I hope this doesn't make things obsolete around here. I'd much rather enjoy the what you all make rather than what they do.

You are correct, try unzipping everything again. I ran into same problem when I first did this mod, tried again and unzipped correctly second time.
Also, bootleg can do this for you.
How would you go about disabling it? I think it's a pain going back and forth with the version each time the game crashes. I also let the game run a bit after the crash and the log file was over 3GB when I shut the game down, pretty funny.Well you can still run the game with the speedhack without the latest driver. Search for it. I think it was in the Game Tweaking section. It uses a patch and you can use an older version of the driver with that patch.
I'd stay with an earlier version, but I'm currently testing the game out with all the newest mods and stuff so I don't really wanna enjoy playing it, but rather just get through it so I use the speedhack which is only available with the newest version of the driver.

He already added one, you just have to buy a better video card or a new computer for it to work.
Seriously, that's something that just can't be done here. You want better FPS? Lower the resolution, turn off shaders, or get a better computer. This isn't a graphically demanding application.
Now, rage aside, this just isn't something that's technically feasible or a priority. You can't just "speed it up" under normal circumstances. Aali might find some sort of optimization that would make the game faster, but that's not likely to happen, nor is it a priority. On ordinary hardware, this game runs with no performance issues, and the custom driver already makes it faster.
