7th Heaven / Re: Can't get Xpadder to work.
« on: 2019-03-09 20:59:44 »
I'm running Win 10/7H/Antimicro and it all works for me. So I don't understand why it wouldn't work for you.
There are many different factors that could contribute.
What controller are you using?
Which FF7_xx.exe are you using?
Which mods are active?
Install location?
Other programs that I may have running or you don't. Or Vice Versa. I can fathom MANY reasons why it would work for one person and not another.

EDIT: Actually, just tried running Anitimicro as admin and it worked...
Tried the same in XPadder and it also worked.  Don't know why that's not something I tried before.

Just need to figure out how to hook it in the game for autoprofile now... Maybe an AHKey Script that calls 7th Heaven and another program and kills the second program if 7th Heaven is closed... Or something.
EDIT2: As admin the thing can actually see the game now too. Excellent!!!

Tried to fix this myself, but the  iro unpacker hangs on extracting the Field models - Main Characters iro at ACHF10.TEX in Red XIII - WolfMan - Red Werewolf + Harder Items 30%\char\ every time I try to extract it and fix the problem. It is a simple problem to fix if you can unpack the IRO. May try deleting and redownloading it to see if that helps with unpacking it.

EDIT: A quick google search says this has been a problem in 7th heaven since at least 2006 and is a real show stopper when it comes to editing mods myself.

Yes. DPad still isn't functional, Triggers aren't functional. I'm working to just manually install all my mods again so I can just play how I like. Shouldn't be too terribly hard since I did it before, just have to remember how to do it. :D

Well, because this mod uses memory injection, that's why the Pad modifiers won't hook. I don't know how to fix it, but at least I know the problem now.

Any Luck?

7th Heaven / Re: FF7 GameConverter stuck patching

I've tried to remove keys after uninstalling each time, and I'm not sure if it is doing anything.

You are running "Windows 10 Enterprise" on an 64 Bit Operating System (AMD64)
now in 32Bit WOW64 Mode

This Script will remove the Registrykeys which are
used for the old (1998) Release of FF7.

You will need to remove these Keys if you want to modify a
Rerelease or a Steam Version of FF7 with some kind of
       "new to old Patch"

Should I go on? [Y,N]?Y

It just stays on that screen.
Do you have a virus scan active? Items making registry changes like that can trigger AV defense systems. And are you running the registry key remover as admin?

Hello, I have a somewhat peculiar problem, I was following the steps of the tutorial and for some reason some things just do not appear.

In the case when I'm going to follow the 5th step, in the part of the Workshop -> Update Catalog, I click on this option and nothing happens, in the tutorial it says that a message would appear in the right window speaking "'Update catalog from ...' 'but nothing appears.

Another problem that is occurring, when I click on Search also nothing happens, I tried to click on the refresh option, but it also did not solve.

I would like to know if it is possible I have done something wrong in case i am using the Steam version of the game.

Did you properly run the converter tool before you ran 7th Heaven?

I tried the solutions in that thread and none of them do anything for my controller. I'm using an XBox One controller, and while the profile apps recognize the controller, they still won't intercept the commands when I'm in game. The profilers work while the game is active, but the intercepted commands don't register in game. I get the feeling that antimicro works nearly identically to XPADDER, And Steam controller seems to do about the same. None input the correct commands ingame.

7th Heaven / [SOLVED] Can't get Xpadder to work.
« on: 2019-03-06 04:49:31 »
I like having Analog run, so I set up a profile with Xpadder on this. I set it to monitor FF7_bc.exe because I'm using Beacause and Reunion. But the thing never activates, like it can't see the game running through 7th Heaven. Ok, so I manually switch to the config. But Xpadder won't hook the controller inputs. Huh. If I run the game through FF7_en.exe, the game starts as though I started the Steam version, with none of the mods installed (and all my old save data loaded) and the Xpadder config works like a charm. It even auto starts when I change the target to FF7_en.exe. So what is happening with 7th Heaven that is keeping me from running my modded game with full controller support (including analog run, DPad support and triggers functioning)?

I have the CD version as well, but as this uses a custom .exe, it probably won't matter. But this is on the Steam install, moved to a custom folder (my steam library has a ! in a folder name in the path which I found the converter DOES NOT LIKE), and the mods run like clockwork. But my controller is limited without analog run features, and without support for the D pad or the triggers as action buttons in game. Is there anything I can do, or am I gonig to have to go with an older manual install of mods to get this kind of functionality?

