did he cast meteor rain, and heartless angel on you before?  If he hasn't cassted any of those moves yet your not even in his last 3rd of his HP.   during the last third he should also do double cut and blade beam.

So no one has beaten him yet?  I just need to know if hes beatable lol.   that last 3rd of his life kinda seems hard.  And i have to deal with him with natural stats only. and i don't have a save there so i can't tell.

-double cut that can parylize even if you got immunity
-blade beam damages all characters
-meteor rain 6 random hits
-shadow flare probably 15,000 damage
-pale horse adds frog status and probably other stuff and it can hit single character for high damage or all characters.
-supernova 9600 damage to all no matter what
-dean  deals damage and eliminates all positive effects
-heartless angel 1 hp 0 mp and death sentence even if you got imunity
-I don't remember anymore but i think he can counter as well.
-Beta dealing 8000 to 12,000 fire damage

So has anyone defeated safer yet?   I like to know if hes beatable? or if hes still easy cause i still left him a bit predictable.

Sephiroth in the final battle will die in one hit no matter what you do.  there is a hidden ai script for that sephiroth that ends the battle no matter what.   Its not in the scene file.   so at this time no there is no way of making that battle in to a real one. 

Thats wierd about the materias though.   Remove and odin is much more balanced then flash though.   I think flash has better accuracy then odin (levistan or other level 3 magics with all or even some enimies skills are better at field clearing then Odin.  Hes not very reliable).  It misses accasionally but not very odten.   And your not suppose to get experiences for remove.    At least thats what i remember unless TC changed the effects of remove.   And if your gonna make an enimie that gives loads of exp and ap there should be no easy way to kill them but that just my opinion.

I'm no programer so i dont really know how to explain it.   There was a thread from a while back maybe it was an old thread that talked about the AI.   chaning the attacks like that requires you to rewrite a section of the AI.   Or rewrite the entire AI and use parts of the old AI to make quicken the process.   since everything is in hex it can get complicated when you have to debug things.

I was so pissed when my HD failed on me and i lost my bahamut boss, and safer sephiroth like a year go.   I spent 2 weeks on those two alone since i was such a noob at the time.    I give up and came back later and created a new Sephiroth.

Yeah i added and deleted some attacks

like adding big guard instead of wall, added beta, spehiroths version of blade beam, meteor rain, and maybe some of there attacks that i forgot already.   and rearrnaged his attacks and some defensive measure to try and ensure that a cheap victories doesn't happen.   I think i need to improve on his defensive measure but i haven't tested all cheap materia combos on him.    And another thing is that my materias aren't as cheap as the original game.


MAYBE IMPORTANT NOTE

Something that I think you all should do when using this patch is to add shoot half damage elemental protection to safers elemental defense.  Why you may ask? because all shot/shoot element weapons in the original games weapons have a constant multiplier that can exceed 3x damage.   Its crazy how much stronger these characters are with Damage break.  I personally eliminated these damage multipliers in my game to some other multiplier except yuffies conformer but i lowered conformers Attack power to compensate.

Edit:  By any chance is there a editor for the psx version that can do something like making the weapon model part of the character model?   I'm trying to using a character model as an enimy and, well it displays fine in the game but the weapon is model is placed a large distance away from the character.

Where can i get the file MSSTDFMT.DLL.   It wont work for me.

Edit nevermind I got it working now.    How do i open files.   Isn't the LZS files fo the PSX and PC teh same.   Is there a ste or topic i can go to to read up how to use this program.

yeah I am the same guy.   But i'm not gonna release other bosses yet.  Safer Sephiroth and blizzaro are the most problematic bosses to mod so i decided to release it.  I'm playing threw the game to make improvements, so maybe in the future i'll release some or maybe others who can mod like me will release some of their work first.

Well safer sephiroth is suppose to be able to handle some cheap materia combos but I don't know if it was done correctly.   safer has about 777,777 HP as his weakest form.   He'll grow to either 1,000,000 or/to 1,400,000 HP and he'll also get stat boosts, but i'm not sure anymore cause it was one of my earlier works.   Originally i wanted to add more moves and more phases to him but the game wont allow me to add anymore attacks without eliminating some of his cenimatic stuff.  Miming KOTR probably will take him down as easily as the weapons.  In my game KOTR max power would only deal 35,000 to 60,000 damage and counter mime is not 100 percent.

