Title: Miss Cloud (Dissidia)
Post by: Touph Guy on 2010-06-30 12:55:34
I've been experimenting with Photoshop recently. Well, more like pressing random buttons and hoping for the best. But anyway, the result of my horrific crimes against pixels was an attempt at retexturing. My intended victim subject was Cloud's Dissidia model, which I decided to retexture to resemble the infamous Miss Cloud.
This is the result so far.

I'll have photos of it ingame soon.

Reminds me of the time I encountered this (http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/9617/girlcloud.jpg) while google surfing.

What're you going to do next?  Make shirtless Sephiroth green like the Incredible Hulk?

Lol at that one. ;D Anyways why does your model have a sword?? Miss Cloud don't use a sword ever since she's quiet. :)

Well, if I removed the sword, it would look ridiculous because nearly all of the attack animations use the sword.
It's still the Fusion Swords model and not the Buster Sword because I used the alternate costume as a base, but that will be fixed.

I assume that nikfrozty was assuming that any Miss Cloud remodel would be a field model rather than a battle one...

I'm running into some problems re-inserting the Miss Cloud costume into the ISO, but I've managed to get a shirtless!Sephiroth retexture working. With really messed up transparency, but working.

So you're using that miss cloud model to change the rtaa file of cloud to make it his default battle model?? I thought you're just using it to change the miss Cloud costume in sector 6. Anyways good job with the Sephy model.
Nevermind I thought he was doing the main game. How stupid of me.

He's not modding FF7, he's modding Dissidia.

Yes, it is a Dissidia mod.
Spreaking of which, this thread should be locked.
I'm sorry that I forgot Rule #2 regarding ripped models.
I won't post anything like this again.

Is there anything wrong with modding Dissidia?  How is this legally any different from modding FF7?

EDIT: Oh.  Never mind.  Just read the "New Rules" thread.  Didn't remember about the "you're no longer allowed to discuss ripping PSP models" thing.

Read the rules again, it is against the rules to rip models to put in other games. If he is ripping the model from dissidia to remodel it and reinsert it back into the same game there should not be any issue.

edit: Plus he is not actually discussing the ripping of the model. Only the modding of it.

How did you do this without breaking the textures?
Also, how did you figure out the texture conversion puzzle!? It took me like two solid weeks to figure it out D: (GIM type 1 to BMP to GIM type 2 to GIM type 1, and I also had to use about 4 different converters.)

as you can see, my attempt didn't go too well D: It might have been because I tried to mod the facial animation textures though.

Would someone send me the process on how to do this? Do you have to have a hacked psp or not to do this?

Yes it does, so no talking about it here.

NCS, how did you get an opaque texture in the game?
All of mine come out partially transparent, like this:

I can hex edit the texture to make it opaque, but that changes the filesize and makes it bigger than the original texture, which means it can't be re-inserted into the ISO.
Nice Crisis Core Buster Sword, by the way.

Wow that looks funny. :) Can you post a video with your mod?? I'd really like to see it.

I'm planning on doing that once I've dealt with the ghost problem.
Considering how little I know about GIMs and such, it may take some time.

Also, if anyone needs a GIM converter,
http://ifile.it/9qwxjnh/Dissidia%20M...ite%200.65.rar (http://ifile.it/9qwxjnh/Dissidia%20M...ite%200.65.rar)
contains one, as well as other useful Dissidia mod related things.

I probably converted GIMs differently to you. from what I can remember, I used two different versions of a program called GimConv.

1. Get original dissidia texture and edit it as you see fit

2. Convert to 'SGIM' (Just a name I gave to GIM v.2) using a later version of GimConv, the one that handles BMP>'GIM' (Really it's SGIM, it won't work as a dissidia GIM)

3. Get the early version of GimConv which can only handle TGA>GIM, but instead of TGA conversion, just use it to convert from one of the types of GIM to another (i.e SGIM>GIM). This should leave you with the original BMP texture in regular GIM format. I used some weird program called 'Puyotools' or something - which wasn't designed for dissidia at all - to view the resulting GIM files. they looked OK here, apart from the buster sword, which seemed to lose colour down the handle.

4. Insert back into model file with hex editor then recompress ISO

Oh and thanks, I also gave him "Crisis Core" style clothes (i.e I stole some textures for his face, top and armour and recoloured bits and pieces like hair and clothes). They did go a little bit weird though, but again probably because I actually changed the face textures for the CC ones, as well as the animation GIM for the face. I spent ages getting the pixels exactly right D:

EDIT: Just realised I still have the programs I used on my PC, just ask if you'd like anything
