Square Enix Teaser: Final Fantasy VII is that you?

Square Enix features the Roman numerals for seven, but we're surely being a little bit too hopeful to presume its Final Fantasy VII.

Square Enix has launched another teaser website for an upcoming unannounced video game. Featuring a glowing "VII days" and a countdown, your guess is as good as our as to what game it refers to.

PS3Attitude lists a number of options, from Star Ocean, Vagrant Story and of course Final Fantasy VII.

A current-generation remake of the PlayStation 1 classic has been called for by many gamers; you'd think Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII and XIV would be enough...

We should find out the truth on August 8th.

I would prefer they stop milking VII and stop degrading it.   If they mean to do a remake they should do it properly, but they most likely wouldn't.

There was a split second of a image of a guy when I loaded that page.
I reloaded, and print screened it, when his image came up.

Looking at the image in Paint, I don't think I recognize the guy. So I'm guessing it's not FF7 or KH related.

I suppose we'll know for sure soon enough.

So, two days now (which is to be expected, because 08 07 prolly means the 7th of Ausgust, and it must be the 5th in Japan now, what with the time difference). I wonder what this could be.

Does anyone know where on the Squeenix site the link was to this mysterious "0807"? That might give us some clues... nvm, but the link is in between an ad for DQ IX and one for Full Metal Alchemist; the FF related links aren't nearby.

Or maybe someone will be able to make something out of the Japanese text...

There a new image that flashes when it first loads now, I see soem sort of sword and a long hair but can't really
 tell as it's too quick.

This is what flashes up, I adjusted the contrast so it shows a bit better, Ialso tweaked the bit with the japanese so it could be read easier.

They're basing their guess on the recent trademarks filed by Squeenix.

Inconsistent art style on the cards is a bit of a fail, some are quite cutesy anime style the others are more serious looking.
