Archive / where is cloud's world map model stored?
« on: 2009-06-22 18:40:44 »
I was using kimera to modify cloud a bit to change the color of his uniform, and both the field and battle are done, but i can't seem to find the world map model.

What is the name of the file, and what lgp is it kept in? (im guessing either the char.lgp or world_us.lgp)

Look at this, look at size of the chairs.
Notice not only the size of the characters compared to the chairs but imagine if a tall slim guy sits on the chair. The table won't fit for the tall guy.

I think the world itself is designed for CHIBI

That's one reason I don't like TALL ones.

I think they don't look proportional to the world itself.

and the wide open arms reallyyyyyyyyy look bad on these tall ones.

but look really cool on Chibi and keeps the game's Original Look and Feel
Just look at his stance man. He's proud to be a chibi  :-D :-D :-D                                                                    Just look at lil' Sephy holding dear mama's head.

I suggest we leave the tall ones to the Official Remake of FFVII
and keep the FFVII look like the original FFVII we all loved but HIGH-DEF :-o :-o

I see what your saying, but idk i kinda like the tall ones better. Sure they might not fit perfectly at times, and i do like the chibi ones too, but there's something about having the tall ones that i like... idk maybe its just that i would like to see the same models in and out of battle, and although i do like the chibi's, i would rather have the tall ones on my PC version, and play the PSX original version with everything chibi, because there's higher res backgrounds and other stuff that makes the PSX version better.

On a side note, imagine a battle mod that makes all the characters chibi like the game!

Holy crap, i just watched some of the videos in your channel.

Dissidia cloud looks amazing in FF7, looks like a remake almost.

Great work, can't wait to replay 7 with these.

This mod is pretty damn cool, now all we need is a Dissidia model viewer/ripper to take cloud and sephiroth from that. (i'm a sucker for the original hair on cloud, and Dissidia's is perfect, game is super fun too.)

I'm just curious as to what all you guys have as your desktop background?

Is it FF7 related? FF related at all?
A different game/game series? or maybe not a game at all...

Lets see what you got (I'm sure you all know how to do it, if not - so help you god[or whatever you believe in])

Mine is one i made when i was bored:

Well Bloodshot to answer your first question, I think it depends. For my pc when I choose Software Rendering some textures still display correctly but vincent and tifa's textures are corrupted. So just try and see.

The second question, if im not wrong, then Silver Wings has a cloud model which is exactly as you describe. But I don't know if he will send you that model. Apz's cloud model is there for you to use. Besides I believe that slayernext, weemus and squeeble also have an original cloud model. I also made one for myself a while ago  :-D

Thanks for the info, and by the way about fraps recordings messing up horribly with the sound, what renderer do you use when you record? Because i get the same problem if i try to record on direct3D, but if i switch to software, sound and video are fine. I don't know if its the same for you, but its just a suggestion.

EDIT:

I just installed the full version, and when recording it seems to drop my fps down to 7, what fps setting are you using to record, and also, maybe the sound would work in the demo version, since the demo version of fraps records FF7 vids fine for me. But then again, im sure you would rather be able to record non-stop than put together a buch of 30 second clips in WMM

Troubleshooting / Re: FF7 D3D bugged on 8800 GT

I tried the hires patch a little while ago with the same problem, oh well, guess ill just have to play on software in 640x480, don't mind it because despite the low res, for this game it actually looks pretty clear on a 19" CRT monitor.

I tried them, but they didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Any other ideas?

I just tried it out now, amazingly awesome.

No doubt your Classic Cloud will be amazing, and the best of them all (I love classic hair the best)

By the way, in regards to field models, are you making normal sized versions (like battle) for field, because i use all the updated models that are regular size instead of chibi (makes me feel like i'm playing a remake), because it would be really wierd having everyone normal sized, then a chibi Cloud lol. (no pressure)

Troubleshooting / FF7 D3D bugged on 8800 GT
« on: 2009-02-10 22:47:45 »
OK, i got a problem here.

I recently reinstalled the old pc version of FF7 to install the mods, (Never really played it when i got it, always thought the psx version was superior) I got everything i need, the 1.02 patch, the fixes for minigames, and so on.

What i can't seem to figure out though is, when I use Direct3D as a rendering Device, and i put it on TNT, Some places are fine, but others have horrible polygons shooting out, (i think it might be part of the 3D landscape the areas are built upon bleeding through the 2D background.

The gold Saucer is a prime example of this:

It's hard to get a good screen of it, but ingame it flickers like crazy, (it's a little less harsh now, because I just got passed the Lifestream where cloud finds himself and the submarine part, and some people are gone.

I would love to play on D3D rendering, but this annoys the hell out of me (it seems to happen mainly in places with animated backgrounds, rather than stills) So i'm forced to play on software, but when i play on software, Countdown timers are slow, 2-3 seconds passing before 1 ingame second passes, makes it too easy.

I think the corruption is due to the fact that I have an 8800 GT video card, (could be wrong), because i upgraded from my old 6800 gt to play Crysis without my card overheating.

Is there any possible solution for this? or am I just an idiot, and I'm missing something important.

Wow, this mod is awesome, can't wait for it.

I got a couple of Questions though:

1. Do the models work on software rendering mode? Because even with the patch using Direct3D on TNT gives me these wierd Graphical glitches which are okay or non-existant in some areas, but extremely bad in others like the bike room in wonder square of GS, probably because i have an 8800 gt video card, so i gotta use software (unless there's a way to fix this for 8800 series cards)

2. Could you make the original cloud costume, but with the AC head from kh2 on it? because i think that would be the best, unless it's already done, then disregard this one (I just think the AC cloud's face from KH2 looks really good, alot like the movie)
like this:

3. Also if you can, could you make a Tifa with the original costume but the AC face?
like this:

(2 and 3 are obviously completely up to you, don't want to be pushy.)
