Well, today (march 21st 2011), it's the birthday of Nobuo Uematsu. He just got 52. I guess this is something we could talk about, right?

Uematsu-sama does not have a birthday.

He is an immortal god.

It's also redundant to note the exact date, as its stamped on the post.

However, the date is also not a part of the post, but part of it's header; therefore, it is not redundant to write the date in the post.

Under normal circumstances, I would laugh. Right now... well, I don't know.

The first thing people usually learn about this forum, is that we have an inability to stay on topic.

Comma splice.
I was debating between that or a Semicolon; seems I chose wrong.

In fact, they both would have been wrong in that sentence. Unless you're listing things, both sides of a comma have to be a full clause. You can't put the subject on one side of a comma and the predicate on the other side.

Your semicolon in this next post was used correctly, though. Only mistake is that it shouldn't have been capitalized.  8)

Uematsu-sama does not have a birthday.

He is an immortal god.

Are you proposing that he has always existed, or exists in a place outside of time space and therefore isn't subject to the same laws that we are?

Yes he is, and yes he does.
