I have two questions.

1.I am currently trying to administer CRP to Priscilla, but for some reason there is a 30 second timer on this terrible minigame. I'm fairly certain that it is literally not possible to complete this in 30 seconds. Is there some setting I need to change in Reunion to prevent this from happening?

2.I tried to customize the soundtrack by replacing some of the included .ogg files with remixes that had the same name as the original file. They play, but do not loop. Is there something special I need to do to the file to make it loop properly?

7th Heaven / Black Screen When Starting
« on: 2018-08-13 16:59:11 »
When trying to load/start a new game it goes to a black screen for an extended period of time, then will finally fade in after some time passes. When it does come on, there is no music. Not sure where to troubleshoot from here. It worked without issues on my older (crappier) PC before it bit the dust.

I'm starting with a fresh install from the PC98 CDs as I got an error about missing registry keys when I tried to run the files from my old PC. New install, ran the conversion, set up everything in 7th Heaven and had it redownload all of the mods, change the load order to the recommended, and then this. I've repeated this process twice with the same result so it's time to try something else.

Running this on Win 7, dual Xeon X5670, Quadro 6000, 36GB RAM so it can't be for lack of hardware.

Any help is appreciated.

Releases / Re: [FF8PC] Restore the debug room (2013-03-11)
« on: 2017-11-23 13:01:52 »
I encountered a limitation with using this patch with FF8 Steam. If you warp back to the beginning of the game to do a New Game+ the game will crash when you try to leave Balamb Garden to get Ifrit. It isn't caused by having items in your inventory, GFs, etc. because I modified a new save file to have everything else exactly the same and it did not crash. That is the only problem I've encountered using the debug room with FF8 Steam thus far.

I have never been satisfied with the English "localization" (as opposed to translation) of FF8, and know I can do be better. I already have a second set of eyes willing to help on the translation side, but neither of us have the more technical hacking skills for the project. Help is needed with:

-Dumping the Japanese script.
-Making a patch to put the new script into the Steam version of the game at a minimum, PSX and other PC versions would be nice options as well.
-Extra sets of eyes to look four stupid and easily correctable mistakes like that one that can be missed when you stare at the screen too long.

A similar post will go up for the FFX trilogy. While not promising to do all four games, we'll start on whichever one gets the technical help first.

Calling the English versions of the FFX games an abomination is too kind. While all of the games have their issues in the original Japanese, at least half of what brings it down in the west is the rotten translation and dubbing. I already have a second set of eyes willing to help on the translation side, but neither of us have the more technical hacking skills for the project. Help is needed with:

-Dumping the Japanese script, preferably with the ability to play the voice along with the text. Japanese is a very nuanced language, and the way things are said makes a difference.
-Making a patch to put the new script into the Steam version of the game at a minimum (assuming it isn't just editing a file WYSWIG style and overwriting the old one, if it can easily be put into other versions that's fine too), with the Japanese audio and for the game to function properly. I have no idea how Squeenix managed to create bugs in X-2 Steam (and Last Mission?) with the Japanese audio, but this will have to be addressed. Since we're going to modify the Japanese script, and the Japanese script works, we're assuming the problem is probably a Square USA "feature," but if it's not, we'll need help fixing it. This is going to be a lot of work to translate ya, and we're frankly not going to do it for free if we won't be satisfied with the final product ya, so it's the real audio or bust. (Fun fact: Wakka is only that much of a dumbass in the English localisation ya.)
-Extra sets of eyes to look four stupid and easily correctable mistakes like that one that can be missed when you stare at the screen too long.

A similar post will go up for the FF8 as well. While we're not promising to do all four games, we'll start on whichever one gets the technical help first. If we start with the FFX games they will be done in reverse order, as both of us played X and X-2 very recently, which is what lead to the idea of redoing these in the first place.

Gameplay / FF8 Steam Debug Room
« on: 2017-10-26 18:38:52 »
I think it should be possible to come up with something to add access to the debug room in FF8 Steam without having to convert a save to PSX format, save in the debug room in ePSXe, convert the save back to PC format and then load in the debug room in FF8 Steam. In trying to do this I'm losing a step somewhere.

This puts the debug room into FF8 Steam:
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13322.0

These Gameshark codes unlock the Debug room for the PSX version:

D00705E8 010F
800704A8 0001
D00705E8 010F
800704AA 0049

This video and thread give information on breaking down the code and getting something to enter into Cheat Engine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKVbrEpBdrk
http://www.cheatengine.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193030&sid=eca98f58c1a5b8ab7a9f81fd6f7dc656

With the proper information entered in Cheat Engine, I think it should be simple enough to access the debug room without going back and forth with ePSXe and save conversions. My attempts thus far have failed, but I don't claim to really know what I'm doing either. Anyone see a hole in my logic and/or care to take a stab at it?