How does this work on the Steam version? Do I have to do the whole revert hullabaloo to get the mod manager version working? Or would it just be better to use the LGP/UNLGP tool and pack the files into the LGPs directly?

61
I went to edit a save where Cloud was infected with Sadness, but it showed as fury in the editor. May do some experimenting, but initial finding is that they are reversed.

62
I believe it's a version check. BC saves the files with the header from an old version (98) and "to prevent cheating" SE disabled the ability to use saves from previous games. The Launcher of the game does the version check, so I just open the launcher before I do any edits or paste the files back in the save folder after the launcher is open. Fixes the problem.

After loading a game, if you save again it will not be a problem in the future until you edit the save again, that is.

He probably downloaded yours BEFORE you included the OGGs, Covarr. Doesn't excuse his arrogance, though, but I can see where he is coming from on that one. By the way, GREAT GREAT GREAT Addition. I've been avoiding FFVII music because of the bad looping issues. Now it's not a concern. Thanks Covarr for your installer. Thanks Final FanTim for your OSTRE, thanks Ficedula for an interesting alternative to the music, and thanks Sir Awesome for being plain AWESOME and doing something that was prorbably overlooked as an option to getting it just right!

Excellent boss. Thanks so much for this. That start menu screen alone is worth the download.

Anyone know where the "Flickering Materia Fix" that was used in this compilation is or how it's accomplished? I'd like to be able to run the game without the materia flickering off and on like a bad neon sign... I don't need the whole setup because I have pretty much all the other mods I want to use.

I've gone the rout of emulating Soundblaster support and using Soundfonts. In the end, it's less buggy than FF7Music. However, I WILL give this a DL for archiving and testing purposes. :D

68
out_wave fixed it. I don't know why I overlook these simple things when Troubleshooting these days. I used to be at least competent at FF7 modifications... Sigh.

Thanks for the pointer.

I keep getting a direct sound error. FF7 Music keeps throwing errors every second when I try to play the new music. Error message:
Quote
Error setting DirectSound cooperative level; please shutdown other programs using your soundcard.
Error code: 80070057

I have nothing else open that is utilizing my sound device. I've tried it with just my essentials and FFVII running, and it gives me the same error. The music files are there.

I hadn't restarted my machine since that latest installation It actually worked ok after reboot. I hate that I can't use this joypad (perhaps my PS3 one will fare better) but everything is fully functional now, except the joystick Thanks for all the help. I'll troubleshoot it later. And yes, I am using the Aali Hi res driver.

ETA: I downloaded the official software from logitech and fiddled with settings instead of using the "default" driver set that comes with windows 7. Fully functional and ready to play now. Thanks again for all your help.

71
This fix (no Joy) actually worked. Thanks a bunch. I'm going to recalibrate the Joystick and try again. Thanks a lot though, as i can actually get in game now, and maneuver the menus. Grrr. Though now the game always loads in a smaller window, no matter how small I make the resolution, the default game loads in a smaller window that doesn't reach the borders. Frustrating.

72
Awesome. I'll try this when I get home too, if the other solutions don't solve it. I hope this will work because I have no desire to load up XP. Of course, I don't even know XP will work for me, because as I said before, last time I loaded the game on XP, I also had a PS/2 mouse. Thanks for all your help, and I'll see if either of these files remedy the problem.

73
I already got ahold of ff7input.cfg, but thanks for thinking of me. ;) As for the game pad, I'll try uninstalling it and then installing the game.  Dunno though, it was never an issue on my old machine, but I was using a PS/2 Keyboard then too. Now I only have USB ports. That's the killer there I think. I'll try uninstalling both the game pad and the keyboard individually and/or together as a troubleshooting method when I get home from work tonight. Besides that, I'll try installing it on XP (I have a dual boot environment). It's just a chore to switch operating systems every time I want to play a game.

74
Same problem even with no keyboard plugged in..

I don't have another Keyboard to try, either. I never had these problems on my old system

Troubleshooting / Installed FFVII and have an input error
« on: 2010-07-27 03:19:05 »
It seems no matter what I try, the up and left keys are locked in an "ON" state, to the point that the game is completely unplayable. I don't know how to resolve this. It did this upon first install. Then I reinstalled and patched to 1.02. Then I reinstalled and patched to 1.02 and used Aali's graphics driver. No dice on any front, the up and left keys are constantly triggered. Tried installing with and without my joystick installed, and nothing changed. Any ideas?
