May 9, 2005 - It seems like we've been waiting for years to see Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII follow-up in full form. Well the wait is at last over. Producer Tetsuya Nomura has announced through the official Shinra Electric Power Company website a final Japanese release date for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Following months of delay, the video-only release will hit Japanese retail on 9/14/2005 carrying a price tag of 4,800 yen. A limited edition version will be released at the same time, with pricing to be announced.

It's nice to know that they've announced a release date. Many of us have been waiting years for it to release.

The U.S. release date is the exact same as the Japanese date: September 14th. Nice to have simultaneous launch dates.

Acording to adventchildren.net, Square really wants to relase AC in europe "Before the end of 2005". So hopefully you'll get it just in time for x-mas =)

Bloody buggering hell, they had to wait exactly until I leave Japan before releasing it. So I can go back to Europe and wait a few more months? Jeez, they're really trying to get me to acquire it illegally instead, aren't they? Like waving a slice of beef at a hungry dog only to snatch it away just as he's going for it. *mutter*

I don't see why it can't be released in UK same time as in the US. All that would need to be done is changing the format from ntsc to pal. Fair enough for other Europen countries the language would have to be changed but language wouldn't have to be changed for UK version.

I Guess that $40/Â£21 is kinda reasonable for a new release DVD (yah still on the expensive side for people with low budjets)

I guess it's not going to hit theatres? I kinda wished it would have.. Course after the first one bombed... well anyway.. I can't wait! I wonder if we will start reserving it at suncoast soon?

btw.. The article was talking about a UMD release.. They ARE putting it on DVD right? They are just doing a simultaenous launch to promote the PSP as well?

If they were really slick they would release the UMD first, but that would piss off everyone..
