MRW I put save files in my user folder and not my root save folder

It worked. Everything's perfect. I love you all.

I hadn't set up ff7_bc.exe as the launchable.

However, now I'm back to crashing once the main menu is up. I have tried several variations throughout the day in terms of installation ( included following the guide to the letter, twice ) along with experiments here and there, but nothing is bringing me back to a working state.

My most recent attempt:

*Uninstall via Steam
*Remove FF7 Directory
*Use FF7-REMOVE-Keys.exe
*Reinstall FF7 via steam
*Use FF7_GameConverter_7H.exe
*Unzip 7H_1.54
*Update to 1.55
*Configure OpenGL
*Place Save files in user_<id> folder ( save00.ff7 - save09.ff7 )
*Download all mods I intend to use
*Arrange load orders as specified by Tutorial Page
*Configure each mod to personal preference
*Launch Game
*Oops! Fuck your shit homie, you'll never relive your favorite childhood ( next to Xenogears ) game before they FFXV that shit
*Change FF7 Exe to ff7_bc.exe as suggested by EQ2Alyza
*Refer to previous Oops! error

[00000121] ERROR: unhandled exception

Whether you guys respond to this or not, I'll keep tinkering, even though that ERROR doesn't really say anything. "Unhandled exception" is like "undefined variable" or "type function error". Eugh.

Thank you both very much for your help, and EQ2Alyza for specifically curating this project for so long. I remember first dabbling with it in college, almost 6 years ago.. thanks so much for keeping up with it. =)

7th Heaven / Re: Unable to locate specific Menu Mod
« on: 2017-05-20 16:11:21 »
The only variation I've managed to get working is the No Boxes option, which just .. creates a huge black space under the combat area and otherwise leaves the menu alone minus the literal borders that created the boxes.

Furthermore, I can't run Because + Menu Overhaul at the same time without the game crashing whenever a dialog option appears. I'm using a save point right before the Scorpion boss as a test; if the "Restore Materia" prompt works, then the game is stable, but if the game is unstable, the second I grab the Materia the whole game crashes ( Oop! Something went very wrong etc ).

Any thoughts? I'm still testing options but I'd love some guidance here.

7th Heaven / Unable to locate specific Menu Mod
« on: 2017-05-20 16:03:52 »
I've managed to get everything installed and working, but arguably the most important mod seems to not be included in the catalog. It's a menu mod in which the entire battle interface takes after the FF9 battle interface, with transparent backgrounds and smaller bars. I thought it'd be part of the Menu Overhaul included with 7th Heaven's catalog, but after testing all the options, I can tell it's not the same mod. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I can find it?

7th Heaven / Game Crashes upon prompting Start Menu

Howdy,

My game gives me "Oops! Something very bad happened!" after I hit Enter upon hitting the initial Final Fantasy Screen. To be clear, it's the intro screen with the Final Fantasy X in the background with the FF7 theme playing and dev titles are rolling across the screen.

[00001192] ERROR: unhandled exception

Troubleshooting steps taken so far:

Re-initialized the FF7_GameConverter_7H and overwrote the existing files hoping something was missed.
Double-checked OpenGL Driver Config is exactly as suggested in tutorial
Double-checked mod order was correct ala the Tutorial
Initially had the Menu Overhaul mod installed; removed mod due to various threads suggesting it destabilized the mod build.
Validated Game Files via Steam ( I fear this may have broken more than resolved given the nature of what's being done )

Again, the game loads past the Chocobo screen, and brings you to the main Splash screen, but once attempting to prompt the start menu, the game crashes with the "Oops" error.

Thanks for any help, I loved this mod years ago when it was far less advanced and hope to enjoy FF7 with mods again. =)

7
This thread is littered with screenshots of great work between several parties, but none of it is readily available on the first post. Is there any way to update it with links for all these new textures, including the fight-background ones? My FF8 is jelly.

8
Were these textures ever compiled for Tonberry / finished? Dat Edina..

Bootleg Questions / Field Model Hotfix?
« on: 2015-03-13 12:58:09 »
There's a known bug in which the Bloodshot Cloud Field Model (with Sword) will consequently install the Cloud field model in which Cloud has Masamune on his back. Firstly, this also applies to the Bloodshot Field Model without Sword as well.

Is there any way I can single out this model and change it? I've read the faq's and have searched around, and from what I'm reading, it'd require a fresh install. I've done this a couple times and am hesitant only because I don't want to go through midgar again only to find the same bug later on. Is there any way to unpack Cloud's individual model and replace it with the appropriate field model?

Furthermore, is there any way to revert some of the Remastered OST songs to their default? The remastered OST version of the Shinra Theme is so far deviated from its original that it feels more like the lovechild of an individual than a proper remastering of the original song. I can live with this being around, but the Cloud Masamune thing is irking the hell out of me.

Any and all help is much obliged. =)

/e
EQ2Alyza-- Truly, thank you and all your subsequent developers for this wonderful mod package. It revives a 20 year old game in a way that only mods can. Your dedicated service to something you love, which extends out to all of us fans of the game, has really improved the game in a way that spits in the face of Sony's abstinence of a true remastering of a classic nostalgia machine.  You rock <3

/e2
A thought just occurred to me. I have installed / uninstalled Bootleg a couple times to try different configurations and see which I like more. I did accidentally install Bloodshots Cloud /w Sword in my first go, but have since uninstalled bootleg several times. And I did follow the instructions on how to do so to the letter-- uninstalled FF7Music from CP, uninstalled FF7 via Steam, deleted the FF7 folder in its entirety afterwords, then deleted the registry keys using the tool provided in the FAQ's. I did this every time I uninstalled. Is it possible that this Masamune bug is something left-over from my initial installation, even though I've installed the Bloodshot w/o Sword field model like.. 3 times since?
