Weird disc issue
« on: 2014-07-06 05:57:42 »
So yeah out of the blue I am having an issue loading FF7.  Its not detecting the disc even though its in the drive and its asking me to insert it.  Its weird because this wasn't happening yesterday.  I need to test some textures.  Has this happened to anyone before?  I tried changing the drive path in the registry like I did in the past but it didn't seem to work.  Maybe the registry is different in Windows 8.1?  I have no idea.  Any help would be great thanks.  Oh yeah I have the old version not the 2012.

Have you tried it with AnyCD? http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=11564.msg161096#msg161096
You could label a drive or USB stick to FF7DISC1 or you mount an empty image with the name .

Yeah I know that but I figured it out.  Thank you.  Turns out I usually mount it on drive G: and my usb stick messed up the drive letters.  Does anyone know the reg key to edit to change the disk drive in Windows 8.1.  Apparently its not the same as in Win 7 because what I did for that OS is not working in this one.

The FF7 reg entries ought to have a drive path in them. If you mount a drive your mounting software should specify which letter to use (typically start at z and work your way back is the standard for network/mounted drives). That way physical drives won't offset these virtual ones.

That's what I thought to but I went through my entire registry searching for FF7 entries and never found a drive entry.
