Soldiers inside an armour.
This is my best guess too.  Minus the "u"  :-P

Armour is spelt with a 'u' just so you know, that's the proper English spelling, not the American English version

I am beta testing it, though I'm also quite busy with work. The final version will be released, but it's hard to say when. Thus I won't make any promises. Stay tuned!

I'm glad to hear that  :-D

I thought they were some kind of attack robot for shinra

Yeah, I'd go for attack robot as well

They seem to be what the Shinra guards in red coats and Russian style hats turn into when they fight :|

Strange  :-o

In the battle.lgp the files ending in aa are the models skeleton, in char.lpg the files with .hrc on the end are the skeletons. Use Kimera to open these and view the models

This may be of use to you http://www.mediafire.com/?dwwmzzejmdl

It has an index of what skeleton files are for what character/enemy

This website may also interest you, click Here

It has a list of alot of tutorials on making models and extracting files etc.

Well you could always give a few positives to go along with the negative, maybe a few smileys even, cos its quite hard to tell if ppl are being constructively negative or just plain negative on a forum, you know?

I suppose i'm gonna have to try and make purple look xtra badass

Your good with photoshop right? why not just make the uniform purple, then re-colour it black, include both with the model and ppl can choose, then everyone's happy

It must feel pretty bad to get all these negative comments but I think you've done a nice job and I'm glad your taking the time to do this  :-D Like the others have said it would look better if the textures were a bit darker, but I would use this over the original

13
he is supposed to be (impersonating) a first class SOLDIER anyway, and firsts wear black suits >:D

They only wear black in crisis core, in the original game they wore purple

10 years and I'm still learning something new!

So we have two girls on Qhimm? Unless there are others who just haven't registered...

16
Hhmm, always wondered how that worked  :-o

I just love playing the game

Me too, but I also enjoy customizing everything I can! I also like testing mods and improving upon them, if I can

The battle lgp is stored in the data folder which should be in your ff7 directory (C:\program files\square soft, inc\final fantasy 7\data\battle), that is if you installed in the default location and to extract the battle.lgp you have to use a program such as LGP tools, you can do a search on the forums for it  :-)

I belive the model is finished, it just needs a texture mapped to it
I'm sure it will be done eventually....

dont have it on my computer :P I just make models ^^

So why are you interested in making models and texture updates if you can't actually test them first hand? Seems a little strange to me, I think first hand testing is a definite must!

FF7 Tools / Kimera: FF7 p model simple editor
« on: 2009-09-19 21:40:15 »
Well MXster, the pivot point is the origin of coordinates relative to each part. You can change this point by moving the part. A good way of seeing where is exactly the pivot point is by enabling the "Show axes" option on the P editor.

Thank You  :-D
