Sorry, Can't do, as I explained many times before My Laptop and kimera seems to have troubles when dealing with field models.. It crashes and lags a lot that it's annoying so I'm limited to battle models for now. I believe JLoutlaw did a Chocobo/field/world retex on the tifa model using my edited textures I think you can still download it at the big list of mods, Also if anyone can do conversions of this battle models if they want to, it's fine with me ;D ;D ;D

Btw I lost my files due to HDD failure so it may take sometime before I can continue on the projects I'm working on. ;D

;D well for me resizing is not a way to make better art, it just makes the painting job easier for me, Easier work does not necessarily mean better art, LoL but I'll try what you suggest and practice on actual res, though it's a little hard to paint details like eyes on smaller res..

Ah.. I see,, but most of the textures which I used the double res methods are those where I need to paint faces which involves a lot of smudging so there not much defined edges involved, maybe that's why I did not notice issue..

This has saved my skin many times. As long as the data hasn't been erased or written over, or unless there's been an actual hardware malfunction, programs like this will always find your files.

Doing a 'quick' disk format won't actually erase data, it'll just delete the table of contents. So if all else fails, do a quick format and then immediately scan the drive using that. I'd try it first without formatting though.

Good luck!

Thanks but this one doesn't work, my drive is not showing on the options/Drive selection as is the case on other recovery software I tried.

Thanks everyone for your help!  I might be better off seeking proffesional help just to be safe, for now this is the status of my hdd.
-File System is now RAW instead of NFTS, not sure how this happened
-Still Detected by the Computer and shows up in My Computer, but Cant be accessed, cant format, cant do check disk.
-When Connected to a computer light is on and disk is still spinning
-Still shows up in disk manager and is classified as RAW file system

I really thought this was just a software problem since it is still detected by the computer, but then again I can't be sure, thanks again guys for your help, I appreciate it, LoL about the magnet I don't know if the guy is trying to help or just being a jerk, but thanks anyway.

I'll be sure to follow DLPB advice on backing up files, I usually have other back up for my files, It's just that this modding stuff is just a hobby I started recently so I kinda took the files for granted(which I regret now) I would have to start over on some of the mods I'm working on, some of the DATA's are floating somewhere and I might be able to recover some, but there will be delays on most of ny works.

I tried using those data recovery software, it didn't work sadly, after hours of scanning it gave a prompt saying it can't continue due to error, and when I restart the pc, the drive is detected as a removable disk, and not a local hard disk anymore, when I try to open it it says insert disk, in disk manager, it's also classified as a removable disk with no media. I'm not sure but I think it just got worse, I'm thinking of letting techincians work on it, maybe take the drive and connect internally of some sort just to get the files,

For now I can only grab some of those files located everywhere.. Data hording again..LOL

Yep I'm one of those who paint on double res, then resize in the end.. somehow it's easier for me to do brush strokes in bigger res.. It's always messy applying/using different brushes in small res images..

I used different cables already, it's still the same, I'm not really sure if it's a hardware or software problem. right now I'm trying to fix it using software means..

I am certain the thing where looking at is not textured, refer to halkuns post, he explained it already.

here to be easier,
The models do not use textures at all, they use flat gouraud shading with colors interpolated based on the color of each vertex point.

You know how you can shade the FF7 text window by changing the colors of the corners? That how they shade whole models in FF7.

I have nothing to add since it's explained well, Try to understand this first and Research what we exactly mean by texture files, it'll help, I know it's confusing at first but you'll get the hang of it, again use search when you want to clarify some things ;D ;D ;D

Yeah.. I don't really care if I won't be able to use the Hard Drive anymore.. it is always possible to buy a new one, but it's a diferent story for lost Datas.. I badly needed to recover at those, any suggestions on how to rcover data from a RAW file system?

I decided I'll try all possible means first to recover my datas before I hold a funeral for my HDD, LoL..

Don't mind the guy omega he may be just trying to help, he just not considered the data recovery first thing, Also base on his post count and his profile his an old member here.. must have just revived lately that's why we don't recognize him.

