi, the new version (1.9.0) gives me this error whenever i want to start the Hyne editor:

''This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin ''windows''.''

How can i solve this?

I dont have any problems with the previous version.

Hello, thanks for the quick response, but the problem is still there.

Ok, I cannot reproduce it, it seems that I forgot something when I build Hyne with the microsoft compiler. I changed the archive again on GitHub, it contains a binaries builded with the GNU compiler. It should works like previous version now.

I just made a new  AUR package  "hyne-git"
for arch linux users who wish to install hyne's most current code.
i plan to also make a regular "hyne" package also for the stable release.

I think I found the problem: the qwindows.dll does not support self-compression. I re-uploaded again a new archive, I hope this will finally resolve the bug.
