Hey I'm having trouble using the bootleg.exe

I run BFE.exe and click "Run Bootleg" but then it just tells me that a bunch of system files are missing (Sprinkles folder, Bootleg_readme.txt...)

Command prompt error message:

BFE installation tab:

Mods directory:

Installed game directory:

Im using the 2012 version btw with kranmers v3.0 installed to C:/Games/Final Fantasy VII
Could it be a problem with the kranmers converter?  Whenever I try to run ff7.exe i just get a black screen for a few seconds, and then a prompt saying it has stopped working
But the ff7_launcher.exe works just fine.
Or am I just doing something stupid with the directories lol

i tried to apply bootleg to my ff7 game but when i got to the last step, where that little window comes up called bootloader and you have to configure it, i configured it just how it says in the tutorial but when i was done and tried to close the window a message popped up and said do you want to save changes to open gl or whatever and i clicked yes but when i did, the window would not go away so finally i just had to click no so none of the mods seem to have taken effect except for this weird cinematic in the beginning that I didn't want and was not in  EQ2Alyza's video.
PLEASE HELP as i have never played ff7 but i really want to. Thanks.

Hello,
I am receiving a "please insert FF7 Game Disc 1, 2, or 3 and try again" error. I have FF7DISC1 ISO mounted and have edited the registries for both the 32/64-bit files.
Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong?

    Thanks

Try this: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13604.0

I can't fix your FF7Music crashing. That's pretty much all on you to figure your computer out.

I also noticed in your APP log "ERROR: failed to set fullscreen mode"--- Are you setting your game resolution higher than your monitor resolution?

Did you set your drive letter in Bootloader Configure to match the drive letter your ISO is mounted to?

Thank you, that was the issue. However when I click play FF7 I get a black screen for a few seconds and then it returns to my desktop. I apologize if a solution for this has
already been posted but I cant find it. Thanks again.

Morelia, go into FF7Config and set a sound device under the Sound tab. If it's left blank, the game doesn't launch.

You could, yes. Search for the mod Anxious Heart.

Hi I have the same problem.  Installed game to C:/Games/Final Fantasy VII, put mods and bootleg stuff in C:/Games/Bootleg0039.
BFE installation tab points to C:/Games/Final Fantasy VII for the installed game directory, and to C:/Games/Bootleg0039 for the mods and bootleg.exe

I don't get how it can find the mods just fine but not the bootleg_readme when they're in the exact same folder and both tabs on BFE installation are pointing to the same directory?  And what the heck is the sprinkles folder lol I dont see that anywhere

I bought the new pc version, installed it, then installed kranmer thing to same directory.   I even tried pirating the old version and using the mod on that but that didnt work either.  Same error message (though I think the one I pirated had a mod preinstalled or something idk, all I know is it wasnt the 'ultimate' version or whatever that is)

user1990,
Make sure to run BFE as administrator.
Close any virus protection software.
Something is blocking Bootleg from copying files to the game folder.

I have bootleg.exe and BFE.exe set to run as administrator
Both of my antiviruses (MBAM and Microsoft Security Essentials) are turned off
and the directories are all non-program-files folders

Running windows 7 64 bit

Could this error be related to the game files?  Or is it definitely a permission issue

Just like that other guy I quoted, the 2012 version runs fine (ff7_launcher.exe) but the old version (ff7.exe) just crashes when I run it.
I opened ff7config.exe and under the graphics tab it said I failed 8 bit paletted textures

This bit shows the computer where to load the sounds and i doubt you installed the ficedula folder in c:\games\ficedula\ try to direct that path to where you actually installed it  c:\games\ff7\ficedula try to locate it to load from there

Based on your APP log, ficedula is installed in the correct folder. I don't think it's going to help, but you may want to uninstall, delete all the junk files in the games folder, and reinstall. I always recommend a folder path of C:\Games\FF7.

To me, this just seems to be a user error rather than a mod error. Everyone has different computers, and sometimes they run into their own issues because of how they are setup. I am afraid I don't how to solve issues for every computer setup out there.
