This site currently still has the setup exe to install the VB Power Packs 3.0. I downloaded, scanned for anything, and installed. It should be fine but download at your own risk.

Nonetheless, I'll kept the setup exe in case of anything.

Hi. I know it's been about 7 months since the last post but I really need help with something. Whenever I try to edit enemy names that ends with 'n', or something along those lines, I get an error where I can't properly edit the enemy's name and it'll turn out to be something like, "Life Forbidde" or "Melt Drago". For example, I tried to change "Sphinxaur" to just "Sphinx", but when I simply backspace up to 'x', it'll look like this:



Something about the input string not being in the correct format.

Can you please explain what you mean by going into my FFVIII Folder (which has my BIN and CUE files)?

So you want me to open Deling, then to the folder icon on the upper left?

There's never seem to be a definitive way to get whatever's needed to edit some texts and spell names from the IMG file and putting it back together. FFIX's Hades Workshop makes editing stuff incredibly easy, but for some reason extracting VIII is required instead of just opening the BIN file in a program.

Aside from the fact I can't extract the IMG file with some of the IMG extracting tools I've used, I'm at my wit's end on what to do. Every search on this topic always leads to a dead end, and it doesn't help that people are focusing on the PC ports too.

I'll even pay if someone can edit stuff for me. I'll just be happy with a few changes. If you're interested, please let me know.

So this link didn't help none. Where in the Deling program can you "open the .fs files and extract the kernel.bin from it"?

Hi everyone. Not sure if this has been mentioned.

"Additional rows in inventory screen and command menu's."

Does this mean this mod can make it so the item sub-menu will be like the original Japanese version?

 

If this mod doesn't do it, is there another mod that can? Thanks in advanced.

Hi. I really appreciate this. Is there any chance I can kindly put in a request to just have the censorship removed and to rename some stuff?

"Buel" (the monster) and "Katal" (Kiros' weaopn) to "Buer" and "Katar". I would be very grateful.

Or at least a patch to rename the above stuff.

I think spell names are stored in the kernel.  You'll need the kernel editor to do that.

Thanks. Now I want to be able to rename item names that come out from treasure chests. I'm guessing those come from the flevel.lgp file, and editing kernel.bin doesn't update the flevel.

Hi. Can anyone walk me through, step by step, on how to rename Spell names (and maybe Monster names)?

I want to rename some things from the Reunion's New Translation, namely Poison Null (Poisona) and Status Null (Esuna). If I can rename them, I'd be happy.

When I open the .exe, I'm not sure what else to do other than type 'd' and press Enter, in which case it doesn't do anything.

There's no way to edit my last response, so I apologise, but are you (DLPB) going to update the retranslation database as more info about the Remake comes? For example, Barret does indeed has one 't'.

Or is it still a "purist" thing? Where is the line drawn, especially since the remake IS the bottom line in terms of modern and professional translation? Or do we just wait until it comes out and we complete the game/look through the datamine? I'm guessing that's what R07 will be about (I'm going to read through all 211 pages).

No other mods were installed, it's pretty much the standard Steam installation and Reunion on top of that. The game was installed on my secondary internal drive, full writing permissions and all.

This has probably been asked, but how do you install Reunion and how do I know if I did it right?

I have the 98 version. Do I ONLY need the Reunion installer? Do I have to do anything else?
