[FF10] Save Editor - FFXED (2019-07-23)
« on: 2009-07-29 19:39:47 »
Hello, I have created a save editor for FFX that allows you to edit many things. Any feedback is welcome.

FFXED directly supports the following platforms:
PS2
PCSX2
PC (Steam)
Switch
PS Vita

Download page:

If you want to use FFXED to skip to a certain point in the storyline, here are some helpful game coordinates:

I have added support for .psu files. If you are using PCSX2, just extract the save as a psu with mymc, edit it, and put it back into your virtual memory card.

New update posted. I have added an "Import" menu where you can import data from other saves. You can also edit AP and poison damage % for characters, and EXP for Blitzball players. Finally, you can edit the room position. Enter World Location = 371, Room Position = 0, and Storyline Position = 0 for a new game+!

Awesome!

Question though. Would it be possible to implement a sphere grid editor? I'd like to make my own, Just for fun. (my own maxed out sphere grid) tried yours, But it's not to good to start the game with XD (since all of the spheres are clumped together)

It would be very complex to make a full-on Sphere Grid editor, because you would have to match every value in the save file with its position on the grid, for three separate grids! That is a lot of work, and for what good? Why not just edit the grid in-game with some hacked Clear Spheres, etc?

The "Max Sphere Grid" option is intended as a substitute for stat-maxing, where people typically do exactly what FFXED does.

Finally, don't forget that you can use the Import menu to import custom grid layouts.

-Edit-

New version posted. You can use abilities as items now! Beware, some combinations of user and ability will crash the game.

For those wanting more comprehensive Sphere Grid editing, I have posted a substantial update for FFXED. You can now edit the type and activation of individual nodes on the Sphere Grid. There are also images to help people locate the nodes they want to edit.

Comprehensive Sphere Grid editing?
So does this mean you could actually make a 'hard mode' by lowering the stats obtainable from the grid, and setting to the new game+ position?
That's quite impressive, has anyone done or doing this yet?

You can change any node on the Sphere Grid to anything you want. Nobody has made any custom grids yet.

Here is what the menu looks like:

Does this work in PS2/PS3?
If so, how to i do it (export the save file to PC, edit and get it back to the console)?

1. Extract a save file to a USB drive using uLaunchElf, Codebreaker, or AR-MAX.
2. Edit the save file with FFXED.
3. Put the save file back on your memory card.

Watch these videos to see how I do it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSjEVyQnOTM

There is no good way to use FFXED with a PS3. Go to the FFXED homepage for more information.

In case you don't check out your thread on GameFaqs very often, I post my little request here too :

I really love the ability to scramble stat nodes on the grid, and I'd like to know if it's possible to do the same for the ability nodes (so that the program randomizes their positions - sometimes Esuna would replace Nab Gil, Flare would replace Defence Break, etc). It would be awesome IMO (playing with a different sphere grid every game, you'd never know where a certain ability would be). I hope it's possible.

I have posted a new version of FFXED (v0.737). As ArmorVil suggested, FFXED can now scramble the ability nodes.

Changes:
-Can now edit Sphere Grid type (Standard, Expert, Original)
-The "Scramble" function can now scramble ability nodes as well as stat nodes
-Some optimization was done to the code

I updated FFXED v0.737. Re-download it if you downloaded it already. Now you can modify the overdrive mode counters.

I recently played through FFX again, and used this editor to lower each stat on the grid by 1 tier (and if a stat could not be lowered, it was left alone).
This made the game slightly more difficult, while not making it stupidly out of balance, I really enjoyed it.

Since this takes a while to do in the editor, I have uploaded my save for anyone that wants to try it:

Final Fantasy X Hard Mode Download - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G4APGOXQ

This is an Expert Mode grid by the way. You can use FFXED's Import function to grab the grid from it, and onto your own save.

I have posted a new version of FFXED (v0.738). Changes:
-No nodes are lost when converting the Sphere Grid from Original to Standard (displaced nodes are relocated)
-Sphere Grid data is retained if the grid is converted back to Standard

Now when you say there is no 'good' way of using this with a PS3, are you saying it is long and/or complicated, or are you saying it can't be done?

EDIT: I checked out the FFXhackers site and found what I was looking for, thanks, looking forward to trying this out. I have been meaning to start playing through 10 again =]

So I've tried to edit my PSU save from PCSX2. It can't open it :( Tried it with saves I've downloaded from the net but none of them work either.

What is the problem? Where did the save file originally come from? Email me the save file ([email protected]).

Just says it's not valid. It was originally a .max save, I imported it into PCSX2 with Mymc, then exported it as a psu.

Should I send both the psu and .max?
