FF7 XP Patch 1.4
« on: 2004-06-15 08:32:03 »
Hi there,

I read some topics, there was problems to get a running FF7 on WinXP. I had problems with this, too.
Being surfing on the net I found a website of a few fans who coded a XP Patch for the ultimate FFVII.

It's reachable under:

http://animevamp.deep-ice.com/main.htm

You have to click on Games -> "Programs" -> Final Fantasy VII XP Patch

Then you you can choose your language.

I've installed this patch and there's no problem with FFVII :D

Well, I'm new on this board and I have to say, this isn't a virus or something else.
I'm not joking with this thread. Go on the site ;)

Oh god, I hope my broken school english is understandably.

Do this one thing for us all, just go to search and search for the animevamp patch, and there are about 3 threads that will link you to the one where it says why you shouldnt use that patch, we all know about it, and we all prefer the chocobo patch to fix the only problem that occurs on all XP systems, the rest are preferable to fix one by one for whichever you have. Plus the animevamp patch has more going against it than I care to go into, better someone else post the link here for you, or you find it through a search.

Wavedancer: You should get rid of it.. and use the Chocobo Patch:

No matter for calling somebody sucker ;)

I know the chocopatch. I had all patches installed

    Video patch
    FFVII 1.02
    and the chocobopatch[/list:u]

Why should I patch the game dead, when I only need one patch? ;)

Ehm, did anybody see the date of the thread??? It's 2004 ;) ... and which offset was changed, the patch runs very good on my machine and I hadn't any problems yet.
The midi might be annoying, but usual I'm using the Yamaha XG Softsynthesizer. Ok, there's now a Backup names "gmbackup.dls", but however, it doesn't disturb me, because there's the XG with a better sound ;)

I didn't know there's a problem with this patch, but who is interesting for an offset of any patch when the game runs? ;)

I know that's an old thread, but afaik, the patch has not changed.

My problems are that it
1. Is a ripoff of other people's work without giving credit and
2. Doesn't warn you that it's going to replace system files (gm.dls).

If you like it, then good for you, but I don't think that we're about to start supporting that patch here.

Hm ... well, when it really is like you say, then ... I've never said the chocobo patch didn't run ;)
And I think so much peoples can't lie so the question would be "why should they lie?" ;)
