Hello

I'd like to announce that one of my tools - Unmass - has been released with its sourcecode under GNU GPL licence. So if there is someone interested to see the sourcecode or to upgrade it please see this url: Unmass

It should be also added to the debian devel-games repositories soon.

One guy called Simon Engledew has recompiled ASE plugin for 3ds Max 6, can someone give it a try if it works ?

Hi programmers ! ... I want to present you a Biturn Bitmap Lib (BBL), its a library that my proggy Biturn uses for loading / saving of bitmaps. It maybe could help you too, if you work with bitmaps ... it also supports FF7 textures (.TEX), FF8 textures (.TIM)

Here is something frrom readme file:
BBL is code library which can be used for loading, saving and managing of bitmap data.
Currently reading and writing is supported for general use bitmap file formats: BMP, CEL, RGB (SGI), TGA, JPG, PPM, PSD, DDS (Direct X) and for game formats, : MMP (Etherlords), BLP (Warcraft 3), TEX (FF7), TXMP, TXMB (Oni), TIM (FF8), TEX (Viper Racing), Z80 (Speccy pictures), TEX (Mafia), RAW (Dungeon Siege). (not all of these support saving, and some might not work for some picture formats)


Its in form of .lib with c++ headers, so currently it can be used only in c++ developing workspaces. But I want to write some wrappers so it can be used also in other programming languages. If you think that it is needed and can help me with it, contact me.

Its a public upload server; files are not keeped there forever, they will be deleted after some amount of time, because I dont have unlimited space on my server. Also don't post there any porn or some other illegal material that could cause me trouble.

Hello FF7 fans and 3DS Max users, finally something for you :) Biturn now supports Max through ASE file format, which can be imported/exported in MAX; Format supports textures, objects, bones and vertex colours what is
just what FF7 model needs.

3ds Max-rendered joker is without colours because i still dont know how to turn on rendering of VertexPaint property in Max. I aint graphician.

Troubleshooting / IE crashes when i log onto boards

It happends on 70%. Can it be fixed somehow ? (i dont like IE, but i have to use it)
Its happends on IE5 as well as on old Win95 IE3 or 4.

I've made a document how to rip data from games FF7, Oni and Warcraft 3, who wants it's here, and download this software, you're gonna need it: Unmass, Biturn.
Possible outputs: various pictures and 3d formats.

One technical question here. Let there be a 3d coordinate system with axes x,y,z. Which way is up, front, left and so on ?

I think it is like Z+ = up, X+ = forward, Y+ = left; but im not sure if it is ok. Because I've seen also a system with Y- = up (it does not make any sense to me).

And also, how about rotations in this system, where is 'direction zero', and how should rotations be performed ?
(My opinion: zero = X+, Heading = XYplane, Y+=90; Pitch = XZ, Z+ = 90; Roll = YZ, Y- = 0, Z+ = 90; order of rotations is Roll Pitch Heading )

Hello
 I've made another program for FF7, this time it is monster database, with info about monsters. It can also display creatures from battle.lgp in their 'default' positions, but some are really screwed up, so they dont look very well (because it is only alpha version).
For this proggie you need a FF7 installed, or at least FF7 install disc.

Alhexx: I used your battle database alittle, hope you dont mind. It was really usefull. But I have changed some info according to mine & my brother's notes. Btw,  here is my list of monsters, that is used in Leviathan. Its a real mess, ill have to write some document about it later.

I'd like to know what is your favorite 3d file format, so i'll know what output should my programs produce.
Some choices
-LightWave Obj
-3D studio 3ds
-Raw 3d file
and so on.
If format is not so well known, please post also link to some docs, i you can.
