When you hand Sephiroth the Black Materia the game crashes, Or after
speaking with Bugenhagen you cannot exit the scene.

These issues are created by a delay in the movie playback, causing
the game to crash. Run the FFVII Configuration
(Start>Programs>FFVII>FFVIIConfig) and set the video mode to
"Software Renderer". Also set the resolution to 320x240. Then
play through the section of the game. When you have passed the
trouble spot, save at the first available save point. You can
continue playing or exit and restore the previous configuration.

If you are running XP then install the XP Patch. Can be found at www.qhimm.com Is it when a movie is about to start when the game crashes? If it is then try and play the movie in Windows Media Player. If you can't play it then there is prob something wrong with your disks.

I heard the XP patch was a bloody ripoff. I had FF7 problems, and was prompted by a freind to download the XP patch. After that FFVII just played worse.
Grizzy: Is your CD scratched at all? If no, what graphics card are you using?
If yes, that's probably the problem. Try cleaning the disc. Don't worry about having cutscene problems, for the first three weeks of having FFVII it freezed after
Spoiler: show
Cid stops the launching of the rocket during the flashback
. If you still have problems, tell me about it.

We do not support pirated or downloaded copies of FF7 on this board.  Unfortunatley, many pirated copies seem to have problems with them.  You'll have to talk to people individually if you want help.

regarding ccd, if you wanna edit a ccd file, i recommend getting alcohol 120% (its a burning program),

1. emulate the file,
2. once emulated, make an image of it, into .iso or any editable format u require.
3. .iso can easily be edited with programs like winiso etc.

* note i also had a problem with my cd a while back, i found that boogdemo.avi was courpt, i just replaced it with another larger .avi, from the game, although it showed me a different fmv during the game, it still got me past that part and did'nt crash.

However, if you do this, you must replace the screwed-up avi with an avi that is longer (or long as) the one that is screwed up. If you don't, it will not work out as planned.

However, a less stressful way for Grizzy to do this will involve moving all the movies onto the hard drive and changing the registry to read the movies from the hard drive; You can't rename files on a cd, unless you do the renaming through editing an iso, which is actually stupid if you ask me. But to me this doesn't sound like a movie-related problem whatsoever. It's probably something really wrong with software or hardware. Can't pinpoint it, though. I'm not exactly there to analyze the problem.

Try to fully explain the progress of the crash for us, grizzy. Does it suddenly exit the program, or does it give you an error message? Does it freeze? Does cloud pop out of the monitor, and stab you? Help us help you.
