Well Jari, I guess you could be right about my isp putting a cap on the int d/l speed. But one thing that still puzzles me is Joey didn't manage to get the file viewed either. He lives in the exact same country, in fact he lives in the same city.
I like starting of with an new topic anyway cause Qhimm's board has this odd 'feature' of not allowing you to skip to the 3rd, 4th ,etc page immediately.
Besides, even the preview for the replys only appears if there is one page.

A chat room is a very bad idea in my opinion cause all of us here a like on the opposite sides of the world so it would be unlikely that anyone will be in the chat room.

Chinise songs? I like Rene Liu, Daniel something and a new singer who sounds like emiko shihatori(cantonese). I also like Faye Wong and Sammi Cheng but I don't know how to read chinise. Can anyone please post the link for: 1)Daniel Chan - No Way

im downloading 'Much against everyone's advice' by Souwax on Napster. ah its only at 1 k/s. no wonder, he/she's downloading 73 songs on a cable connection!
now, about my banner. thanks for the help everyone. i made the background black, but the last few frames look a bit dodgy which i need to sort out cos the....well you can look for yourself. ive got a jpg and a gif . i put a one frame fade at the end of the gif and its 77kb or something. so for the last bit of help, can everyone tell me which one to use?

Is it just me or does the sword skip more in the new version? Of fall the changes made, that is what really degraded quality...suddenly it's like...right above your head, then it goes further away again before landing. Probably because of some camera movement, but it makes me confused when looking at it. If you increase the speed of the animation a little perhaps noone will notice.
Also there is one unecesarry frame in there, because the sword first hit the ground and then in the next two frames shovel up some dirt, you can skip right to the second frame I think?

Here's my advice, go for the JPG!
Why?
Cause the Gif takes a while to d/l and might scare visitors away.
If people visit the site more than once, they wont even bother looking at the animation.

ah so you want to know why name is eerrrr? well, its a long story.....actually its really short. basically i always used to call myself vic_loi cos my names V**, but a long time a go on my first deathmatch in Quake 2 i couldnt think of a nickname. and i was thinking 'what should i call myself? ummmm.....ahhhhh....eerrrr...eerrrr!'. so ive stuck with that name since then unless its already taken.<P>thanks for the help everyone, this is the banner im gonna put a link to so people can link to me from their site. all the people here with websites tell me the address to your website so i can link to it. if you have a banner give me the link to it or send it to me so i can upload it to my server, that way it'll load faster. oh yeah, me and JediMark's sites are on Freedom to Surf which only people in the uk can join up to. and its really fast for me and mark, but can people not from the uk quickly goto <A HREF="http://www.completeubb.f2s.com/complete_ff.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.completeubb.f2s.com/complete_ff.html[/url] and tell me how fast it is? thanks. blimey charlie, this is a bit long for me.

Which board that I'm an admin? Even that I host bleemer ( of http://www.bleemer.net ) forum on my website, I'm not it's admin. I moderate SaiyaMan forum ( on the the link somehwere in this board too )and also FF Village forum. Well, that's it.
And I think the 404 error is still there.

cHiBiMaRuKo if you host www.bleemer.net then can you sort out the speed of it. It loads up realy slow for me and we're talking like 5 minutes to load up! Couldnt you move it to somewhere else. I know you have other domains but they are equaly as slow if not slower!

Hey, how do yuo make your own image? say like when you try to blend the two images to gether so that one is only partially visible and the other is clearer? you get what i mean? some of qhimm's images are like that. i spent my whole day clicking on all the blur commands and all kind's of other thing in corel draw yet i can't get anything. i want to make one of those things, somebody help. anybody who gets what i mean.

It's called "layers".

if you want it so the image turns slightly blue, like the background on this page, i use paint shop pro 7.
get the picture, make a new 'BLUE' layer and set the opacity so you can see through it a bit. use feathering to fade out the edges.

Layers and something called masking will do you a much better job than just fading

A mask is a greyscale image associated with each layer. It says something about how transparent a layer is in different parts. Darker parts means more transparency (or vice versa).
In Paint Shop Pro you can edit the mask by selecting "layer/edit mask" from the menus. I never learned Photoshop.
In graphics programming we use the term "alpha color" for the same principle. Normally you have three colors, called RGB (red, green and blue), but then you add alpha (RGBA) and the last color component is the amount of transparency...
