I was watching my sister playing ff7 on my ps2
I noticed a monster id never seen before
not in my 3 years in playing FF7 pc
so i grabbed me camera and took a few shots.
Its a cube monster, has anyone seen it in FF7 PC> or in Alhexx's FF7 monster viewer?

Well, I think I have checked *every* battle model in Ultima, however, I have NEVER seen anything like this!

my friend's told me that there's some weird memory thing that goes on there and it loads messed up model data and just slaps cached textures on there, don't know if it's true but hey...it's a theory

You are in luck, Captain Ahab. I have a save spot in the PC version...and it's the very one I saw the monster with. Here's a screenshot...

Whoa I've made viewer for all the FF7 monsters, and I never ever seen that monster before ... strange !!!

Afrotronics: noo IMHO messed up data would look differently, really messed up like, that model looks too good.

welcome back terrence,
so you saying it has differing attacks and status dependant on the side facing the player?
has to be said, if never seen it before, and i assume you can only find it in the screen with the fight with Jenova Death

The Notes are more just to identify which attack goes with which side, because it can use any of the six attacks according to its AI script.  It doesn't print up any move name: the only distinction you have is the side that turns up and the effect of the attack.

Killbins show up on quite a few screens, I think, but yeah, they're generally found *deeper* in the Whirlwind Maze than others (Dragon Riders, Gremlins, Sculptures and so forth are also around there)

And I'm not 'back'; I've just stopped semi-lurking for five seconds to say something :P

I designed a tool allowing to visualize or modify the enemies (FF7).
This tool is based on the decompression of the file scene.bin.
Then on a program which deciphers inside scene.bin the descriptors of the enemies.
The Date Structure of the descriptors was published on this site.
Ref:
http://forums.qhimm.com/viewtopic.php?t=2113 (FF7's .BIN Format Spec)
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/fremensf/forumff7/ff7hack/scenebinfileformat.pdf

We progressed in the discoveries by finding other information.
Excuse, but the publications are in French.
Ref:
http://forumsf.planet-shitfliez.org/viewforum.php?f=7 (Edition de Final Fantasy VII)

About the screen shot of the tool (VB6).
The tool is operational and allows to read or modify very precisely the characteristics of the enemies.
Here a screen shot where you can see sliders which make it possible to modify certain characteristics like HP's or Level's).
It should be prevented that the players meet enemies impossible to beat.
This is why the tool allows for example to modify the HP between two limited values, HP original * 0,5 min and HP original * 3 max.
First of all, it is possible to change all the characteristics, the screen shot gives only one example.
For example:
- HP
- MP
- AP
- EXP
- Gils
- Level
- Speed
- Luck
- Physical dodge
- Physical defense
- Strength
- Magic power
- Magic magic defense
- Links between the enemies and elements (Fire, Ice, Bolt, Gravity, ...): Death, Weakness (200% damage), Resist (50% damage), Absorbe (-100% damage), ...
The tool allows also to change the objects received at the end of the combat or the objects which can be stolen or the objects received by Morph.

Please, help me. I can not insert my image (.jpg)

I read in the FAQ that the images must be published in a publicly accessible web server.
Do you know such sites?

like increase their HP and Levels?
If so Id love to test it out :)

Yes.
I am testing now (with epsxe), you don't need to reload the game, you can just switch the scene.bin. Scene.bin is reloaded as soon as a battle starts.

If the tool works well, I will publish the sources (C for somme utilities and VB for the interface).
A lot of informations have been published at the forum shitfliez
