If you are using Aali's driver you should not run ff7 config. That will undo the custom driver.

i know, i re activate it once i finished in ff7 config :P

Open the driver config file in notepad and set it to your screen's max resolution. Make sure to save the file and restart the game.

In your ffvii pc folder you'll find a file named ff7_opengl.cfg open that in note pad and change the x y values. remember to save it and then run the game.

If you are using Aali's driver you should not run ff7 config. That will undo the custom driver, right? But you cannot use this without the driver. I'm confused now.

You can and it will show a bunch of garble at the top of the text, that is probably what he is seeing. It uses the original tex files which have been modified by us which creates random colored pixels in the top left hand corner. Funny thing is that the installer should have stopped him from installing without aali's driver installed.

so change

# set the window size (and fullscreen resolution) of FF7
# 0 means use original resolution (whatever ff7.exe provides)
# preserve_aspect adds black borders as needed to preserve a 4:3 aspect ratio
window_size_x = 0
window_size_y = 0
preserve_aspect = yes
fullscreen = yes

to

# set the window size (and fullscreen resolution) of FF7
# 0 means use original resolution (whatever ff7.exe provides)
# preserve_aspect adds black borders as needed to preserve a 4:3 aspect ratio
window_size_x = 1280
window_size_y = 800
preserve_aspect = yes
fullscreen = yest

got it, doing it now

ok, text looks right now, but im noticing thoughs weird dots near the text that other people were with the high res release of the installer, still, better looking then that super chopped up text

PEACE

You will also need to run the registry patch before you run the game. Methinks maybe i should talk to aali and see if I could add his driver to the installer.

oh definately, i read up on how to use the driver (though not how to configure it) so i know i have to run the registry, lol cause everytime i run the game without aali's driver, the entire land is just text with cloud standing on it (its like Disney's dream and our nightmare :P)

-EDIT-
might wanna wait till he makes the next release for it though, sinse it seems to have a crashing issue, mostly when going from the highwind to the world map

Ok i have the problem with the world map sorted out. Putting in the fixed diamond wepon right now. Will look into the limit bars and the problem with the low res numbers. Is it all just numbers or are the letters affected too?

The letters are affected also in the low res install. Numbers seem to have horizontal lines under them, and letters had vertical lines next to them.

Yeah, I had fixed them a while ago but they seem to have gotten lost at some point.

Must be an alignment problem. Crap that might take a while to fix.

Any idea how that happened? They were aligned perfectly?

Also people probably a temp fix for the text is to use the test from a previous version

The High res text works perfectly here, so it was just the 512 that needs work.

Yeah this is going to take a while, one way to make it less noticable is to turn fancy transparency on in aali's driver. It also improves the quality of the fonts

ok, thought about it and decided i'd quickly post a picture to indicate what i meant about little dots around the text, you should see them if you take a look :P

notice that most dots are under the text, but one or two are on the top?

Keep looking around and you will find tex files in a bunch of fun places. Lol j/k, i'm not sure why it does that. Better look into it, thanks for the tip

edit: That makes no sense. It copies all the other tex files in the folder to the right spot.
