So mayo master got me interested in modding some ff7 again. So I am going to start working on spell effects again. Stay tuned for updates 8)

Yeah, problem is that the texture animations move too fast in 60 fps and the only way to fix that is to increase the textures and add more pointers. I just can't figure out where that's happening.

Thanks! I was wondering: is it at all possible to speed up this process by taking a given palette and then make a "Colorize" operation (or a Hue modification) on Photoshop (or equivalent)?

I tried that, but the problem is some of them arent just color shifts. But i have automated the process as much as possible.

As a note Aali's current driver has a problem with the average shader. It adds an extra transparency effect to the textures. While he made it work 'correctly' in the previous release some textures weren't transparent when they should, so he reset it back to the less obvious shader mode. However I think it would be better to let us fix these broken textures, and have an average shader, which do work better for the effects.

Well I am trying to recreate the textures as close to the originals as i can so it should look similar to the originals. If the shader is messed up theres not really much i can do in photoshop to fix that. Unless you know something i dont?

Join the club. These seem like general use textures that have lots of palette swaps. I noticed these while I was playing with texture limiting, but never found where they were called from.

They arent stuffed in any of the lgps. And yes you are correct. They handle many of the main use things like heal regen potions summon barrets gun blast and the dust when the characters run across the screen

As far as I recall, there were some small blue sparks and lightnings when Air Buster is about to explode, I don't know if that's relevant to some of the effects you made or the ones which have yet to be made.
I would gladly test the spell effects, although not right now - I'm having my hands full with the finalization of my fields at the moment. I may have more time afterwards though.

What is an IRO? These shouldnt require anything other then putting them in a modpath.

A year and a half of making mod installation easier for the average person (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14490.0).
.IRO files are the files that 7thHeaven uses. It acts as sort of a mod manager; most mods can be converted to its format with relative ease. The chief advantages of 7thHeaven/IRO are severalfold:
- It's much easier to manage an install with several mods at once without relying on an enormous package like Bootleg.
- It works with the Steam version.
- It significantly reduces the risk of problems caused by incompatibilities between multiple mods.

I've been following the latest posts. Kela is referring only to the magic textures I guess.
Though I'm pretty jealous on him importing the high quality summons from FFX :P I also remember watching that in one of Grimmy's videos on YT.

Nice textures, especially the bubbles and the lighting look very nice! The moon looks some dealiasing, smoothing and alpha cleanup out around the edges, though.

Sorry but i made a lot of work on magic's spell limit's are 90% complete and seffect1 and seffect3 are complete i still have a lot of work to complete this project and need to make a version for qhimm but i can't say when..

perso je joue e, version US avec tous les mods de 7H, et j'attends avec impatience la release 2.0 pour tester tes dernières modifs de la world map notamment, puisque EQ2Alyza les intégrera il me semble :)

Je sais que c'est probablement plus facile pour la plupart d'entre vous de parler français, cependant sur ce forum il est préférable de communiquer en anglais ou, au moins, dans les deux langues, comme je fais ici. Ça permet à ceux qui ne parlent pas français de participer à la conversation, ou du moins de suivre.

Pretty weird considering PCs were more than powerful enough at the time the port was released.