[EDIT] On second thought after browsing thru the forum, it seems this guy is out for blood, LoL.. Almost all his posts on other threads are offensive/Aggresive, guess we have this type of people show up every now and then.

GUess I'll try that when all else fails, I really need the files so I don't want to risk deleting them

Yeah I read that somewhere too, that magnets should be keep away from drives, I appreciate if your trying to help but I don't think using a magnet will help, It's too risky.

It seems I can't perform a chkdsk for error, it just gives me the unable to access disk prompt.

So I tried doing it via Command line, It says my drive is a RAW type so CHKDSK is not available..

I'm looking for a way now to recover files from a RAW file system type, wish me luck!

@ spoox

how do I make the RAW image?? it is still visible in the drive manger

I think your method might work I just need to learn to make that raw image..tut tut, gotta research more.. too early to give my drive a funeral

Hi! Had worst luck last night :'(.. for some reason I can't access my external HDD all my ff7 modding stuff are there and some other important files..

It says that "windows can't access the disk" and the drive appears to have zero on both used and free space..

Does anyone here encountered same problem before? or knows a way around this without re-formatting, I really don't want to lose all those files, it has all the mod projects I'm working on..

Thanks! ;D

ok this is wierd why repeat costa post? it's the same as the one here
Anyone ever notice the 2 dangling things in front of the MP waist? Is it supposed to be apart of a belt or they nunchakus or something? Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

Also that has been discussed and solved on the earlier posts, I suspect this might be an error when using quote option, if it is please edit your post to avoid confusion, ;D

Too bad I don't think I can finish the cid model in time for it to be included.. got worse of luck today, can't access my external HDD where I have all my modding stuff.

I never got 0.39 to work properly on my netbook before must be because of the intel chipset it uses, I got a new laptop but since most of the mods i'm using are not included 0.39 I didn't bother to install it, I'll gladly help testing 0.40 so a beta release might be good.

I'm pretty sure ff7 models don't have textures, aside for the face details on some characters. So I don't understand why you insist on body textures being messed up, read halkuns post above he pretty much nailed it already.

How would I be able to post an in game screenshot of him?

You can get screenshots by pressing CTRL + Prtsc button. then open paint or any image editing software then click paste, I'm not sure if there are other easier method, I always this one since you can get screenshots of anything showing in your desktop.

I should be able to follow along with your instructions, but what do you mean by "you might have to install more tools"? Is it another program or more mods?

To be specific you will need tools to extract and repack the files to install the custom model mods.. other tools like kimera and pcreator will be needed for installation of other mods. But most you'll only need an LGP extracting tool.

Haven't tried it, since model is not yet ported to ff7 format.. But I suspect it won't look as good, so after model is ported I'll make adjustments in the textures to make in more or less appear like those rendered images.

yeah, I guess it's cause of lack of textures, this looks great can't wait till it's completed, good job!

Oops sorry can't help with that.. I never tried it on the 2012 release but you can always do the "Try and see what happens method" just make sure you back up your files

Hi, I really would like to see what your current cloud model look like right now..
If you want the cloud on the remix version you can download the new one here http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13476.0
I also made a revision here http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13703.0

The current bootleg lacks the latest models so you might want to check the graphics section for the newly added custom models.

This will require manual installation though..
a quick run, manual install is
1. Locate and unpack the battle.lgp file(it is located in your data folder in the ff7 directory)(Unpacking/extracting the lgp file will make use of tools like LGP/UnLGP and other tools)

2. Copy the files you downloaded to the unpacked battle lgp

3. Repack the battle lgp then return or copy it again on the Data/battle folder , your done.

It's not hard but a little more complex procedure, also you will need to download other tools for it, It has been discussed a lot I believe and some models you download comes with installation instructions. If you cant follow those steps EQ2Alyza might help you but I suggest you do some searching on your own first.. Sorry I'm not very good at explaining things and I have no idea how much you know about modding ;D ;D

Yep, I think it's possible by altering the texture
