Completely Unrelated / E3 Sony Conference
« on: 2010-06-15 21:14:29 »
I just watched the two hour Sony conference and I have to say that it was A LOT better than the 360 and Wii conferences. The Playstation Move is going to be so much better than the Xbox Kinect.

Did anyone see Sorcery with the Playstation Move? It was so precise and so much more easier to use than the Wii. You can create a wall of fire, then use the whirlwind spell to create a tornado that "absorbs" the fire to make it a fire tornado! That is awesome.

Did anyone else watch it? What are your thoughts? Do you think the Xbox Kinect is going to be as good as the Playstation Move?

This.   We have a very active moderator now.  If anything gets out of control I'll take care of it.   Until then why not quit pointing fingers since you have already admitted to using the Ultima Edition, Dark Fang.  Be glad you are allowed to stay here.

I never have once used the Ultima Edition and have never admitted to using it either.

Troubleshooting / Eye Avatars (FFVII)
« on: 2010-06-13 18:03:48 »
The Vincent one looks like a chick. Not bad though.

You could have gone through the Blu-ray version of Advent Children, taken screenshots, and used their eyes. You would have to scale them though.

I wanted to see what the great faces of the Qhimm forum look like! If this is against the rules, or you think it will end up in a flame thread, then please delete it.

I really CBF to take a picture of myself right now, but once I do, I'll post it.

Completely Unrelated / Stupid YouTube
« on: 2010-06-03 16:06:04 »
Recently YouTube has changed their video layout thingy and it looks different. Well I uploaded a video, watched it once, and it was the new style. Then I watch it again and it reverted back to the old style. Why won't it stay the new style? It has done this before.

STUPID YOUTUBE.................

In this example I will be using the battle.lgp file and be applying the Advent Children Cloud mod made my kula wende.

Instructions:
1. Download Aali's lgp/unlgp program from here.
2. Make a folder on your desktop and name it Aali.
3. Extract lgp.exe and unlgp.exe to the Aali folder on your desktop.
4. Go into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle and copy the battle.lgp then put it in the Aali folder on your desktop.
5. Inside the Aali folder, create another folder called battle. Don't to anything in this yet.
5. Open a CMD window by going to Start -> Run -> Type in cmd -> hit ok
6. In the CMD window, type in "cd Desktop\Aali" (without the quotes)
7. Type in "unlgp battle.lgp" (without the quotes)
8. Wait until it's finished extracting. It should say successfully extracted.
9. Copy ALL the extracted files into the battle folder inside the Aali folder. They are all four letters long and have no extension. They go from aaaa to smda.
10. Download the Advent Children Cloud mod from here. (link removed)
11. Extract the contents to your desktop.
12. Go into Custom Ac Cloud and then into the battle folder. Copy all the files (from rtaa to rtda) and put them in the Aali -> battle folder. Be sure to overwrite all files.
13. Go into Custom Ac Cloud, into the battle folder, then into the final battle folder. Copy all files (siaa to sida) and put them in the Aali -> battle folder. Be sure to overwrite all files.
14. Open a CMD window by going to Start -> Run -> Type in cmd -> hit ok
15. In the CMD window, type in "cd Desktop\Aali" (without the quotes)
16. Type in "lgp battle battle.lgp" (without the quotes) This will overwrite the current one in your Aali folder.
17. Go into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle and backup the battle.lgp file. This can be done by renaming the battle.lgp to backup_battle.lgp.
18. Copy the newly made battle.lgp (the one created in the Aali folder) into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle and be sure to overwrite it.
19. You have successfully installed the Advent Children Cloud mod!

It's a video tutorial. Watch, rate, subscribe, check out my other videos, and comment!

Be sure to watch in HD!

There were a few mistakes in both videos but I'm just WAY too lazy to try and fix them or to make a better tutorial.

Completely Unrelated / Another Grammar Lesson
« on: 2010-05-31 00:36:27 »
I was looking through some posts and noticed something. When people type numbers, they just type the number. For example, "I have to wait 4 hours." This is, however, incorrect. The grammatically proper way of saying this is "I have to wait four hours."

