Are you sure it is staying at 30 fps in field?  I am using that version too.  perhaps windows 7 fixes something?

8502
yeah but thats a bit shoddy isnt it.. especially since WM and battle will be too fast then.  The game works fine out of the field in fraps.

For Zombie attack.  Contact your local council, governors or mayor (unless he is from Raccoon City) and make sure that YOU are prepared.  Better that, than becoming Leon Kennedy.

This is seriously impressive now :)  Will be even more impressive when autosize boxes is sorted out.

So far the new version I just tested is 1 exe that does all the work for you, and can remove all dupes too shrinking flevel by a meg or 2.  Editing with notepad and it reflecting only the files you have changed is great.

So simple.  I will use loveless only for tweaking now.

8505
Well he is as bad.  Too many are PC and only agree to free speech when it suits them.  Offending is not a crime, it is a byproduct of many intelligent arguments with people who are closed minded.

8506
Typical PC lefty hypocrite...  free speech as long as I agree with it.

Releases / Re: [WIP] Menu Overhaul Project
« on: 2011-06-08 19:02:59 »
You may do it , however be aware that the exe released with this overhaul is not finished and the installer isn't done...  so if you are using this project you are better off waiting until it is actually done...

If you mean the original menu reconstruction for use with Avalanche and the old graphics, sure, you are cool to use that also.

Just link to this thread and make sure to credit myself and Kranmer.

The problem is that the installer we do release will be pretty full and detailed, and it is much better and wiser to simply use our installer with your own rather than incorporate all the patches individually.

8508
That Asylum game looks very familiar...  I can't quite ....

 :o

 :-D

Cheers!  Setting xor to 0 should fix that but also from there it was possible to find 6e7b07, which seems to be the spacing value.

Cheers again!

This is how it is looking now.  I also sorted out the useless original spacing issue with loveless.

I invite you to go through the changes but most of them will not be changing because they are accurate, better or there is no word from the writers.  Character names, you will be given a choice  in the final installer, since Squareenix have retconned the intended translation in favour of the mistakes by Baskett, and most of them are now canon despite the fact they are wrong.

These changes are already made to the game files, and it is far from a "look at what we have done", it is used for me to edit and keep track of the changes, to let others see the changes and because this is the main project thread.  If you are willing to give good feedback I will listen, if it is moaning over the fact we are changing things you are nostalgic with, or if you are being an ass, you will find I am capable of being equal to that.

Does it also rise to the top though?

8512
Yeah I looked at this code... but I thought there would be something simple to adjust the length of the spacing between the letters (make spacing smaller).

Any ideas?

Or is it gonna take a little coding  8)

Failing being able to change the space size, eliminating the spaces altogether would help.

8513
Spaced characters (opcode FEE9) any idea where this is used in the exe...? I did a little digging, perhaps I missed it.  This creates large spaces between characters in dialogue.

8514
 8)  The Eagle has landed.

8515
I don't understand why though, I don't have the problem with ff8 or any other game.  Perhaps ff7 just does something fraps does not like.  It doesn't matter how good the system, or harddrive, or resolution, it seems to do it.

8516
Sorry people.  I must repeat myself a 3rd time, and in light of the now more professional atmosphere here, perhaps someone can shed some light on this issue.

When in field, using Fraps, the fps drops to like 27-28 fps when recording.  I have tried everything I can think of, including different systems but it always stutters as it never achieves the full 30.

FF8 does.....

Given ff8 does work as intended I can't see this being a sorely Fraps issue...

edit:

fraps 3.4.4 seems to fare better in terms of fluid movement...  doesn't seem to be jittery like the older fraps, although the fps is still saying it is dropping to 28.

edit 2:  nope.  When the recording is viewed back it jitters.  For some reason fraps is losing 2 fps when recording and that seems to be regardless of system.  At least, with me it is.

facepalmer hahaha  love it.

If this works like I think it does, it will be a huge help to people!

8518
The graphics for the locations on the map:  Kalm, Gold Saucer, Niblheim, Chocobo Farm.  They aren't done.  They are all the original graphics and do not blend in with the newer world map textures.

8519
Are you sorting the place graphics?  At moment they don't blend right so look like squares.

It is true actually, although Bush really was not a good speaker, he is intelligent and down to earth. The problem is his early naivety to world politics and the fact that he and the Americans (and the british) are sending men and women to die in futile wars with a people who will go back to dictatorship the second the troops leave.

I'd say Bush is naive of that, and so is Obama and most politicians.  But thick he is not.  It is just that the lib left media find it attractive to relentlessly knock a person who fundamentally disagrees with a lot of their ... shortsighed philosophy.  I don't see the right wing go as far as the left do in their attacks although i've seen plenty of hostility from both.

If you have any issues with the menu then run them by me.  I might be able to help.  Also look at the menu overhaul project by me and kramner, in the first post I have left most of the hex values we have found in a rar file.

It may prove useful to you...