I suggest you guys add my final battle patch to this mod to get a proper final boss battle.

lucky 7777 fury is when ever you hit 7777 HP your character attacks 64 times for 7777 damage.   

Basically lucky 7777 still happens but you don't get to attack 64 times.   There is almost no benefit to 7777 now but IMO its better to not have it at all.   If you were playing a hard patch even with ulimtate weapons you might not be able to deal up to 7777 damage so this is about the only time that lucky 7777 is really handly.     Lucky 7 is also good to have for KOTR and comet 2 or busting a limit break.

So basically lucky 7 can only be utalize with some skills not by pure luck.

The limit for the damage is 32,000.   HP Limit Break can be achieved via vincents transformation only.   I don't plan on doing HP break cause i don't like it.  but if anyone wants to attemp HP break i'll gladly get it just to have it.

Since people are having such a hard time making the final battle hard I decided to release this patch to make it a challenge hopefully.

Spme magic damage might be lower then on the video since i use a seperate Kernel.bin.  Sephrioth has 3 fightiing phases.  The first phase shouldn't be too hard.  Cangrats to those who manages to defeat Safer Sephiroth.
Those who are planning to use this on the PC version with the HP limit break this fights probably gonna be easy since i didn't make it with HP break in mind.

I hope they prove to be harder then the weapons.

By the way if any bug shows up please report it.   I'm pretty sure the battles have no bugs but I never did finish the fight.  Any comments are welcomed and if hes too easy please give me the reason,  I would like to improve him some more but all good save files i have are corrupted or I haven't reach him for a proper testing.


Other things you all might want to know.  Sephiroth will get stronger for every character with level 90 and up.   instead of only level 99.   Safer sephiroths version of Heartless angel reduces HP to 1 and MPs to Zero and i'm sure it adds additional effects as well.  Super Nova uses a different animation.

This will break the damage limit for the PSX version and it also eliminates the lucky 7777 fury.   Lucky 7777 will still activate normally but no fury.  After battle your HP shouldn't drop to 1 anymore.

hmmm just curious what games have you hacked.  Maybe it'll interest me.  give me something else to do instead of ff7.   Cause at this point i know pretty everything about ff7 that i want to know like, kernel, field scripts, scene, shops, and a few lucky attempts at other areas of ff7.


Just to let you know 0x0348 to 0x034B is the first enimies status imunities.  its the same data as inflicting statuses but in reverse.   Like say if the data is 00 00 00 00 that monster will be imune to everything.

maybe you can use this to update your scene editor.

Thats cool i'm in no rush i can always to things manually until then.   By any chance is it even possible for guys like you to take a look at some other games data and maybe conclude what kind of a compression program or method other games uses.   

I'm just asking cause I unfortunately dont' knwo any programing language and only learned a few things from stuff like rpg makers and working on hacking ff7.

I'm thinking of messing around with wild arms 5's battle data but I have no idea on how to even go about trying to decompress its datas.  Its a great game, and i love it but Wanted it harder heh.

Thanks M4v3R your a great guy.   Glad to see you back on this forum.  During my year or so of browsing this forum I didn't notice seeing you.   Well i only checked topics that i am interested in, so it isn't much.

I have been working on kernel.bin manually but since there is a program that can do it automatically for the PC version I though i might as well ask for a PSX version.

oops i downloaded that but i though it was gzip not dec.

is there a version of this program that will compress all 27 kernel files instead of stopping at 21, so that it can be used for the psx version.

It decompiles perfectly but when compiling it wont compiles kernel.bin21 to 26.

thats wierd this scene edit is totally different from teh one i used.  this one has no bug.   And wasn't one of the earlier scene eidt program had an entire list of mosnters or maybe i miiss took yuor program for someone elses program.


I remember there was scenester, scenedit, and ff7sceneedit.


and how do i use the scenefix program for the psx version.  everytime i use it it says it can't find kernel.bin.   maybe the kernel.bin file is totally different form the psx version.  The scene file is exactly the same as the psx version.

Edit it seems you did update your scene editor.   yeah you are the right guy.  I went back and dug up all the editor program and I had an older version.

yeah your version of scene edit that we can download always messes up the items.   Every single item on every monster we edit becomes potion.

I thnk the item becomes a potion even if we don't edit the item section.