So if the number you are typing is below 10, spell out the word. This includes zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and nine. All other numbers can be used as numbers. For example, 10, 64, 9999, -131234, .000000000001, etc.

This concludes another DarkFang Grammar Lesson. See you next time! :D

Completely Unrelated / Guitar or Drums?

Okay so my parents are giving me a choice. They will either buy me a guitar with an amp, or a drum set. Which one do you think I should get?

Completely Unrelated / Disc vs Disk
« on: 2010-05-27 13:34:31 »
Disc:
A disc refers to optical media, such as an audio CD, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, or DVD-Video disc. Some discs are read-only (ROM), others allow you to burn content (write files) to the disc once (such as a CD-R or DVD-R, unless you do a multisession  burn), and some can be erased and rewritten over many times (such as CD-RW, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM discs).

All discs are removable, meaning when you unmount or eject the disc from your desktop or Finder, it physically comes out of your computer.

Disk:
A disk refers to magnetic media, such as a floppy disk, the disk in your computer's hard drive, an external hard drive. Disks are always rewritable unless intentionally locked or write-protected. You can easily partition  a disk into several smaller volumes, too.

Disks are usually sealed inside a metal or plastic casing (often, a disk and its enclosing mechanism are collectively known as a "hard drive").

So if I see someone use the word disk improperly again, I will correct them. For example, "I'm having trouble with Disk 2 of Final Fantasy VII." It is not disk, it is disc.

Thank you.

General Discussion / f*** My Life...
« on: 2010-05-21 23:43:24 »
Wow...

I was going for a perfect game and I was on the boat headed to the new continent. Well, on this boat there are enemies called Marines in which you can steal Shinra Betas from them. Shinra Betas are an armor piece that is unobtainable after disc 1 or something. My goal was to steal 99 of them. I steal about 40 of them and I run into a battle, pause it, alt tab out, and do something on the computer. I then turn off my monitor and go eat dinner. I come back and the game crashed.

2 hours of gameplay lost. I didn't even save it at all.  :'(

General Discussion / Suppose to be Black!
« on: 2010-05-18 22:52:12 »
In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud's uniform is blue. However, in Crisis Core, the SOLDIER 1st class uniform is black. At the end of Crisis Core (beginning of VII) there's an FMV where Cloud is on the train and his uniform is BLACK. So... WHY WUZ IT BLUE?!

I just wanted to see your replies. :P

Troubleshooting / Limit Break Suggestion
« on: 2010-05-16 02:29:37 »
Not sure where this would go...

Cloud's 1-2 limit break, Cross Slash, is now called Jinx Slash. However, a literal translation of Cross Slash appears to be Curse Slash. So shouldn't Curse Slash be used?

Only a suggestion. :)

Completely Unrelated / Sorry
« on: 2010-05-15 03:17:58 »
I've been recently making pointless topics and asking stupid questions I could have found answers to by just searching. I have also flamed a few members and have had an attitude toward members as well.

I just wanted to say I'm completely sorry for anything I've done wrong and wanted to start over.

I will try to contribute as much to the forums as I possibly can. Hopefully this will fix a few things that I've said. :)

Completely Unrelated / Where to Start?
« on: 2010-05-13 20:40:52 »
Okay, so I want to start modeling characters, weapons, items, monsters, backgrounds, basically anything in Final Fantasy VII. However, I have absolutely NO prior knowledge to any of this at all. Therefore, I need to know what programs to use, how to use them, where to get the models, how to add textures, etc. Basically, I need a MASSIVE tutorial on how to do EVERYTHING.

The only program I have right now is Autodesk 3ds Max and I have no idea how to use it.

So please direct me to some newb tutorials, or if you're brave enough, you could teach me yourself. If you do teach me yourself, then please act as if I don't know anything at all, because well I don't...

If this is posted somewhere on the forums already, I'm terribly sorry.

Troubleshooting / Question
« on: 2010-05-10 23:13:57 »
Okay so the current field models you guys have made are just the original battle models correct?

Well is there any way to use the current Cloud battle model (AZP (I think?)) as a field model as well? I mean, it doesn't sound that hard since you guys already did it once lol. I may be wrong though.
