I hope this doesn't make things obsolete around here. I'd much rather enjoy the what you all make rather than what they do.

2
I have a full Bootleg installation and every time I fight Emerald weapon, the game crashes. I've tried Safe, default and HDR settings in the boot-loader without any luck.

It always happens after a while in the match, maybe after beating him? I'm not sure :)

I have two wonderful chocobos inside the barn now. How can I use Black Chocobo to make them Great and Good?

Thanks :)

4
I've been waiting so long for this game, it's gonna be awesome when it gets released :)

5
This tool looks pretty sweet. Do I have to download every mod that is red in the "supported mods" list?

6
Yeah, I just wondering about if I ever met a glitched texture when I played the game, will I be stuck or can I just walk out of that screen and find a save game and then remove that texture?

7
Will these glitches textures have me start from a previous save or do I get a change to go back and save if I happen to meet one of the buggy ones?  :P

8
Oh, and even if it existed, it's a slim chance that Dziugo will let anyone try it again I guess.

9
You are correct, try unzipping everything again. I ran into same problem when I first did this mod, tried again and unzipped correctly second time.
Also, bootleg can do this for you.

When you have to find and download everything anyway, then I don't see how bootleg can make it any easier on my part. I will try and extract everything again, seems like I found out how to do it right this time.

10
It would be nice if we could have a shot at it though, was there ever any preview of how this worked in-game? Maybe if we get enough people we could try and cast the first mission with voice acting, that would be cool  :)

11
I'm kind of stuck myself I think. I just want to play the game with the graphics I downloaded, but I'm not sure if I installed it correctly or because I just haven't encountered any new fixed scenes yet.

I unzipped FacePalmer.zip and then unzipped all the parts inside that folder again into each separate folder, then I moved the whole FacePalmer directory into the "mods" directory created by Aali's driver, and edited the modpath. Is that all I have to do? I'm currently just on the second bombing mission so I might have not yet encountered anything improved yet.

Also whenever I unzip one of the texture archives inside FacePalmer directory I get this path; e.x: ancnt1.rar = Facepalmer\ancnt1\ancnt1

To me that seems wrong and should only have been Facepalmer\ancnt1\.

Thanks in advance :)

There should really be an official Qhimm IRC channel, it's easy to use. Freenode has excellent services.

Oh, I see. I always figured sounds and music was just stored in a folder and you could just replace them with a better quality recomposition or something.

15
I know this is probably dead, but if anyone is interested, I'm interested to do some voice acting. So if something is ever started up again, I'm in.

What exactly is FF7music?

also, the remastered tracks aren't working because it can't seem to download due to the files being unavailable

How is this project coming along? Is the project leader still available? I'd like to help out if I may.

I also didn't understand why Rufus neede the Tiny Bronco, but if I rememeber clearly, the Highwind didn't work at the time in the game. Think about it, Shinra has millions of gil to spend, why steal some dirty old plane from 900 B.C?

'tis foolishness.

Troubleshooting / Re: Custom graphics driver for FF7/FF8
« on: 2010-05-29 18:20:52 »
How would you go about disabling it? I think it's a pain going back and forth with the version each time the game crashes. I also let the game run a bit after the crash and the log file was over 3GB when I shut the game down, pretty funny.

I'd stay with an earlier version, but I'm currently testing the game out with all the newest mods and stuff so I don't really wanna enjoy playing it, but rather just get through it so I use the speedhack which is only available with the newest version of the driver.
Well you can still run the game with the speedhack without the latest driver. Search for it. I think it was in the Game Tweaking section. It uses a patch and you can use an older version of the driver with that patch.

Indeed, but would mean I have to modify to the executable in order to run the library and I honestly believe that my executable is already modified enough so I would just ruin things :P The GUI overhaul didn't seem to work either when I went back a few versions.

I seem to have a problem opening wind.wav with Aali's new driver. It might be because I use such an overflow of modifications though. I installed the newest Remix patcher by TiteGuy and the latest project pack by Team Avalanche. I can just change to an older version of the driver though, but I assume the wind.wav is a fie that will be loaded more than twice in the game. The first time I was stuck was when Barret was about to fight Dyne and then it crashed again last night after Cid escaped from his town from the Shinra.

Anyway, I love the new driver, nice work Aali :)

23
How can I use the latest version of Aali's driver with this pack of modifications. Currently it crashes when it is entering the start menu selection screen.

Team Avalanche / Re: Resolution

1920x1080 here!

25
He already added one, you just have to buy a better video card or a new computer for it to work.
Seriously, that's something that just can't be done here. You want better FPS? Lower the resolution, turn off shaders, or get a better computer. This isn't a graphically demanding application.

Now, rage aside, this just isn't something that's technically feasible or a priority. You can't just "speed it up" under normal circumstances. Aali might find some sort of optimization that would make the game faster, but that's not likely to happen, nor is it a priority. On ordinary hardware, this game runs with no performance issues, and the custom driver already makes it faster.

Don't worry about my specs, they are top notch, but I remember I used a side-effect of Dziugo's patches that made the FPS increase because I think the game is generally slow. I'm not complaining or anything, I just asked if it was a possibility.
