I'm tried to use d3d with GeForce 4 mmx 440,
works fine but when I use D3d rendering mode to load the world map, the time load is much than software rendering.

Anybody can help me?

Like, how much time?  And do you have the maximum install?  Cuz if not, then the world map is loaded off the CD, and that can take a minute or so.

Doing a full install is a good idea.

This looks like it may be a similar problem, but I don't know if it was really solved.  Since he reported better load times with the XP patch, I suggest you try the 1.02 Patch (don't use the XP patch) if you haven't already.  Remember to apply the chocobo patch [again] if you're using Windows XP.

I do the full install of FF7 and don't patch the xp patch, but doesn't work

Just some detail: did you set FF7.EXE to "Windows 98 compatibility mode" ? When it is not set, the world map is slow to load.
