Support / FFVIII Character Model Textures

I'm not sure if there's already a thread about this, but I'm wondering how to extract or find the character textures to fool around with some headcanon-inspired mod looks (giving Selphie freckles, giving Edea a red color scheme vs. purple).  I've tried looking around for the character texture files (I also downloaded one of the already existing texture mods to see if the names of the files would help me find anything), but my efforts have been fruitless.  Would really appreciate any direction on this.
